This is the first time I heard this song. I love it ! I believe this guys had a great unique style hard to find in todays bands. A totally different level.
THIS IS SO GOOD!!! i listen it over and over... 20000 vieuws, give a certain 20 to me... thereby i know it on guitar chords, and it's very wonderful!!!
Yeah L42 certainly jumped the shark with Staring at the Sun... after they left polydor it got worse and worse... more Mark influence, less band influence. Still.. my favorite band ever. It's so strange how few knew about them here in the U.S. The one chance I had to see them ('89)got canceled because of weak ticket sales.
From the US here. I love this band so much. I wasn't super crazy about this entire album but I loved this Billy's Gone, and Talking in Your Sleep which is one of my all time L42 favs. Give me Guaranteed anyday!
Damn what a brilliant song...I love the vocal break at 2:36. One of my favorite tracks on the Forever Now album! Thanks for posting it...and the inspiration to keep listening to Level 42. I hope these guys are around forever!
Well Mark hits the big 50 this year, so I guess Level 42 will be around for a good while yet - heck Status Quo have been going HOW long? (seems like forever - another great British band as well!)
Yes your right this is a good track. Did nothing in the charts either. I think this was the last song they did before they split in 1994. The album version was lot longer. v good posting
OMG, I love this song, soooo much. Just got this CD, and ya know, it's not so bad. I AM SO HAPPY TO HAVE FOUND A VIDEO FOR IT!! Thanks so much for sharing! BEAUTIFUL!
level 42 son unos genios dela musica gracias por tener videos en la red para disfrutarlos me traen gratos recuerdos de mi historica vida grandes genios de la musica
Watch when the first lyric "strange after all these years, after all my tears" comes up. Mark actually sings 'fears' instead of tears in the video. Great song L42.
...excellent smithers... awesome song, cliched ideas yet magically delivered. Damn it though the chromakey-(blue/green screen) video is just to open to spoofing nowdays as a symbol of cheesy vids, shame. (nice heli shots though) Vids these days are just are just as cheesy in their own right. Another shot of sports cars in a dessert anyone?
...yep small thing; anyone fancy a sports car in a chocolate dessert?..haha yeh meant desert. (check spelling) Yes very Nirvana-esqe and from the same year I think.
WOW! I love this song and this ablum is one of the best from them. First time ever seeing the video. The buildings of downtown Houston, Texas! I don't know why they chose that scenery, but I can say my city has been a L42 video! Thanks for the post!
Off one of my Fav albums of Level42. Yeah, it was way different than their heyday stuff because half the band was gone, but I just love it. Thanks for posting it.
I love it, the vocals are excellent.

At 0:50 the song's line is 'tears' but Mark sings 'fears' in the video. Did anybody else catch that?
Mowac 2 years ago
First he says "years" at 0:50 and then he says "tears" at 0:52 in the video... at least that's what I heard.

Unreal how good these guys are...
Can't believe they haven't made it bigger in the Canada and the US !!!
This balade is monument to the huge talent they have to switch from style to style with such great ease and success.
This King /Lindup voice contrasting conbination is one of their ultimate trademarks and strengths...
Hope they find their way to Montreal (Canada)one of these days for a concert...

Well there's something to put on your CV - 'As a baby I appeared in a Level 42 video!'
Out of interest Nick, how did you manage to be in the video? Did your parents know Mike/Mark or somebody in the production team?

Honestly I always found this song quite average compared to their older beautiful ballads. Furthermore I find it artificial with that stand drummer
beckenbauers 4 years ago
Yeah, I thought Gary Husband was the drummer in Level 42 at this point :s
retroglide2000 4 years ago
no Gary left L42 in 1992 .. Phil helped out with writing and studio work on this album but not on the vids or on tour .. !
