I remember this trailer coming on tv when I was a kid and the part where she's drug through the hole freaked me out! Didn't know this movie was it until that scene came up and I instantly remembered!
Slasher films almost always depict people killed during sex because depictions of violence in movies, no matter how explicit, are accepted while sex is still seen as taboo and subject to censorship. The morality of these films shows casual sex as something to be punished. Notice how the one person who survives in these movies, usually female, is the one who doesn't get laid. It's based on American hypocrisy about sex.
LOL Why are they always killing people during sex? ROTFLMAO! This movie scared the crap out of my mother when she saw it in 1980. And I showed her this trailer and she said, "thanks, thanks a lot for reminding me." LOL
I would have been about two so I don't know how, but somehow I remember this trailer and the figure covered in the sheet at the end terrified me when I'd see it on TV!
I have this film on VHS, and it boasts a very atmospheric and frightening quality, as well as great actors like Yvonne DeCarlo, Barbara Steele and Cameron Mitchell. Also the university sequences were clearly on the same campus used for Sunnydale High in the series "Buffy The Vampire Slayer".
canadianskye1964@diotd2008: robots? i think not. at least prochoicers are programmed automaton or humanoids where if you press them in the tummy they are repeat the same crap overover....over you are the brainwashed ones.
I'll always remember looking in our local paper and seeing the ad for Silent Scream,The Fog,Phantasm, and Prophecy all running 'round the same time. What a grnd time for horror!!!
This and Curtains will make my slaher collection complete Ive never seen Silent Scream Always Wanted to also cant wait for the new House on Sorority row DVD
i remember my twin brother and i seeing this trailer on our 8th birthday in march 1980 and it scared us shitless! every time i hear george benson's "gimme the night" and the spinner's "workin my way back to you babe" i think of this movie lol!
a # in audience, myself included, laffed at # bad parts in this movie; the ad a lot better than movie. one of the last movies from a cheap independant company to get a national release.
I remember seeing this commercial back in the day and it scared the doody out of me. Saw the film and I remember not thinking it was too good, but I'd love to see it again.
