This shot just defies logic. I can't believe it even exists. Being at the exact spot, the right altitude, the exact moment a tornado touches down while rolling film, facing the right direction, and not getting killed or having the camera destroyed during visible daylight hours is like scratching off the winning powerball ticket the exact same instant you get struck by a meteorite. Completely inconceivable odds.
No, there's no way this a fake. All the particles physics, momentum, the lighting, the sound, the motion of the camera and the debris, the torsion of the tree as it's being struck, it's natural and real. With a degree in graphic design and as a 6 year professional printer and digital photo-restorer as well as having spent years working under Adobe certified trainers and multimedia specialists, I can assure this is the real deal. This is truly a pioneering piece of video.
Do you know who shot this video and where? Did the driver see a funnel overhead? Although it's possible this is just a gustnado, the power it's generating right from the off suggests that this is more likely a micro-scale feature at the bottom of a funnel cloud that just became a tornado right then. Regardless of what it is, this video needs to be brought to the NSSL's attention if it hasn't already. Just stunning.
Um, I'm shocked at this to be honest. I've spent many hours of my life watching tornadic storms on video and in real life. I have never in all that time seen a view of suction vortices in actual contact with the ground at point blank range much less actually see them captured in what appears to be the formative stage. If this is a hoax, it is of superior caliber, but I'm voting authentic. This would have to be of great interest to the scientific community. I'm really surprised at only 599 views.
