3. How long have you had your retainer? Are your teeth already "set" in the place they should be?

When I 1st got my retainer, I went without wearing it for about a week. My teeth moved a lot (when they shouldn't have). I put my retainer in, kept it in for a few days, and my teethed moved back to the place they were supposed to be. Does this help?

@MJBailey00 I've had my Plate since October 2010, so a bit under a Year... That's a fair time & they keep moving. I'm not as Happy with my Teeth as my Brothers are.

@WhosAtroll Probably not. If you wear your retainer for the next 2-3 days and it's still hurting, let your orthodontist know. They probably need to trim it up a little.

@MetalMouthJeff Braces came off January of 2009. Never had headgear, but I had friends that had to go through it. At least you don't have to wear it during the day.

@danieeel31 You can get a permanent retainer on top and bottom. But I recommend only getting the bottom one. If you get one on top, it's a permanent lisp. (yes. it's forever)

wat happens if there r minor movements with ur teeth, would it affect the retainers?

@Cynth1a94 If the minor movements are from not wearing your retainer, usually you can fix that by pushing your retainer in and keeping it in until your teeth move back into place (you'll know when it doesn't feel tight in your mouth anymore).
