  • Gotta say u get amazing videos by only a videocamera, you have to be some sort of wizard :D

  • @sahiblindberg btw also song and band are one of my favorites:)

  • man, its sad how people nowadays go to muse concert and FILM one of their best songs. i would go crazy, sing as loud as i could, jump,.. crappy times

  • Poor coldplay fans missed out.

  • The quality of your videos is insanely awesome and I thank you for recording this stuff so we can watch what we miss but seriously how could you be so still recording this?? I dont do this at gigs cause I jump and go crazy enjoying the live music at its fullest

  • After last year's horrible Halftime show, it is Time for a change. Repost this on to every MUSE video to try and get them to perform at SUPER BOWL XLVI.

It is time music turned around. It is time that alternative and rock were to become what we hear on the radio, not shitty Katy Perry or Pitbull. It is time for a MUSIC REVOLUTION!

REPOST ON EVERY MUSE VIDEO AND UPVOTE ANY MESSAGE LIKE THIS ONE YOU SEE

  • Perfect song for the current state of this fucked planet. Hope all u lemmings are ready for some crazy shit to go down...

  • 1:38-1:42 = BACKING TRACK. Where is the "S" in "victorious" coming from? How come he backs completely off the mic while holding that note yet the volume coming out the speakers stays exactly the same and then an S comes out of nowhere? And don't tell me the audio is out of sync with the video, watch the drum hits, they're spot on.

    NOT lip-syncing. BACKING TRACK.

Again, I enjoy Muse's music and live show, but this offends me. Real rock n' roll isn't afraid of screwups.

  • @marlahooch12 Dude... you realize that Matt bought the Neumann KMS 105 Mics SPECIFICALLY for his singing technique which is NOT singin near the mic. (Thom Yorke also uses the techniques to a great extent) The Neumann KMS 105 picks up sound in 180 degree-cone , (dont believe me, go Google the mics). You say u are a musician but clearly you know nothing... I've played more gigs than you have trolled

PS. Can't I watch any Lolla Muse vids w/o seeing your B.S?

  • @ZeniBass I'll say whatever I want, thanks. And I highly doubt you've played or gone to more gigs than me.

Their own fans admit they use backing tracks on their message board, including the main riff to Stockholm Syndrome, etc. Google "Muse backing tracks" and it's the first post.

Mic shmic. Doesn't explain the consistency or the fact that you never hear an out of pitch note from him. Maybe Matt could learn a thing or two from Thom about growing a pair and risking a bad note now and then.

  • @marlahooch12 if you read it youll see that all the backing is just extra backing (meaning theyre still playing the same notes live). did you know that stockholm syndrome's guitar part is actually half synth in the recording? they had a computer synth find the exact midpoint between his guitar playing and a car engine reving. how fake would they look if it wasnt so beastly live? dunno about singing backing but i doubt they do. muse say that they wanted nothing but to be a true live band...

  • @MusicNearside Nice to have someone respond in a civil manner! haha. That's cool about Stockholm. I know it's all "extra backing" and I'd very strongly argue they do it with vocals too...I dunno man I just think they're too good for that. Everyone thinks I'm knocking them as a band/saying they're lipsyncing, I never said that. I think there's a lot to be said for a band with thick sounds on albums that still sound great live as a raw 3-piece with maybe keyboard sequencing (Rush, Police, GD)

  • i thought he was about to do the power slide like he did at glastonbury at the end of the song

  • WHO DARES SAY MUSE USE LOOPS LIVE. :O They are renown for their live act, and if you knew about the equipment they use, Matt and Chris' dont just use one amp...they use a cabinet/speaker system with several heads and Matt uses Fuzz a lot of the time to get that 'full' effect.

Its not trickery, its just the sound of the best band in the world.

  • @gibbietube chubby? matt? what? hell naw lol

  • Saw them at Voodoo New Orleans last October. Great show and venue. Then this year at Lolla. Equally great on both aspects.

If anyone thinks backing is bad, then Lenny Kravitz must suck because from what I understand is that he tracks all his stuff himself in studio, then tours with a full band. So should he play all parts on tour to not be called a "cheAter"?

