  • beautiful clip!

  • Theres an awful lot of traffic considering that petrol was rationed.

  • Fantastic clip ! I was born 17 years after the war but I take a great interest in WW2 and what it was like. I read about it a lot, looking at this clip is just like being there. I reckon there must be so much footage that has not been discovered yet .

Thanks very much for showing some history.

  • Home of the tweed! :)

  • That film 'The way to the stars' was made in 1945.

  • Anyone spot the advert for Bile Beans at 0.26? I remember a Bile Beans ad painted on the gable end of a house near to where I used to live, I used to see it as I went past on the train.

I don't know what they were, though

  • @Topcamerman. I love this video! At 0:26 I see an advertisement for "Bile Beans". What could they possibly have been?! I will be checking out your other YouTube offerings as well. I love vintage films, especially from the war years. As an American born in 1954, this is a glimpse into another time and world I never knew. Thanks for sharing.T
