If you are going to learn to skydive, do not do it here. Your AFF instructors know what you should be learning, do not try to convince them that you know everything, just cuz you saw it here. They will not be impressed. While skydiving is really a lot of fun, knowing what to do when you get into trouble will help save your life. Treat the sport the respect it deserves. You may get many second chances in life, this is not one of them. Do it right!
I think the idea behind these videos is nice and potentially a good training tool (with the disclaimer about using a properly certified instructor, etc.) Just one question from a teaching stand point - Why do you demonstrate one exit method and then show videos using a different method then what you demonstrated?
@youssef5671 if you mean parachute jumping, nope. Same thing. Get out of an airplane and use a parachute to land. Best sport in the world. We prefer skydiving however.
I've done static jumps before for the army, but skydive is a hole different game! I've been planning, saving money, and watching a lot o skydive videos to better prepare myself for it! Thanks for making time to make this video.
yes, this happens to all skydivers eventually and it kills us. We all know going in that eventually we won't be able to move our arms because of the wind, but we do it anyway. It's why no one has ever done more than 17 skydives.
wtf are you taking about... there are people who have done thousands of skydives. just to get certified to practice wingsuiting, you must complete tons of normal skydives.
Look, it's ok if you've never skydived before and don't know these things. You don't have to come on youtube and start talking shit just to make yourself seem cooler. A lot of people don't know about the "all skydivers dying by 17 jumps" thing. It's cool.
Holy crap! I'd only expect you to be 275 lbs and you're telling me that you weigh 465lbs. That is insane. You should definitely be studied for science. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
@JagHarEnFinne old reply but wtf 10? where do you live at? 38 jumps by static line course, or 25 jumps with AFF start. after those you can do everything on your own. even tho you would be on jump 37, instructor still needs to check your equipment and check you have made right choice for landing patterns, exit altitude and negotiated with other skydivers what you all are going to do. we have top of the world safety procedures here :)
i thought you just jump and scream for your life and then when the dude tells you to you pull the little cord thingy and then you go WHOA, THAT WAS SICK!!!!
Thanks for training me expert village! Im going solo skydiving this week using your info. I dont think I'll need an instructor now. I have you.... Are you guys looking to get sued?
you can get rid of your fear by facing it or getting a professional help from a psychologist. I'm going sailing but its scary to think how deep the sea is and its so dark too.
All of these Expert Village videos on skydiving should state that the video does not, in any way, replace proper training from a certified USPA (United States Parachute Association) instructor, or foreign equivalent, and that failure to adhere to this rule will likely result in serious injury or death.

Learn to skydive on the internet. Wow. Comments such as "pull the little cord thingy" show EXACTLY why this shouldn't be done.

why does the video end with free fly exits and no proper stable exits like the dude is trying to show....

whaty if the wind is pushing to much on ur body and then your arms can reach the thing to bring the parachute out...is that possible?

how many assisted jumps would it take before you can do everything on your own?
hawker39 2 years ago
you usually have to check with the "AFF" course, but it is usually around 10 jumps.
If you want to become an instructor, just look it up on google.

Fear of height has nothing to do it with skydive. Really. You will be so high your mind won't even realize how high you are ;)
