Hungry baby is very very hungry lol. I got my blue and gold at 4 months...I remember he used to chase me around the kitchen every time he heard the blender because he knew it was breakfast/dinner time and he'd tug on my pant-leg as if saying "HURRY UP MOM!!!" I miss him being that small :)
no..but my feeling is that birds do not squawk without reason. They should not scream and if they do, then they have not been raised properly. None of my birds scream..and the babies I sell do not either..if the owner follows my guidance.
@music59 It's not recommended to buy a baby that young. Maybe on 1-3 hand feedings a day if you want to hand feed it. Remember to find a mentor to teach you because the baby's life is in your hands. Also remember that macaws are *not* beginner birds. They are ugodly loud screamers, they make lots of messes, and need lots of attention every day!
8 weeks? Wow! I'm currently feeding 3 seven week old B&G's. This little guy has no feathers compared to them! LOL He looks great though! Nice and fuzzy!
the video clip is that of a approx 5 week old Blue & Gold Macaw being syringe hand fed. It takes months before they are actually fully weaned from the baby formula but they will eat many different things on their own during the process. Pet stores and breeders wean their baby birds WAY to early..I don't take them off the formula until they are totally ready.

Do you only have to feed them the formula? And if so, when do they start eating other stuff?
