  • Hey Christopher, I'm Travis and I am brand new to painting miniatures. I bought some cheap orc miniatures and I would always have difficulty with highlighting the skin, I didn't quite understand it. Until I saw ur "How to paint orc flesh" video, this vid was visually clear, u clearly explained what u were doing and why, and u showed what colors u used. Even though it was a short vid it really helped me understand, but I would like to see some more orc vids like how u painted that orc shaman. :)

  • I would love to see you do a video (maybe you have?) that is a generic tool for new painters like Hot Lead did, but with a better presentation and giving more info like Paint theory different ideas on color mixing, the reasons for choosing certain color schemes, etc. Anyway, if you offered a multi-DVD series on teaching new painters, I would then call every tabletop game and hobby store in America and ask them if they'd like to purchase your DVD's for sale in their stores. That would help tons

  • what does AG in your username stand for?

  • i like how chris goes all in depth on the minitures

  • G'day Chris I bought your Eldar warlock vid its awsome. I havnt atempted the figure yet as I have alot of other models on my plate. Also I use GW paints if you could let me no what the substitutes for valahoe paints would be handy.

Ive been painting for about 13 years on an off and your vid has taught me heaps.

I would like to see a vid on Eldar harlequins.

  • Watch the smacking of you hands on your thighs and clapping your hands. You also say the same thing over and over just make your point. This was the 1st one yof your videos i have seen.

  • Only improvement I can think of is if you're doing a painting video then try and keep the miniature always in frame and perhaps show your pallet onscreen too so we can see exactly how you're doing it.

  • Bretonnians are so ignored....give them attention!

  • I would like to see you guys post videos on Youtube (of course) with more detail instructions and a better step by step instruction on how to paint paticular models.

  • you could do some online webcam one on one painting

  • lol, wow...no one has posted a video response

  • I was just having a think, and I remember you mentioned on one of stumpythumpers vids that you had some dwarfs with axes on chains. These are called dragon slayers, and I was curious if you still had them. If so, could you do a video on them, and possibly set a price?

    Thanks.

    p.s.

Check out my water fx vids, and tell me what you think.

  • i am a beginner and my painting skills suck really bad can you do a vid on termagrants i use them as paint trials but at the moment im wasting money please help

  • Please do a vid on how to paint cadian 12th!

  • can u please review the hot lead painting dvd? im thinking of getting it.

  • i like ur shirt lol

  • I just bought my first set of space marines and your blood angels videos were the perfect thing to get me started with painting. The only thing that i would like you to change about your videos is to do more asap. keep up the good work, your doing a priceless service to any painter.

  • hi i love the book reviews i bought the foundry book and found it much more clearer than how to gw paint citadel mintures book. could you please make videos about converting models and making scenic bases

  • Can you make a video on how to paint Kroot Carnivores? I know you don't like paint tau but Kroots don't look like robots and they look like Tyranids(short of) . It would be wonderful if you can show me how to paint Kroots.

  • Your videos about how to paint blood Angels where off huge usage and help to determine on how to paint my space wolves models I have laying around. The chest eagle thing is GOLD! Really need to thank you for that. Made the models look so much better than before. The gradient body color stuff was of huge help as well, I just switched it out for gray colors as I have space wolves and thus far the 1 model I painted after watching you videos looks way much better than the few models painted before.

  • That's great to hear. I'm glad that someone got the idea that even though I specfically demonstrated Blood Angels that the techniques can be used on all miniature types. Glad to be of help and thanks for watching!

  • Hey I have been watching your videos for about one month now and I really loved the how to paint orc skin video because I play orks and i really helped me because I used to drybrush skin. I can't wait to see more orc vids. I also like how teach the painting i really caught on the the videos and learned from what you did. i don't like the picture quality on some videos though maybe you could fix it besides that your vids are amazing.

  • Do you make Dark Angels "how to paint" video anytime soon, or at all? Im about to order my first Dark Angel troops and was thinking that, which Vallejo model color's works best for their green armor.

    Do you have any suggestions?

Oh yeah, these videos teach alot. Cant really request any improvements. I like them just the way they are now.

  • The Dark Angels video is coming. It is actually going to be Let's Paint Episode 4 and will be combination episode of Dark Angels / Imperial Fists. It will be another month or so before it is released. Things have been quite busy around here lately...combine that with my near blindness...and it creates delays :( Soon though...soon.

  • I have watched you vids for a while and I'm a pretty decent painter. Is I have a picture of a figure, I can paint it pretty darn accurately. The problem I have is when i have a base coated mini, and I have to come up with a color scheme on my own. It is very difficult to come up with original color schemes for figures and have them come out looking good.

  • By the end of February, we'll have a video on what to do to create your own color schemes. That is the number one concern I have received over the years..."I just don't know what colors look good." There are ways to fix the problem and I'll show you how to do it soon.

  • i actually started mixing paints and adding water to paint after looking at ur videos, and it makes the lair of paint much more beautiful, another thing i liked with ur tutorials is that u zoom in to the figure that ur painting so the watchers can easily see what you are doing, but when u made the blood angels tutorial, you made a very simple base of cork powder, u should show ppl how to make a base of "cork pieces" , my characters are running out on this comment so Good Luck with all!

  • Hey there. Thanks for watching. I appreciate the comments and wanted to address the cork bases. Generally speaking, I do not do elaborate bases for any of my models unless a client requests it. Occasionally I will do a scenic base though and on occasion have used cork "chunks" to create a rocky texture. I'll be doing a tutorial on bases before the end of February. Keep an eye out for it.

  • the video that helped me allot was how to paint orcs: flesh my orks look allot cooler now. I have a problem to get the paint smoothly over a white undercoat though so maybe you could explain that a bit more in your upcomming video? Another thing that i realy like is your camera work. Your camera is always focussed and is always very close to the mini so i can see each step in the progress.

just as TANEM315 said, most ppl including me use GW paints so maybe you can use them more in your vids?

  • i really enjoyed how you went over the exact color progressions you used for highlighting certain areas of a model. And although you don't particularly like gamesworkshop paints there are many of your viewers (including me) that do use them. I use them partly because I bought so many of them before realizing or considering other paint sets. If it is possible, please continue to give indepth information on color progressions, including gw paints, foundation paints, and washes. thanks!