Get over backings as Muse uses absolute MINIMUM if any at all. There are so many nuances from show to show in vocals and instruments

  • Matt is like nothing else! I wish I had seen this live!

  • Really..I want to say I like this band, but my gut tells me that this is fear mongering.

  • Man I wish I went to Lolla. My cousins live in Chicago :/ Could've just visited them for a while.

  • My favorite show after foo's !

  • outstanding! makes me wanna get a new camera. lol!

  • An amazing night! I am so ready for next year!

  • Nice man. I was at the front railing of the second section for this. SICK performance.

  • Anyone who thinks these guys loop is a moron. Yes, there are only three people in the band. Where do all the ambient sounds come from? The keyboard player who tours with them and is unlit behind the bass player. Bellamy is an insane musician, but he can't play ALL the instruments at the same time. Also, listen to his strumming and his slides and bends on the guitar- he's clearly playing. Also, I have no face anymore because Muse ROCKED IT OFF at LOLLA

  • have they been wearing those same clothes for over a week, because they were all wearing the exact same stuff when i saw them in Indiana

  • Dude! 1:29-1:31 he makes the illuminati eye symbol, just like at the Grammys. He does it when he sings "they will not control us." that's why I love muse, they're so smart and sing for what they believe. THE ILLUMINATI WILL NEVER OVERTAKE US

  • @marlahooch12

Im a die hard Muse fan and i already been to two of there shows (Staples Center and LA Rising) and yeah they were awsome but dont you realize all the equipment they have! Unless you get really distracted by their lights (dont blame ya they are crazy) both times ive seen them there were a couple of times that it took me time to realize what song it was cuz i really couldnt get the beat so how can you say they use computers! -_- They perform their AWSOMENESS Live and without comput

  • @sworm16 i second that! cause they asked morgan on live performances just to handle the misc sounds that they add in the studio. MORGAN IS NOT A COMPUTER!..=="

  • I was at very front for the first time. This performance really topped the one I saw at the united center.

  • @Marlahooch12 if you were a die hard muse fan you'd notice that their live performances are way different then studio version, especially when they improv. The reason it sounds good is cause they're insanely talented and have expensive ass equipment. I can almost guarentee they don't lipsync

  • @SlashRocks12396 I never said they lipsync. They get a lot of "help" from backing tracks. There's a big difference. I have no problem with samples or loops or intro tapes or whatever, but I think backing tracks are killing live rock music and it makes me sad. I'm not a "die hard" Muse fan, but I own their albums, I've seen them five times since 2006, and I've seen enough rock shows over the years to know when a band is involved in some degree of trickery.

  • @marlahooch12 they play backing tracks in resistance and some other songs. it's hard with them only being a 3 man band. so in the studio they loop of course and live, well that's kind of hard to incorporate all of those instruments live without a backing track. i wouldn't call it trickery either, i don't think they're trying to hide anything.

  • @WheresThePopcornProd I'm not talking about samples of the keyboard parts or loops, those I have no problem with (although I appreciate that they finally hired a keyboard player and second guitarist). The part that disappoints me is they use backing tracks for the lead vocals, main guitar riffs, etc. so that everything sounds full and thick and there is no chance for human error.

  • @marlahooch12 I'm fairly certain that's not true. There are subtle nuances in all the song that differentiate them from the album versions. For instance, the guitar noises at 3:01 and 3:03 are not on the studio version

  • @marlahooch12 nope wrong man... better luck next time

  • How do diehard Muse fans not notice that every live show is perfect? It doesn't matter how close or far from the mic Bellamy is and no matter what you see them playing/singing on the big screen, the vocals and main tracks to their songs always come out the speakers perfect and 100% on pitch.

Sorry, no rock band bats 1.000 100% of the time. Something stinks here. I love their albums and their shows are fun but someone has to say it. Cheating with computers is for pop acts, not rock bands.

  • We were missing Staind!

  • @ficoscrub that's to your eternal credit....

  • Muse! Chicago was rockin this weekend....Great lineup! ........OMG

  • AWESOME!

  • how did you manage to get in a camera like that?! please tell me that plastic bags and lube weren't involved ...

the vids are amazing man. really well shot!

