This song always stood out to me on Heroes. The instrument arrangement was wonderful, and that 'get me to the doctor!'. I can't believe this wasn't on Stage, this live version is so bad ass.
@Tollekarte I know... Every time I watch Bowie live videos from 1978 I feel like punching the audience. If I'd get a change to witness one of his late 1970's shows I'd be acting like a madman...
I think my heart stopped during that video. IMO this version blows the studio version out of the water, and Blackout is one of my favorite tracks off of "Heroes". I've always wanted to see Bowie perform the spoken parts live, and I got what I expected here and then some. Btw, "Heroes" is my favorite of the Berlin trilogy. :)
as good as "low" and "heroes" are i have to say (my all time fave bowie, and a top3 all ltime album is) Lodger - it grew on me (and others bit by bit...)
yes!

This song has so much: soul, rock, dissonance, desperation and a strange kind of romanticism. A thing of beauty

At first I thought it was going to be awful, but once he starts singing he completely nails it. Amazing voice. Better than the studio version,
