@erazaqi Please don't hope over something so obvious. My point was that I felt you were being unreasonable. Besides, your logic behind Skip being wrong was that Rice is the epitome of football perfection... So your issue with his logic is that he doesn't agree?
skip bayless is use to having dallas cowboys dicks in his mouth. He did a lot of sucking when he was with the dallas morning news. irvin must have a big dick to have bayless kissing his ass. Irvin should never be mentioned in the same sentence as Rice.
You guys realize rice played in the west coast offense.. while mike played behind the all time leading rusher emmitt smith and STILL has better average per catch than rice.
Statistically I agree, and it isn't even close.... But I'm saying without the external factors, Irvin and Moss are more talented than Rice. Rice played with the greatest QB ever in Joe Montana, and then played with Steve Young, another legend.
but you have to agree peyton manning means alot more to his team and is a better qb then tom brady...i mean come on the patriots went 11-5 without tom brady and were a tiebreaker from making the playoffs meanwhile the colts cannot BUY a win this year
if tom brady is the greatest quarterback of all-time why couldnt he beat the new york FOOTBALL giants when it mattered the most?? when brady got hurt matt cassel came in and did just as well, then he went to the chiefs and GARBAGE, im not saying brady isnt a tremendous quarterback, he definetly is one of the best qb's ever, but to say he is the best is a stretch especially with the cheating scandals and stuff like that.
Rice was on the 49ners before montana and young nigga had one of the best work ethincs and had without the doubt the best hands no diss to carter but the shit that rice could do was amazing. Michael Irin is one of the best but if i had to choose it would be the GOATJerry Rice. ppl called him the world cuz there wasnt anything in the world he couldnt catch
You jackasses know shit about football? Brady a product? Gimme a fuckin break with his mental toughness desire and ability he would have been starter anywhere in the league. It takes a great qb, coach and defense to win the sb so they are all as important as eachother. Brady will go down as the BEST when he's done
@samEsam24 Yeah, which is why he was still good on the shit hole Raiders team in the Superbowl right? You can say that about any good player "Oh hes a product of a great system" "Oh he had a great offensive line". Get over it, football is a team sport.
@zDallasCowboys008z team sport yeahhhh?...but were comparing two players not two teams dumbass...and what kind of shit hole team makes it to a super bowl? dude im a 49ers fan im just beinfg real...look at the colts team with out manning? he's not a product...tom bradys' team did fine when he missed a year...bigger product then jerry rice for sure.
@samEsam24 Apparently you didn't know the Raiders got their ass whooped in the SB. They became utter crap after that season. A team makes the player good dumbass, if anyone had shit QBs and shit offensive linemen, of course the WR play would suffer. I do agree though that Tom Brady is pretty much a product of the system. If you watch him closely, he only does "perfect" passes when he literally has ALL day to throw because his O line hold the defenses in check. I live in the bay area btw.
@TheKenTerry That's true, but that was the Raider's (Al Davis) fault for releasing him after the tuck rule game that screwed the Raiders over because of a blown call.
I agree, but i'm just saying even I could have beaten the Raiders if I knew all thier plays. If The Raiders didn't get screwed with that bogus tuck call, they would have been one of the best stories ever. A bunch of misfits cut from thier teams for being too old come back for one more try, and they would have definitely beaten the Rams.
OVER-RATED!!!!! ANYONE THAT PLAYS WITH STEVE YOUNG AND JOE MONTANA IS GOING TO PUT UP MONSTER NUMBERS....NO TALENT AT ALL!!!! HE WAS PRETTY GOOD AT EVERYTHING BUT HE WASNT SPECIAL LIKE RANDY MOSS, CALVIN JOHNSON, AND ANDRE JOHNSON......
@j88salinas So just because he wasn't as big as those guys u mentioned, or ran as fast for them in the 40, that means he wasn't as good as them? sorry, but that's not how it works al davis.... u are aware that jerry rice played in the same division as the greatest CB to ever play, deion sanders, and yet he still torched him every time they played... how have randy moss, megatron, and andre done against darrell revis? not so well... Rice could still produce against Sanders and Green
Your comment highlights perfectly what happens when you drink while you type. You actually proved my point for me. Are you suggesting that Wade Wilson or Jason Garrett WERE AS GOOD AS Joe Montana? And if you are a guy, please stop typing "lol" in your retorts. Leave that for the 15 year old girls.
Read the "dig", but answer my question. Was Wade Wilson & Jason Garrett as good as Montana? Did they have 2 SB Rings & 2 SB MVPs?
Moss was much talented than Rice, Rice even said that. But Moss didn't work as hard as Rice. I saw with with my own eyes @ games. Many players have said it. that's why he doesn't haven't the records, and that's why he'll never be better than Rice.
