I've used the Rode video mic a lot.. I really find it an awful, over hyped shot gun mic. I still wonder how and why it gets the positive reviews that it does.. It's like it almost amplifies indoor echo.. it's unbelievable.

I call it the 'echo mic'. Make any room you are in echo worse which is exactly what a shot gun mic is NOT supposed to do.

Good testing even if it's not scientific, the mic seems to let less noise through than other external mics on the 600D, I'm considering to buy this one too.

@xxbluejay21 Very few are willing to post up real world results.... I'm telling you this mic is awful. I own it and it totally sucks.. it's like it enhances wind and background noise. Supposedly when you move to a real shot gun, it's a MASSIVE improvement. The Rode is like an 'echo' mic.
