cows and chickens were meant to be eaten. That is their purpose, that is why they were bred for.. dogs are not....Dogs have been by the side of humans for ages, not for food, but for companionship, protection and many other reasons...In my eyes, any civilization that eats an animal that has been by its side for ages and ages, well, umm, that civilization, country, state, city, town or any other word you want to use, if TOTALLY FCUKED UP.
@havoc151976 sad to say in some countries it is a delicacy. Especially in rural areas where bystanders are usually hanging out and are heavy drinkers. In our place, drunkards usually kill stray dogs/cats to go with the beer. I never actually tasted one but they say it taste like chicken. Some people are even afraid to let their pets out during night time lest they became victims (becoming the bystanders next meal). My grandmother's pet turn out to be like that. Pet went out pet never came back.
how is it all that different from the treatment of cows and chickens? have you ever seen a video of the american chicken industry? what about one of slaughter houses? i'll be moving to busan in a couple weeks, and i'll check it out, but when i lived in seoul a few years ago, the dog markets weren't that different from other meat markets. i'm not saying the dog market is ok, i just think it's funny how people respond with sympathy to some animals and not others.
What losers they have nothing better to do? I hope there asses get kicked all those dogs should gang up on them!! I would kick there fucking asses into the ground!
What the hell? I was told there was no dog market left in Busan? Where is Gupo? I live in Namgu...is it closeby? Maybe I can set up a protest with some classmates. Jesus.
Most Koreans will tell you that there is no dog market in Busan. But there is. Its in Gupo Dong at the back of the big clothes/food/household market. Gupo Dong is close to Hwamyeong if I remember correctly. They eye foreigners with suspicion there, if you go you may even catch site of the odd caged goat or indeed anything.
Been there. Seen that, and how the dogs are blow torched to bring the blood into the meat, or at least that's how it was explained to me, as far as why it's done that way. I'll never forget the sound of a dog SCREAMING whilst being torched alive. NEVER.
This isn't a knock against Korea, just a knock against those who practice such barbarity. Most Koreans I've personally met are opposed to the practice.