I love how Skip says its a point against Rice for having Montana/Young at QB...Uhh, and who is Troy Aikman? Tony Romo clone? And the Cowboys only did two things, run with Smith or pass to Irvin? What about Moose, Novacek and Alvin Harper? Irvin is a GREAT receiver and a hall of fame receiver.....but he's not Jerry Rice.
This whole argument that Rice isn't that good because h had Montana and Young is completely stupid. Yes he had those 2, but HE SILL NEEDS TO CATCH THE BALL! and he did that better than any other receiver. He was a complete receiver that could do anything you ask him to. Block, run great routes, make a td out of a short pass, go for long, run a reverse, great hands. It's no coincidence that he leads all time receiving records BY FAR.
It's no coincidence that the guy with the most receiving yards played with the Greatest Coach & QB ever. It's no coincidence that the guy with the most receiving TDs played for one of the most brilliant Offensive minds in NFL History.
@drbayoms Ok so you're saying Bill walsh is the only reason why Rice has all the career receiving records? If that's the case, other 49ers receiver should've been shattering receiving records as well before Rice came in right? Oh wait, Dwight clarke only got over 1000 yards once in his career and freddie solomon never passed 1000 yards once. Rice was breaking records in NCAA, and when he got drafted he got 927 yards in his rookie yr and then had 11 straight 1000 yd seasons after that.
Those are outstanding numbers. Now tell the Youtube nation this. Who was throwing Rice the ball? Who was coaching the team. Was it Ryan Leaf throwing Rice the ball? Was it Marty Mornhinweg coaching the team?
And you inadvertently proved my point. If Solomon DID NOT ever break the "1,000 yard threshold", BUT Montana still won Super Bowls. What does that tell you? Regardless if it was Dwight Clark, Solomon, Taylor or Rice. The one constant was Montana. 4 Super Bowls, 2 BEFORE RICE.
@drbayoms Rice won 2 superbowls with Seifert, a defensive minded coach. And I just proved that even with QBs like Kemp and Moroski, he still had he numbers. It's dumb that you put having a great coach and great QBs as a Negative for him. How much more records did he need to shatter? He has a considerable lead in most of his career passing numbers over the guys who are 2nd place.
Brett Favre, Emmitt Smith & Jerry Rice. These men represent the all time leading passer, rusher & receiver respectively. Even though they are NOT the greatest at their individual positions. That is not even up for debate.
@drbayoms Yea out of all these men, Jerry Rice is the only one that is considered the run away number 1 in his position by most experts. Brett Favre has too many ints and not enough championships and Emmitt never sniffed the 2000 yard mark once. Rice had single season records, and single game records at the time he retired as well.
Favre has more TDs, Yards & pass completions than ANY other QB in NFL history. And he still is recognized by most REAL fans as NOT being the greatest QB of all time. Terrell Davis rushed for 2,000 yards, is he the greatest? Eric Dickerson rushed for 2.000 yards, is he the greatest? O.J. Simpson rushed for 2,000 yards, is he the greatest? What about Jamal Lewis? Barry was much better than Emmitt, but he has fewer numbers. So stop trying to use Rice's stats. Joe gave him HIS BEST yrs.
@drbayoms "And he still is recognized by most REAL fans as NOT being the greatest QB of all time."... yea and Rice is seen by most REAL fans as being the greatest WR of all time. Shit, even NFL network recently gave him the number 1 spot for best PLAYER of all time. Why can't I use stats to prove the case for Rice? just because you say so? i don't think so. Favre also has the stat for most ints, which is not good. Jim Brown is seen as the greatest RB and he retired with the all time yards.
You are not very bright are you? By stating you should stop using Rice's stats, I am actually trying to save you from embarrassing yourself, that's all. For my purpose, I would like you to continue using stats. Because I get to point out that the most Tds in a season receiving was broken under the tenure of.....(wait for it)....Joe Montana. I get to point out that his Top 2 years receiving, (TDs) were under Montana. 2 Super Bowls, 1 Super Bowl MVP & 1 Offensive POY, WITH MONTANA.
@drbayoms IDK why u keep mentioning Montana as a negative for Rice. Montana is the greatest qb ever and Rice is the greatest wr ever, so what's your point? They did great things with and without each other. You keep bringing up Rice's quarterbacks and coach, but u do realize that WRs rely on quarterback right? If Rice wasn't open so much, Montana and Young wouldn't have thrown his was so many times cus they have the skills to throw the ball to other receivers. Yet they chose to throw to # 80.
The 49ers have played to 12 total NFC Championship Games. 2 of those came before Montana. During Montana's tenure, the 49ers played in 6 NFC Championship Games, winning 4 of them. Joe played in 3 NFC Championship games (winning 2) BEFORE Rice was even in the league.
After Joe left, the 49ers went to 4 NFC Championship Games winning only 1.
Do not try to tell me that Jerry Rice DID NOT have an advantage over Irvin and CERTAINLY OVER MOSS when it came to having a HOF caliber QB. Not buying it!
What a dumb fuck at the end.."How bout Jerry Rice helped to make Montana"..forgetting that Montana already won 2 sbs without him and was putting up phenominal numbers
