I had a feeling that Chris Stevens read this poem once during an episode of Northern Exposure, but I can't find any reference to it, or any videos on youtube.

i love it too but isn't the plural of moose 'mose' - i could be wrong as i never had more than one moose at a time.

When the mooses came walking..that fateful day, They said 'Isn't that Arlo Guthrie over there in the hay?"
'Whats that he's writing?" One wanted to know. We should find out before we go!
So they listened and heard and it gave them a thrill. They thanked him and smiled and walked back over the hill.

Ha! I love it!! Buried amongst the cobwebs, I have a memory of Alice's illustration, and Arlo having fun with it. The animation is a hoot!
