Beloved Karen,I can't express how much I luv u and have been looking for you since I was young.U only leave your beautiful images that can see here make
me cry whenever listening your immortal music. These are still inside my heart forever.
Love this song, by Henry Mancenni's daughter which the Carpenters sang. Only Karen could make it alive with the feeling it needed, I am always so sad at the heart ache this wonderful gifted woman felt; she always smiled but the pain came through her voice, in the emotions she gave life to her songs.
This One. is the Most Simple and Honest and so Pretty. And Everyone, you go to your Loved Ones. and you make sure you have told everyone you Love how much you apprecitate them and how much you Love them and how Wonderful Life is While They are in your World. (EltonJ) Every Single Day. Every Single Day for Karen.
This voice of an angel taken away to soon... When I got married I was aked what song do I want for the first dance.. This was the song I had always wanted for when that day happened. The reaction of most people had been tears.Mostly because of her voice but also the dedication. I dedicated the song to everyone. Family friends loved ones.. It went over well.
I have and always will love her (them). I still play there music and I fill my home with a voice of an angel
to BigChiefLtd and Karenfan09 you speak as you find and Karen would have made it with a decent producer because all she needed was a break whereas he fashioned her to his idea of what he wanted or thought she should be
So simple, so profound. A great message sung by one of the greatest female vocalists EVER! Karen, thank you for sharing your gift. You will be missed!!!!!
@curlymal Karen would not have enjoyed the success that she had without the talents of her brother Richard....The Carpenter's songs were all arranged and produced by Richard around Karen's voice.
@curlymal Sorry, but you are flat out wrong. Richard was/is a certified musical genius/prodigy. There's no question that Karen outshone him in "The Carpenters" but he was the one who came up with the magical arrangements and incredibly complex harmonies that best utilized Karen's incredible voice. But to suggest he was and is nothing without her simply shows how little you know about this incredibly gifted man. True, he had no act after she died, but that doesn't diminish his talent.
@curlymal ...yes and also the other way around. They were the best team together. Karen and Richard Carpenter. His musical arrangements with her drums and one in a million voice.
It must be something to live a whole life without your one and only sister.........
I would like to say THANK YOU to Carpenters.........from the bottom of my heart.
Sometimes I think that Richard is overclouded by Karen. Please, don't take me the wrong way, I LOVE Karen, but I love to hear Richard's great talent too.
Did I say 1971, seems like just yesterday, really.
Time goes by so fast, for young and older, enjoy life while it lasts,....... and bless us all with goodness for all no matter what! And thank you for this post,
this is really one profound song with a profound and strong, tender yet very true lyrics. she's the only singer till now who have the perfect voice for any piece of a song...thanks for posting. god bless..
Such a simple piece, yet so much is communicated here. Listen to the lyrics that Karen offers with such heartbreaking tenderness. How many times have I forgotten to say that "i love you" to someone, only to have them die before I saw them again? This song reminds me to say what's in my heart, always. We can never know when the last time we see someone could be 'the last time'. This song began as a simple poem written by a child, but it became something to teach adults, for all time. Bravo.
LoveHowardBanister, "Thank You:", -"Sometimes" is one of my favorites from Karen. At 1:55, it reflects the way I am feeling now, trying my best to rise above some very difficult times. This is truly a gift from you & so was Karen.-Penny

I love hearing the scratches and pops. Takes me back to when I used to listen to this song on my little phonograph player as a boy.

Ah, memories of my all-time favorite vocalist.
The only thing wrong with "Sometimes" (no offense Falice Mancini) is that it's too short!

...how can a track with only piano and vocal be so complete? Oh, yeah. Carpenters.

Compare this to the Beatles' IN MY LIFE lyrically and you'll find that the message and sentiment is rather similar.