a very good reason how you would know whos better is by comparing them against deion , deion shut down irvin every time they played, and when he covered rice he got shitted on ..... but i say fukk stats for me the best wide receiver of all time is randy moss, hes just not dedicated to the game but who would u prefer to throw a td pass with 0:01 in the 4th quarter of the game , rice or moss, shit i would take moss hands down he would catch dat bitch with 1 hand , and in triple coverage =)
@TAPFOLKS50 I don't think so Tap. Moss was a great receiver no doubt about it, and if he had good work ethics, he would've been the best of all time. But that's just the thing, he has no good work ethics. You can't count on a player that's not gonna give you 100%. How can you rely on a player that's "somethimesy". That's all part of being a great player.
skip bayless always says bullshit things just to be different and act like he knows some little thing that no one else knows. he always tries to have one point that he rides to death, hes a fucking moron. im a cowboys fan btw jerry rice is better.
Jerry rice never made the big catch?Hes the all time leader in superbowl td's Skipbayless.The system made rice?He had 1000 in a season at the age of 39 and 40 with raiders.Name another wr to even play at 40?
JERRY RICE IS THE GREATEST FOOTBALL PLAYER EVER RICE IN A 12 GAME SEASON SCORED 23 TDS WITH A 3RD STRING QUARTERBACK NEVER SEEN NOBODY DO THAT MOSS HAD 24 IN 16 GAMES
LOL Of course Michael Irvin was the best NFL reciever of all time...his career was cut 10 years short with the neck injury....if it wasn't for that he would have smoked Jerry Rices career stats.
Is Babe Ruth stature as baseball's greatest homerun hitter in dispute because he played in a stadium with a short right-field porch and had Gehrig batting behind him? Why do people entertain and consider the Santorum that oozes out of this guy's mouth every time he opines about...anything?
nobody has rice numbers and never will he was the best receiver of all time he was the michael jordan of wide outs so to say he's not the best your just talking out your ass jerry rice is the greatest receiver of all time numbers don't lie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think Randy Moss AND Michael Irvin is better than Jerry Rice in a vacuum. A combination of Joe Montana, Steve Young, and Walsh's West Coast offense will be beneficial to any WR. Moss MADE Culpepper and tore the league up in his rookie year. Michael Irvin was a perennial performer in the clutch and put Troy Aikman, who's not the most talented QB, in the HOF. Dallas was a run-first team back then too, so his numbers aren't as good.
@WillMorebucks HE HAD HIS BEST YEARS WITH A 3RD STRING QB AND HE MADE STEVE YOUNG IN THE WORDS OF MONTANA AND YOUNG STEVE:I HAD TO GROW TO JERRYS LEVEL HE FORCED ME TO BECOME GREAT CUS I DIDNT WANNA LET HIM DOWN MONTANA: I WAS A GOOD QB BEFORE JERRY HE MADE ME GREAT AND A H.O.F SO THAT STATEMENT WAS BULLSHIT WALSH HE IS THE MOST DOMINATING PLAYER I HAD AND HAVE EVER SEEN
All caps doesn't make you right... Joe Montana was Joe Montana before Rice got there. And even after he did, Rice wasn't that good his first few seasons. Montana made Rice, I don't know where you got that quote from. As for Steve, the coaching scheme did more for him than Rice ever did. Steve is "Mr. West Coast," he mastered that w/o Rice. Rice is the greatest receiver ever statistically, but based on pure talent exclusively Moss and Irvin got him.
I totally agree. Moss should go into the HOF on first ballot. He affected defenses the way Deion Sanders affected offenses. Rice was good but he did not cause DCs to worry the way Moss has done.
Well said!. Finally someone who speaks the truth. And not what the media regurgitates. Everything you said is correct! Michael's team put an emphasis on the run. I know fans (especially Bostonians) like to live in the moment. Yes, the greatest to EVER coach an NFL Team is named "Bill". But his last name is not, Parcells or Belichick, it's Walsh. The Greatest QB EVER, PLAYED in Cali, but he was not BORN there. He was born in Pennsylvania. His name is Joe, not Tom. Rice benefited GREATLY from that
If I had to choose between them, it would be the hardest decision ever. Irvin was a great player with a great QB. Rice was a great player with a great QB.
@DCProductions77 Hmm lets see here: both hall of famers, troy was the winnngest QB in the 1990's, troy won 3 super bowls...he sucked? Granted, joe montana was an AMAZING QB. no question about it, but troy was a good QB too
@Junior71392 i could win too if i had one of the best running backs ever, surely an everydown running back. Michael irvin was a great playmakers. And skip is right, when in doubt they did throw it to 88. he got that part right. Deion sanders was a shut down corner. And im not even going to cover charles haley and other great people on the defense. Jay novecheck? wow, amazing tight end. And don't get me started with the offensive line. He had too many weapons.
@Junior71392 Skip is right Michael Irvin help make troy aikman. Hes just another terry bradshaw. Not even in the conversation of the greatest quarterbacks.
This cements the reason why Skip can and should never be taken seriously. Next thing he'll do is argue that Flozell Adams was a better player than Gary Zimmerman.

