"speed" is the most important part of her jump. the faster she goes, the higher she jumps. that made her quite different from everybody else! not to mention the spell bounding performance that she delivers throughout the whole program! she truly is one of a kind.

While asada goes to her own rink to practice yuna had to go place to place looking for ice rink to practice which was really early in the morning or late night. It was just yuna and her mom shile asada had all the supports whe could ever get. DON'T EVEN TRY TO COMPARE YUNA AND ASADA TOGETHER CUZ ASADA IS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO YUNA'S SKATING

The fact is in korea there is no ice rink for figure skating

Many skaters from Nicole Bobek, Sasha Cohen ,Sarah Huges, Tara Lipinski ... all prodigies .... they nvr really mastered the technique on the lutz ... i just wonder if it's better to take their time and really learn it instead of rushing into it. I agree with you, provided that young skaters get the technique right, it's ok to try the difficult jumps early .. what i mean is, this should not come at the expense of compromsing technique.

Even Ando Miki jumps 3-2, Asada Mao jumped 3-2 they are obiviously one of the top skaters. Since when did ASADA Mao jumped 3-3-3 or 3A-3? Did she ever jumped that in any competition? Or did she ever successfuly jumped over such combination jumps? Plz, do enlighten other viewers. If not , stop lying.

@idansmiles09 Actually Mao jumped a 3-3-3 at Japanese Nationals in 2002. Not trying to spread hate, just the facts :)

ANYWAY, Yu-Na's 3-3 is just amazing. There are so many elements that go into the jump combination, it always amazes me how she can keep everything together and yet go in for another triple jump.

in 2002, mao was 12 and while it was an exciting program by someone so young, neither her triple axel nor her 3-3-3 were fully rotated. The flip was the only jump that was fully rotated in her 3-3-3. Both the loop and the toe after it were badly under-rotated. Many skaters try to do too much too young and not get the right technique. Under the COP, it's not what you "seem" to be doing but how correctly you do it.

@lutz84 I know how old she was, and of course they weren't fully rotated. However she did "achieve" them and did what most skaters her age (then and now) did not have the skill or stamina to pull off. I also have to disagree with you...the sooner a skater can learn to gain more rotation in a jump (without injury) and keep learning, the more likely they are to not loose that skill when they are older. I'm not sure why you are bringing up COP when it was even in place at that competition.

@gabbynewneo Yes i agree with you that she did attempt it and that in itself is an achievement. The reason why i brought up COP is that under this system, "attempting" it well (which i think Mao did) isn't rewarded. Under the 6.0 system, what she did might be considered positively but with the COP, if a jump is even slightly under-rotated, they penalise it. The trouble with claiming to master the lutz at 12 (or younger) is that if the technique is wrong, it's hard to correct it.

That is a MONSTER textbook lutz- the height, distance, absolute correct edge, delayed!! rotation (you can actually see her rotating), OVER-rotating on the landing! (no underotated flutz here, folks).
