My academic credentials sucked this senior year, so that's why I enlisted in the Marines instead. If I wanted a commission, I would've gone to Air Force Academy.
regular basic training should be required by all cadets in all acadameys they should also do a year active duty before going cadets training cadets to be officers dosent tickle our fancy active duty
@mello27 I understand your point of view, however, we do go through four years as opposed to 6-13 weeks of training. After graduation, We go to other schools for another 18 months to 2 years.
This is definitely not like going to undergrad studies at a 4 year average public/private school.
At a normal university, missing class due to partying too much the night before means that you could flunk the course and have to pay more money in student loans to re-take the class.
At the AFA, the same incident could get you expelled or hours of push-ups and cleaning toilets.
I watch these videos to motivate me that much more to make me run harder, push one more up, and also getting that grade. Ive been wanting to go to the AFA since I was five.
World's greatest air, space, and cyberspace force! As an prior enlisted AF guy it's kinda funny how during the 'fall out for corrections' the senior cadets sometimes yell at them for their CIVILIAN shirts being untucked and other civie clothes corrections, that is just silly! lol. On another note, I freakin love AF officers, especially the pilots, they are the coolest ever.
@ellul92 Not luck my friend, but blood, sweat, and tears. Every Service Academy was brought to where it is today by those three things. We appreciate the compliment, but this institution brings up the leaders of the world's best air, space, and cyberspace force. Remember that brother :) The Air Force Academy has a foreign application program, but realize this. To be in the United States Air Force, you must be a United States citizen. Good luck friend!
Get in touch with your local Air Force Academy Admissions Liaison Officer and go to the Academy website to get more info about the Academy. In addition, there are summer programs at the Academy you can go to and see firsthand what it is like there. Then you can decide if the Air Force Academy is for you.
hey, i am a sophomore in high school. I play Football, and got real good grades. I have about 150 college letter roughly. I want to join the Air Force or Army after college, should I go to Air Force Academy? what's it like?
You Americans are LUCKY to have such a distinguished training academy in your country, you must be very proud! I wish I could join the USAFA but alas I'm European :(
All the push ups and intense training shit makes me go nuts, I want a piece of that action biatch!!!
i have the deepest respect for these people. i do not think there is any way i could make the commitment that they, and many other like them, have made. Thank You for serving this great nation!
I accept America's challenge. I accept the risks. For the betterment of our great nation, for the remembrance of our former brethren, and for the many successes of today, I accept the challenge. God bless the Class of 2015, and I thank you.
You should be very proud of you grandfather. The SR-71 is a unique aircraft with unsurpassed capabilities, even to this day. Best of luck to you as you strive to become a cadet at the Air Force Academy!
Sign up for as many "Advanced Placement" and "Dual Enrollment courses" as you can, heavy on the math and science. Participate in extracurricular activities like sports, student government, Civil Air Patrol, Junior ROTC, community service, any activities where you can improve physical conditioning and develop leadership skills. Lastly, regardless of age, you can contact your local Air Force Academy Admissions Liaison Officer at the Air Force Academy website to get started.
I really want to get into the academy. I'm going to be a sophmore in highschool. Any one have any suggestions to get ready for the academy? I would greatly appreciate it.
Im in the process of applying and i hope to be on that bus next in as class of 2016, Because i am willing to take on the challenge of attending USAFA. Ty for posting this video just gives me that much more motivation !
Work hard and you can be on that bus. Regardless of your age, you can contact your local Air Force Academy Admissions Liaison Officer at the Air Force Academy website to get started.

snipingace34 6 months ago
@MileHiGuy51 Excellent advice, MileHiGuy51!! A few suggestions of my own to offer:
Asking for letters of recommendation from your PO, your arresting officer, your bail bondsman, and the judge who handled your cases will also help!!
Also, using certain "buzz phrases" like "harmonically converging" and "finding your oneness with humanity and the universe" will help as well!!
-Best of Luck,
