  • personally, i know many a celebrity who loves/appreciates art, works hard for their wealth, and uses their voice/their money to raise awareness/funds for many a cause. Help other humans, animals, and the life on this planet, in general. i do. there's enough on this earth to help heal/support ALL comfortably. we know this now by 2012 AD. there's no reason to spread this illness nor your hatred. these comments disturb me. i hope you all find love and the spirit of goodness in your hearts <3

  • Haha, '15 min of parking... AND A TICKET!'

  • @PhazonElitist because you'll probably end up getting AIDS

  • @PhazonElitist i feel sorry for you poor racist...:(

  • The nine largest pharma giants raked in $30.6 billion in 2001 profits . Only 9 and in 2001 :-)

  • I stopped watching at Dakota. She's scary.

  • So many attractive people...

  • the crazy thing is that the advertiser before the video started payed more than 40 cents to push their product for 20 secs instead of donating it to (RED) cause.

  • I WANT THE MUSTACHE !!

  • I love Michelle! So just so badass in the movies she coed out in:D

  • How much condon or fresh needle cost?

  • 00:35 SPRINKLES <3

  • I gut gum

  • Hayden Christensen! Even though I probably spelled his name wrong...

  • Who is the guy that said "extra mayonnaise"?

  • @skHOFfan628 His name is Hayden Christensen, he plays Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars, also David (main character) in Jumper

  • my favorites are" I got a really great hat", "Balon dog" and "*POP* Lipstick"

  • THE COMBINED NET WORTH OF THE PEOPLE APPEARING IN THIS VIDEO IS $5.3 Billion. Billion with a B.

If they donated just 1% of their net worth to their own cause, they could medicate 342,000 HIV Positive patients for an entire year. Just 1%.

And this is just 18 or 20 celebrities. Not including OPRAH, PITT, CRUISE, HANKS, JAY-Z, P-DIDDY, BON JOVI, SPRINGSTEEN, MCCARTNEY, SEINFELD, GAGA, JK ROWLING and the list goes on and on and on.

So celebrities, if you REALLY want to change the world...

  • @TheBrokenSpell STOP MAKING SENSE! Also, yes. I agree.

  • @TheBrokenSpell long life angelina jolie? maybe thats why shes not there?

  • @TheBrokenSpell There are 6 million africans on the drug now so...

  • @TheBrokenSpell I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be in a (RED) commercial for nothing. They probably donate a good portion every year to the organization.

  • y they take off the jonas brothers???

  • Hit 8 as fast as you can! It sounds like he's saying B positive. lol

  • GO GWEN STEFANI I HEARD NO DOUBT IS MAKING NEW SONGS :D :D :D

  • press 4 as fast as you can

  • god hugh appeared so quickly. :(

  • It's both you idiots

  • @LaughingVegetables None of them are.

  • @wiifan222 You gotta see southpark to get the joke.

  • POP!! LIPSTICK!! HAHAHA BEST PART... for 40 cents

  • Who's the guy with the lipstick? Is that Robert Downey Junior?

  • @PyroMan944 it's Javier Bardem!

  • Who's the guy that does the Lipstick one?

  • @PyroMan944 He's from No Country For Old Men, Javier Bardem.

  • If anyone wants further evidence on how stupid this all is. Please check youtube.com/watch?v=WQoNW7lOnT4. The reason this is important is it is because it is from the man who won the nobel prize for discovering hiv - Montganier. I think you will find it differs from the point of view of drug companies and pop stars. Who would you believe - Bono or the discoverer of HIV.

  • Why dont RED ask Fair Trade for their drug money instead of the public. There has to be a surplus to help with medication. Or tackle the supermarkets conning people into buying fair trade with over inflated prices and lining their own pockets.

  • Its just a franchise dressed up as a charity. They say they give money to develop. But that is minimal. For instance Cadburys spent more on their fair trade advert in Ghana than the country got in supposed development fees for villages. It only increased cocoa from 1250 per tonne to 1300 dollars. Thing is they cant fet out of it or no one buys unless its fair trade.