  • @frissonic It's just a standard video camera. Lollapalooza is cool with any non professional equipment. Although a security guard did give me crap near the end of Foo Fighters, not sure what was up with that. I've recorded tons of footage from 2010/11 and had plenty of security standing around me.

  • @frissonic security is absolute shite! i saw people in there with SLRs which aren't allowed. They didn't check bags well at all

  • I am shocked at how good they sound live

  • I'm pissed they weren't on the live lollapalooza youtube thing.. freakin coldplay.

  • a small consolation prize for not being able to see them this time..... thanks!

  • Great quality and close up! thanks for posting :D

  • nice job man

  • Finally, a band that sounds like their album. Really well done.

  • @wpollock1 correction, sounds better than their albums and thats hard to do!

  • wow. a video that says its in 1080p that actually is. thank you.

  • i was here last night in the very front and it was FUCKIN AWESOME!!! best show ive ever seen by any band

  • I just wish that they would have streamed Muse last night in stead of Coldplay...or at the very least streamed both bands :(

  • ok i hear that coldplay and muse play at the same hour!! WTF who make the schedule like that? if i was there i will totally fucking angry because i love both bands!!

  • @tracegirl1616 too bad coldplay is shit live.

  • @tracegirl1616 i know....and eminem was playing on saturday without any other big band playing

  • @tracegirl1616 they need good bands playing at the same time so that they dont have 90,000+ people at one concert

  • @tracegirl1616

yeah i agree thats retarded, i wouldve loved to have seen both of them, but you had to choose one :p

  • @tracegirl1616 thats right i was fucking pissed the fuck off

  • i honestly thought muse had a bigger crowd

  • i went 2

  • I was thereeeeee, but just on the other side!

    It freakin rocked \m/

  • I'm real curious to know who had a bigger audience, Muse or Coldplay?

  • @Ladanmft are you fucking serious

  • @lwnVolleyball6. I was just wondering. I saw Coldplay's performance live and the audience looked huge. I'm in LA so I'm used to Coachella. The audience for both seemed pretty equal. I'm curious to know an objective answer. Not subjective

  • @Ladanmft muse fan, but i think coldplay had more "fans"

  • @ZelenaBananaa nah, i was at the festival all day, and almost everyone was there for muse in the end that i talked to. it seemed like muse had a bit bigger of a fanbase

  • @wv4life29 I think Coldplay has more fans, but Muse has more loyal fans. I think when you think internationally, Coldplay are much more well known than Muse, especially within people who are not a fan of this genre. I am just giving an objective point of view. I personally have seen both of them live several times and both are great. Coldplay is more calm (Chris Martin refers to Coldplay as "soft rock") whereas Muse is more hard rock.

  • @ZelenaBananaa . Thanks for your civil mature answer :).

  • Wow amazing quality! You should work for a network :)

  • @Ladanmft these were the people in towers above the fans

  • Were as many people there for Muse as Coldplay? Coldplay looked like 2 million.

  • @izzatluv there were 90,000 at the whole festival. i assume there were 89,000 at muse and 1,000 at coldplay. they still dont deserve even that

  • @lwnVolleyball6 LOL I like both bands. ;) Coldplay had an immense crowd. But Muse might have too.

  • @izzatluv yeah i wasnt at coldplay but i imagine it was a decent size

  • @lwnVolleyball6 muse and coldplay are both great bands

  • @butlerbulldogs05 we were chanting "coldplay sucks" XD

  • I used a panasonic tm700 for all the lolla videos from this year/last and the tool videos. The rest is on a panasonic zs5 point and shoot in video mode

  • Fantastic. Thanks for posting.

  • WHY COULDN"T THEY STREAM THIS LAST NIGHT UGH!!!!!!!

  • @theshamu11 I agree. I logged onto the Lollapalooza channel last night hoping to see them on the live stream, but they only streamed Coldplay. I live in Chicago, but I was not able to go to the shows. :-(

  • great footage looks professional

  • @bubbakja the quality of this vid (and your other vids of Lollapalooza) are amazing, what type of camera did you use?
