You won't find an artist like her at a talent show. Such things grows during a long time and when the time is there, only a few will make it happen.
FINALLY someone who agrees with me! I miss the times of yesteryear when singers sung only with a microphone and told a story. I guess these days that is not exciting as getting on the stage doing all of this silly choreography that gets in the way of a singer properly singing because they are moving around too much. Where is the class, style, grace, wit, and sophistication in the music industry these days? Shirley had all of these qualities and even today she hasn't changed

Look at her performance in London on YouTube BBC Proms 2009. Or search for "As God Is My Witness" "The Apartment" "Almost There" "The Performance" You will enjoy her as she is today.
I always tear up when I see this video, Shirley's voice is simply the best, no doubt about it. The emotion she conveys, the look in her eyes..you can see she means every word of this song. God bless you Dame Shirley..and my love to you always my darling. =)
