DON'T GO! I saw it yesterday. It was a huge piece of sh**! For the first time in my life i left a play before it finished. Maybe I wouldn't if the music wasn't that horrific! (And I am very tolerant for different types of music). You guys are making me laugh with your comments here... What's so amazing about the music?!? It was a REAL PAIN for my ear. A bit of a shame that Lucinda C is called 'One of the most important choreographers in the US'. Sad. Waste of my money and Friday evening.
Truly a work of art, I can not wait to see the reunion tour of EINSTEIN with Childs/Glass/Wilson in 2011, all artists are well before their time and we are so fortunate to experience the union of such creative forces!
Saw this yesterday in Philadelphia and liked it very much!
Can someone please explain Dance II? I did not understand the different dance style in Dance II, and in the film, compared to the dance in I and III (eg the arms).

To those that do not know what this is about.. I encourage you to look up the history of Modern Dance.. It is a study.. it is often taught on the collegiate level at most institutions.
I saw it tonight... it was lovely. It felt mathematical and poetic, physical and conceptual. It's really remarkable how well the music and the choreography illuminate one another. And the film images? Ghostly and haunting as well as engaging and exacting. The whole thing was simply transcendent. Question, though: Glass's score is for Dances 1-5. Did Childs only choreograph Dances 1-3? Or were only 1-3 revived?
This is one of the most important piece of choreography in post-modern dance. Lucinda's Dance has being performed on the most important theaters in the world and did change what we called minimalism in dance. Thank you "pasquinifernando"
I don't talk about "the artist" Lucinda Childs, I saw a few performance and was great, but this, for me( sorry if I didn't explain in the first text!) this video show only nice ballet exercises, and is not look like a choreography..if you don't like my view, or if if have offend you, I'll apologize .. but check some new style..cheers "verdena61"

Glass's music is amazing, with its pop sensibilities and simplicity :-)

@Colt2006 She choreographed Dances 1-5. In the original Dances 2 and 4 were solos done by Childs, herself. Only 1 3 and 5 were revived.
