All that exists is contingent to something else. The origin of the matter in the universe needs to be explained by the matter creating abilities of a non-contingent power. This non contingent power needs to exist by it's own necessity. Energy is proven to be non-contingent. Therefore a form of energy must had created the universe. Energy has the same attributes we give God, therefore is plausible that God had created the universe.
i'll do my best to explain to you the dilemma i have about you and others like you that call themselves atheists. you call yourself a freethinker based on what? if you are also an atheist then you're not that free, since you also believe in something that you cannot prove: that GOD does not exist.

As someone from Iceland that has lived in Japan I can vouch for that.. the crime rate in both those places are almost none (except for the last few years where a couple of gangs have immigrated to Iceland).
There are 90% registered believers in Iceland but the statistics show that there are around 30-40% atheists and I've never met anyone in Iceland that takes religion as seriously as some of the people I have seen from the US.

Its important to base a goverment on the american original pledge of allegiance which provides freedom from religion. A government shouldnt be based on any religion it should be based on leading the country. @JohanAtheist I think you must be referring to the constitution. The pledge has no power at all. It was written in 1892 by a christian socialist (I'm serious look it up). 'Under god' was added in 1954 I think.

Everything, think of it this way. People like to be benefited, and people find the easiest way to benefit without getting into major danger is to corporate, exchange goods and services, and benefited over time. People realize it would be in there best interest to try and get along, because if not you would always be at each others throats and society would never prosper. Over time all animals learn to corporate with their own kind because it benefits themselves. Moral can come from naturalistic explanation. Economy was a good example, if everyone stole everyone would be in a state of chaos, no one wants it to happen to them, and would lose their money all the time.
Doesn't take a genius to figure out "Hey, if I don't steal off you, promise not to steal off me?" The other person has nothing to gain, if he did try to steal, then person a will try to steal back which is a dangerous outcome and people like to be safe. It's to benefit yourself to be civil. I myself am one person who will bend over backwards for anyone, it's fun for me to help. But do I expect payback? Well no not really, but most people always try to pay me back. It benefits me.

The Atheist Experience sucks, and I don't mean as in "your group sucks;" I mean as in: it doesn't fill you with joy to be Atheist, it just shows you the way things really are, and at the same time prevents you from breaking your own morals in the name of something "more important." The thing is, people still do that last part I mentioned, even if they're atheists, but the other reasons to do it are greed and actual social change.

All that exists is contingent to something else. The origin of the matter in the universe needs to be explained by the matter creating abilities of a non-contingent power. This non contingent power needs to exist by it's own necessity. Energy is proven to be non-contingent. Therefore a form of energy must had created the universe. Energy has the same attributes we give God, therefore is plausible that God had created the universe.

I am now 23 and still trying to completely let go of the damage done to me emotionally, and mentally. Being told your a "sinner", "worthless" "undeserving of gods love" "naked, wretched, miserable and knoweth it not" for a little over 2 decades does something to a Childs mind. I'm glad that I had the courage to leave.

atheist's just hate the idea of God because they hate organized religion but the bible is totally against organized religion. Jesus himself rebuked the temples for being corrupt. People have always abused things for evil purposes but really God cant control those that do evil and claim his following he gave us all free will to know our hearts and see if we would love him. god created adam. out of him, he created eve. adam in god's image, eve in adams. that's why women attract men. They chose to make a mistake, to eat the apple of knowledge. and so, god banned them from the garden of eden. he told them life would be hard, and that they would have to have faith in him to go to heaven (garden of eden). somewhere along the line, humanity rejected god, and then came the diversity of religion.

By using common sense? Killing someone isn't nice because it's not fair for you to end someone's only life. For an atheist it is worse to kill someone as it ends the victim's only life. If you are religious they just go to heaven so dying isn't really all that big of a deal.
Stealing stuff is an obvious one too - they worked for it and it's only fair for them to keep it. You should work for your stuff.

As someone from Iceland that has lived in Japan I can vouch for that.. the crime rate in both those places are almost none (except for the last few years where a couple of gangs have immigrated to Iceland).
There are 90% registered believers in Iceland but the statistics show that there are around 30-40% atheists and I've never met anyone in Iceland that takes religion as seriously as some of the people I have seen from the US.

@JohanAtheist I think you must be referring to the constitution. The pledge has no power at all. It was written in 1892 by a christian socialist (I'm serious look it up). 'Under god' was added in 1954 I think.

Everything, think of it this way. People like to be benefited, and people find the easiest way to benefit without getting into major danger is to corporate, exchange goods and services, and benefited over time. Sure unfourtunetly there are some bad people who exploit but that will happen, not everyone is good meaning. People realize it would be in there best interest to try and get along, because if not you would always be at each others throats and society would never prosper. Over time all animals learn to corporate with their own kind because it benefits themselves. Moral can come from naturalistic explanation. Economy was a good example, if everyone stole everyone would be in a state of chaos, no one wants it to happen to them, and would lose their money all the time.

The other person has nothing to gain, if he did try to steal, then person a will try to steal back which is a dangerous outcome and people like to be safe. It's to benefit yourself to be civil. The Atheist Experience sucks, and I don't mean as in "your group sucks;" I mean as in: it doesn't fill you with joy to be Atheist, it just shows you the way things really are, and at the same time prevents you from breaking your own morals in the name of something "more important." The thing is, people still do that last part I mentioned, even if they're atheists, but the other reasons to do it are greed and actual social change.