  • The one that really bugs me is that fair trade thing that Chris Martin goes on about. They like to give you this idea it is a free charity for farmers in 3rd world countries. What they dont tell you is they charge the poor farmers £1200 each. There are 1.5 million farmers now signed up. Do the maths. They are a bit screwed now because supermarkets, are only interested in Fair trade. They add an extra 75 percent on top. And then on top fair trade charges them for using the logo.

  • @simwatts £1200 per year by the way. Not a one off fee.

  • @avrilsdream

No kidding, All though I like some of the celebs in this commercial, such as Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Gwen Stefani, it's annoying how a lot of celebs in general act like they're so giving and whatever, but then they go on a talk show just to thell people who watch to give money to the AIDS victims, poor people who can't afford to eat, etc. Maybe they should stop being so damn greedy and give some of their money up instead bugging those hurt by the economy.

  • @travitheMuffinMan i think you'll find most celebrities donate massive sums to charity every month, most are pretty giving, and the ones that aren't do it anyway to look good.

  • all you haters need to shut up about these celebrities! obviously they contributed some to the project if they're on the ad and campaigning for it! they are only trying to make the world a better place for our grand children which is a hell of a lot more than 96% of you can say.

  • If it's only .40 cents a day, how much would the combined wealth of these people buy? Maybe they wouldn't be begging me for the money.

BTW, how much did it cost for Bono and U2 to fly six 747's into Australia for their world tour?

  • Hey I got a question. How about the hypocrisy with these programs. for example, Red Cross, a charity we trusted to give HIV/AIDS free blood to poor countries was caught giving tainted blood to people which then they ended up with AIDS. They got fined but what does that matter now that thousands more will die due to greed. Or how about those who steal 40% of the donations for their own personal use, hmm?

I'll start helping these programs when they show the real truth about themselves, hypocrites

  • @simwatts to date, (RED) partners & events have contributed $150M to the Global Fund. 100% of this goes to AIDS programs in Africa - no overhead is taken out. This money has reached over 5M people and has helped put more than 145,000 HIV + people on ARV medication, helped more than 84,000 HIV + pregnant women with treatment to reduce the risk of transmission of HIV to their babies & helped 4.8M people receive HIV testing & counseling. None of this money has been used on marketing & advertising.

  • @joinred Do they test whether they have HIV or use the Bundhi criteria to determine if they need drugs. I am quite sure most of these people need clean water and proper nutrition, and advice rather than drugs. There is evidence that most make a full recovery on diet, and arming their immune system. ie their t cell counts are low because they are deficient in zinc. Do they give them a test for hiv or diagnose it based on their physical appearance. I know this happens there.

  • @joinred

Thanks x100,000,000 for clearing that out!

  • @joinred Obviously it didn't. Why don't you come Clean with the stats. You have no idea where the money goes to. You just give it to the global fund. It is not 100 percent aids, it is supposed to be tb and malaria as well. These people need nutrition not drugs. Clean water. As advised by montgamier, the man who discovered aids. You are just puppets for the drug industries. Every forty cents is thirty nine cents for the drug company. U r just giving drugs to people with malnutrition. It's evil.

  • @simwatts oooooh shit get owned

  • @simwatts ur stupid

  • @dodgersniggas Look I really don't understand your last comment. They say 40p or cents is all it costs, and it doesn't. They have no control whatsoever. They are giving it to the global fund, is a big problem. Corruption is rife. Just some university was saying they got their funding cut from 150 million dollars a year. Funded by this. Not in Africa but the united states. So they cut their ties with Africa, and laid them off. It's same old story. Why are they getting all this funding. Not afric

  • @simwatts goto sleep or get some air.