but you have to agree peyton manning means alot more to his team and is a better qb then tom brady...i mean come on the patriots went 11-5 without tom brady and were a tiebreaker from making the playoffs meanwhile the colts cannot BUY a win this year
MLBLV10 4 months ago
if tom brady is the greatest quarterback of all-time why couldnt he beat the new york FOOTBALL giants when it mattered the most?? when brady got hurt matt cassel came in and did just as well, then he went to the chiefs and GARBAGE, im not saying brady isnt a tremendous quarterback, he definetly is one of the best qb's ever, but to say he is the best is a stretch especially with the cheating scandals and stuff like that.

You jackasses know shit about football? Brady a product? Gimme a fuckin break with his mental toughness desire and ability he would have been starter anywhere in the league. It takes a great qb, coach and defense to win the sb so they are all as important as eachother. Brady will go down as the BEST when he's done

jpdeschaine 5 months ago
@samEsam24 Yeah, which is why he was still good on the shit hole Raiders team in the Superbowl right? You can say that about any good player "Oh hes a product of a great system" "Oh he had a great offensive line". Get over it, football is a team sport.
zDallasCowboys008z 5 months ago
@zDallasCowboys008z team sport yeahhhh?...but were comparing two players not two teams dumbass...and what kind of shit hole team makes it to a super bowl? dude im a 49ers fan im just beinfg real...look at the colts team with out manning? he's not a product...tom bradys' team did fine when he missed a year...bigger product then jerry rice for sure.
samEsam24 5 months ago

Read the "dig", but answer my question. Was Wade Wilson & Jason Garrett as good as Montana? Did they have 2 SB Rings & 2 SB MVPs?

keithcutt 6 months ago
I love how Skip says its a point against Rice for having Montana/Young at QB...Uhh, and who is Troy Aikman? Tony Romo clone? And the Cowboys only did two things, run with Smith or pass to Irvin? What about Moose, Novacek and Alvin Harper? Irvin is a GREAT receiver and a hall of fame receiver.....but he's not Jerry Rice.

