@FabioCrow07770 Mossbergs come with lock-tite on the threads at the receiver end. A heat gun and strap wrench are usually needed to remove the mag tube. Regarding the video, if people are concerned with the safety aspect of loading the gun with live shells, guess they could always use dummy shells right?

@toorkralc You shake it side to side so the rod can hopefully find the hole in the mag tube to come out. Also, it has two rubber O-rings that more often than not hang it up on the mag spring. Side to side shakes it loose, up and down doesn't.  If the plug is in an old gun, the rings often turn to sticky slime with age and those require the mag tube be removed and cleaned out to prevent jamming in the mag tube.

you should have showed the stick.... I will bet the rubber ring at the end of the stick... is too close to the end. The rings should be an inch or two back from the end. Be careful when you insert it into the magazine tube... spin it in with the threads if need be, so as not to push the rubber ring all the way to the end, and then you will find it falls out when tipping it forward, with out inserting shells.

One small disclaimer...my 500 is brand new (only 5 rounds fired through it) and after watching your video 10 minutes ago, the plug did shake out. I'm thinking that with more use and more dirt, oil, etc, it might not have come out so easily. Thanks again. Keep shooting.

You are right, we have had a hard time getting the plug out. Thanks for posting this video. We have 3 of these ( 1 in 12, 1 in 20 and 1 in 410 ). We inherited these from my Dad, and the plug wasn't in the 12 or 20 and we can't get it out of the 410.

My Benelli 121-M1 X-Swat shotgun holds 5 rounds in the tube, 1 round in the chamber, and 1 ghost round for a total of 7.

It isn't plugged, I guess cops don't plug their guns.

I don't want to beat a dead horse here, But you don't just shake it. Take the barrel off hold the gun by the butt end and lightly swing the gun in a circular motion. The dowel will be sticking out and you just pull it right out, Now another problem may be is if the rubber ring is not facing out. When you swing the gun and it pops out you should see the small black ring, If the ring is facing backwards that may also be a problem.

Nothing wrong with either way though, Both get the job done.