  • @dodgersniggas U never stated your point of view. Do you think it's ok to give money to a charity, and they mislead you with what they do with that money. Just because it seems a good cause. If I said I was collectin for aids or charging poor African farmers 1500 pounds a year, to become part of my charity franchise, and then just give it to dodgy gangsters is that ok. Get some prick like Bono as a spokesman.

  • Not that I disagree about the fact that it is ridiculous that 40c a day is all that it takes to keep people a live.

What I do not agree with is that this is a guilt trip upon the American population by the same capitalistic society structure that created this problem in the first place by charging for a solution to AIDS/HIV.

And above all else celebs/the rich that think it isn't their responsibility but the poor people of the USA's. Why not stop trying to get rich on the suffering of the poor?

  • Hey baby hey baby~!

  • Now, that's a cause worth supporting. PETA better not get involved!

  • most of us live off of 20-60thousand dollars a year, the wealth of the people in the video may be over a billion dollars and some of them earn millions of dollars a year.

wouldn't it be more proper for those people in the video to give up all of there wealth except for 20-60 thousand a year and for all of us who only earn 20-60thousand a year to keep all of our money.

These wealthy entertainers need to put there real money where there mouth is.

They are the real over earners. not you and me.

  • Wow, that's great! Only 40 cents a day. Great. So why are the pills I've been perscribed so much more expensive? Why can't I afford a doctor's visit and a half a pint of blood draws for testing? Way to make one of the most complicated epidemics in history seem so simple and manageable.

  • i love this commercial

    Michelle Rodriguez is badass! (:

  • poop lipstick. lmao. good commercial

  • was hoping to see chris cornell in this..

  • <3 gween

  • love gwen stefani!!!!

  • " a really great hat"

  • why does this make me laugh??? haha Cuz its funny!

  • people who argue that its "easy" to stay aids free are pretty narrowminded. donations and funds are used for people in developing nations where many dont have access to contraception, are raped by older men, or simply are born with the disease because their mother had it when the were pregnant. if you argue that all you have to do is "say no" for the world to be free of aids, you are ignorant to the many different lifestyles and the issue of poverty in the world.

  • @babypowdergirl Around the world, it may not be easy to stay AIDS free, but in America, it is. I agree that people should be more aware of issues outside of America, but we can't do everything.

  • who's the one with the lipstick????

  • @MrGUS1980 Javier Bardem, he played the assassin in No Country for Old Men. Awesome actor

  • Comment removed

  • @MrGUS1980 HUGH JACKMAN OF COURSE!!!

  • .....Lipstick!

  • 40cents!

  • hahaha its funny if u keep looping the same one over n over... i kept watching gwen, and then dakota over n over again sprinkles sprinkes sprinkes

  • "a kazoo" lol i love hugh jackman, i could spend 40 cents on a lollies or a rubber ball lol :D

  • Hayden christensen *-----* i love him :*

  • everytime i see this commercial, i think the lipstick guy is JDM (jeff morgan)

  • On this subject, the only celebrity I would listen to about giving to charity would be Denzel Washington. He's one of the only celebrities you hear about on a fairly frequent basis on his philanthropy.

  • @Dakarn Bono is always talking about his philanthropy .... he's like the most well know for his work to help Africa

  • Who the hell is that at 0:41?

I think I'm in love with him.

  • @CaramelCamel Javier Bardem xx

  • No one deserves HIV/AIDS. Most people get it, Because their partner doesn't say anything about, Or doesn't know they have it.

Heterosexuals need to stop thinking, They cannot get it... lol.

You CAN get it. If you keep on thinking you CAN'T, Then you probably will end up with it, By not using condoms.

So! Moving on, People do not ASK for these diseases.

People need to stop being ignorant.

It's expensive to live, Because our government is just worthless. It's corrupt, and it's sad.