Jerry Rice put the Raiders in the Super Bowl? Actually Balco put the Raiders into the Super Bowl that year.
Drugs did not cloud Michael's efforts to win those 3 Super Bowls. Drugs did not stop Brett Favre from going to 2 Super Bowls and winning one of them.
drbayoms 6 months ago
This whole argument that Rice isn't that good because h had Montana and Young is completely stupid. Yes he had those 2, but HE SILL NEEDS TO CATCH THE BALL! and he did that better than any other receiver. He was a complete receiver that could do anything you ask him to. Block, run great routes, make a td out of a short pass, go for long, run a reverse, great hands. It's no coincidence that he leads all time receiving records BY FAR.
ez3002008 6 months ago
@ez3002008
It's no coincidence that the guy with the most receiving yards played with the Greatest Coach & QB ever. It's no coincidence that the guy with the most receiving TDs played for one of the most brilliant Offensive minds in NFL History.
drbayoms 6 months ago
@drbayoms Ok so you're saying Bill walsh is the only reason why Rice has all the career receiving records? If that's the case, other 49ers receiver should've been shattering receiving records as well before Rice came in right? Oh wait, Dwight clarke only got over 1000 yards once in his career and freddie solomon never passed 1000 yards once. Rice was breaking records in NCAA, and when he got drafted he got 927 yards in his rookie yr and then had 11 straight 1000 yd seasons after that.
ez3002008 6 months ago
@ez3002008 THANK YOU, SAY IT AGAIN. If it was all Montana, then ever WR he ever played with should be a HOF'er
keithcutt 6 months ago
@ez3002008
4 Super Bowls, 2 BEFORE RICE.
drbayoms 6 months ago
@drbayoms Rice won 2 superbowls with Seifert, a defensive minded coach. And I just proved that even with QBs like Kemp and Moroski, he still had he numbers. It's dumb that you put having a great coach and great QBs as a Negative for him. How much more records did he need to shatter? He has a considerable lead in most of his career passing numbers over the guys who are 2nd place.
ez3002008 6 months ago
@ez3002008
Brett Favre, Emmitt Smith & Jerry Rice. These men represent the all time leading passer, rusher & receiver respectively. Even though they are NOT the greatest at their individual positions. That is not even up for debate.
drbayoms 6 months ago
@drbayoms Yea out of all these men, Jerry Rice is the only one that is considered the run away number 1 in his position by most experts. Brett Favre has too many ints and not enough championships and Emmitt never sniffed the 2000 yard mark once. Rice had single season records, and single game records at the time he retired as well.
ez3002008 6 months ago
@ez3002008
Joe gave him HIS BEST yrs.
drbayoms 6 months ago
@drbayoms "And he still is recognized by most REAL fans as NOT being the greatest QB of all time."... yea and Rice is seen by most REAL fans as being the greatest WR of all time. Shit, even NFL network recently gave him the number 1 spot for best PLAYER of all time. Why can't I use stats to prove the case for Rice? just because you say so? i don't think so. Favre also has the stat for most ints, which is not good. Jim Brown is seen as the greatest RB and he retired with the all time yards.
ez3002008 6 months ago
@ez3002008
2 Super Bowls, 1 Super Bowl MVP & 1 Offensive POY, WITH MONTANA.
drbayoms 6 months ago

Not buying it!

a very good reason how you would know whos better is by comparing them against deion , deion shut down irvin every time they played, and when he covered rice he got shitted on ..... but i say fukk stats for me the best wide receiver of all time is randy moss, hes just not dedicated to the game but who would u prefer to throw a td pass with 0:01 in the 4th quarter of the game , rice or moss, shit i would take moss hands down he would catch dat bitch with 1 hand , and in triple coverage =)
TAPFOLKS50 6 months ago
@TAPFOLKS50 I don't think so Tap. Moss was a great receiver no doubt about it, and if he had good work ethics, he would've been the best of all time. But that's just the thing, he has no good work ethics. You can't count on a player that's not gonna give you 100%. How can you rely on a player that's "somethimesy". That's all part of being a great player.

@thug8200
