To make this a little more visually entertaining, and to make the cuts a little less awkward, I'd suggest using different angles for the interview, OR putting in other video clips (like examples of what you're talking about) with the voice track underneath. Relatively easy and will make it look a bit more professional, and keep people involved. Good though, cool video.
The objective of this lab is not to prove a scientific law, but to make it fun and interesting so that way more people realize that "science" is more fun that it seems, and go into research and careers within the natural sciences
I saw a cool demonstration of progressive refraction that bent light in a curve in a tank of water and gelatin (I think it was gelatin) in one of my physics lectures.
The lecturer got a tank of water and slowly poured gelatin in so that it sat on the bottom. He let it settle for the entire lecture and at the end he shone a laser pointer into it. The laser started off straight but then curved down as it entered the gelatin in a beautiful arc.
Yeah you could do that, but you need to make sure it's directed, so putting it in a box, with a hole in it..... I just figured I have a laser pen anyways, so.. what the heck.
Anyhoo, I planned to add that option on the blog, though.. I will after the night's sleep.

isnt it more like light being redirected or bouncing off between the water??

this is cool.does the tape cover the hole??? if it's covered how can the water come out in a curve like that. i'd thought it'd come out dripping.

That's cool and fun, but it's not really *bending* light. It's more like redirecting it.