  • @brian555666 I'm not ignorant on the subject nor do I say anybody deserves it I'm just trying to point out that we need to take care of the roots not the weed itself. I mean if you got it from your partner then that sucks, but before you actually had sex then do some research, get to know the person and personality. Because if you don't you're in for a surprise. I mean soon it's going to be scary to have sex or have children it's amazing how many girls out there have the mindset on sex of a guy

  • @pulloutsange There are young people in their 20's fighting protecting our country and dieing. And you don't see their families getting 40 cents. There is NO cure for aids so what we are gonna give 40 cents for probably a placebo drug and make the sponsors of these commercials rich? There is NO cure for aids so what we are gonna give people this drug so they can live even longer and spread it even more? IF God wants you to die, you'll die, if I got aids as a STD I would face it, it's my fault.

  • @MrGhostface2001 There also isn't room for ignorance, But you still see that just polluting everything!

They have funds for people fighting for this dumb ass country.

But wait... if we are meant to surrender, and our country took over, and casualties everywhere, God wanted it right? So why worry about those troops? Why even come to this page?

You also do not see a cure for cancer, either. ANYONE can get cancer, by not being healthy also. You think they should die also?

  • @MrGhostface2001 What if a close family member of yours would die, By cancer? Hopefully not, But what if? They should just die right? Cause there is no cure.

Well... People's minds always change, Doors open to new experiences, And emotions. Hopefully one day, Your mind will change for the better.

  • @pulloutsange Hey man I am really sorry that you like monkeys, and I don't listen to the media always. I just have other things to do with my time then sit and cry over Africa and research aids and Africa intensively. If that is what you would like to do be my guest and waste your life away helping a county that would never help you in need. You say I have no sense but what is your mindset? "Oh poor Africa gotta help them," Sorry but again I have other things to do than worry about politics.

  • @MrGhostface2001 You are a racist coward, pure and simple. You have done nothing for the U.S. and never will because you would have to work side by side with people you hate that defend the U.S. I dare you to say that to a African American's face and see what happens to you. I have done my time for this country. What the hell have you done?! Oh, I forgot absolutely nothing! I have nothing more to say to cowards like you.

  • @pulloutsange Hey old man time to lose that patriotism Ok? Government doesn't care about you. You sending money to Africa is only going to make the African government richer. You think they care about the people there? You send $1000 bucks it's not gonna reach that child covered in flies, yea they will put one kid with a happy face on a commercial. We in America have our own things to care about. So instead why don't you get your fat ass up and help people here first... Common sense you dumb ***

  • @pulloutsange Say that to an African American Are you stupid? I can say that and you know what? They would agree with me on that. You think giving 40cents will help? Yea will help rich people get richer first, then go to the poor African countries. Instead why don't we educate on Safe sex and maybe give them jobs so they don't have so much time "making children". Maybe drop some condoms/gay porn lol. Think outside the bun for once.

  • Wow, a lot of hateful comments on here for people living with HIV and AIDS. Do people vilify cancer victims the same way they vilify people with AIDS? This disease has been around for 30 years and there is still such an overwhelming amount of ignorance when it comes to HIV. ANYONE can HIV in fact in America heterosexuals and African American women are most at risk. Protect yourself. If you have put yourself at risk even ONCE you should get tested.

  • @trekkian88 ur a horrible person.

  • Oh GWEN! You're back! And for a noble cause like this!

    I love you so much.

Now go back to the music, go back to their fans.

No one has forgotten you, no one will never forget you!

  • Common's is the best.

  • When this was on TV I started laughing at 0:43. Keep up the good work project (Red).

  • Nobody deserves HIV, not even the persons who say something stupid like that.

Think about what they whant to say. It's a good idea.

you don't get brain for 40 cent. too bad.

    nice hairnet

  • @trekkian88

    Fare well, my friend.

May HIV never get you (even if YOU deserve this..)!

  • lol... i got a mustache.

  • @ryanbinrichard You asshole!!!

  • Great video!!! \oXoXoXo/

    _________________

OMG!! Penélope Cruz, Javier Bardem and Michelle Rodriguez are so awesome, oh, my God!! I love them!!! \oXo/

  • 40 cents×2×days of treatment×millions of ppl= a lot so its still expensive

  • google this AIDS battle burnishes Bush's legacy in Africa

  • Michelle Rodriguez is awesome!!

