Is it me or is this scene really sad even before the OD?

Vincent and Mia are like two sides of the same coin, but both seem powerless to actually change anything. Vincent ends up dead because he didn't quit like Jules, Mia ends up in a shallow marriage because she didn't follow her heart.

That scene where Vincent blows her the kiss behind her back is strangely powerful. It's sort of like he's kissing his dreams goodbye.

i've always hated this scene, not because I hate the movie, cause it's a fucking amazing movie. But watching that big bloody snot bubble come out of Mia's nostril as the heroin starts to shut down her body, and seeing the semen-like foamy fluid come pouring out her mouth, turns my fucking stomach inside out. it's a really well done scene, close to perfect even, but jeez I cringe every time I see it.