  • @K1kuch1 celebrities are used because the creators of the ads know that more people will listen. Yes, its ironic, but its a tactic that works, and it's worth it if it saves lives.

  • @babypowdergirl Agree... if saves lifes it really doesn´t matter..

  • love this add. it puts the situation into perspective. for those who are confused, in underdeveloped countries all over the world, people do not recieve proper education on health and hygiene, so many actually are unaware of the high chances of recieving STDs and STIs when they have sex. There are also cases in developed countries in which a condom will break or a person is raped with no condom and diseases are transmitted this way. No, it is not always a person's fault for receiving AIDS.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrGhostface2001 You really get a kick out of hating on people with diseases right? You have a very cold heart and you seem REALLY immature. I guess we should all point and laugh at someone who gets diabetes from not eating right or someone who ends up with cancer from smoking?

  • Comment removed

  • @ryanbinrichard I am astonished. Please tell you are not alway this ignorant?

  • ganhe dinheiro pela net acesse watch?v=X1ECCP4wM4k

  • ...and for the record, I am NOT against saving lives. I AM against corporate, greedy people.

  • @tristanmayfield I'm not entirely sure why this isn't completely subsidized by Big Pharma. They have the deepest pockets on the planet.

  • @djslurch Because they want to make a profit off of people who psychically NEED this medicine to stay alive.

  • apart from the pills and Aids itself, a really good ad

  • Comments should be disabled for this video.

  • @Echoamiadogo2 I'm lovin' that answer..."Let's turn off free speech, so the pharmaceutical companies can make their profit in peace and quiet." Real smooth.

  • the money is in the treatment...not the cure....

  • There are MORE places in the world that has an aids epidemic. Look at the Ukraine for example and no they aren't black. So, for all the racist comments GO TO HELL! Another commercial to fabricate that only Africa has this problem. Propaganda a truly ignorant form of watching television! Believe Africa is the Only place that has aids BULLSH*%! Just like you RACISTS believe the confederates won the war but you DIDN'T! YOU LOST GET OVER IT! COWARDS!

  • Comment removed

  • @MrGhostface2001 No, that isn't a fact. The government created it as a Bio-weapon. Yes, you are a racist! Do some research before you run your mouth about any subject.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrGhostface2001 ACTUALLY if you really did your research you would know that the first case of AIDS was around 1900 from a white man studying a certain species of monkey in Africa. Oops!

  • yeah they get paid very well ...

  • quick question: these stars don't get payed to do this do they?

  • @xclusiv4321 no i dont think so, it's (RED)

  • must say, well done! funny, engaging, non-sentimental, and strait to the point

  • My Video/Song Is A Tribute To Victims Suffering From Aids And To Those Who Are Actively Fighting To Stop The Suffering And Spread Of AIDS Also To The Families Of Those Who's Passed On, Also I Hope My Video Softens The Hearts Of The World As A Whole In Reference To The Mistreatment Of AIDS Victims "They're Apart Of The Human Race"

  • @Moniqua8894 for 1 it helps but most of them don't even work and for 2 people dont even listen dawg so yeah..

  • People need to have more compassion. If we don't help each other who will? Please don't be so selfish. Selfish people are the most depressed peoples. People who help others are feel more happy. Won't you feel happy that you helped save someone's life?

  • where can I get an inspi (red) shirt?

  • What is this farce. i heard there is a cure for AIDS. I advice everyone to watch the free documentary THE OTHER SIDE OF AIDS and then tell me if you still support this lie.

  • The white guy with AIDS

  • how are some of you people so angry? i dnt understand what could make hate your fellow man, PEOPLE, so much. if they had white and lived in europe not only do i bet this would hav never happened, but it would be solved in a years' time. such a shame...
