I lived amongst Jews for a while and they did not push religion at me at all, they accepted me and were very nice people.
Love is what matters at the end why bother with scriptures when you have that , it is the start and finish of anything.

For me a man 2500 years ago said it all Buddha, pure peace and love. Mohammed may have said many beautiful things but that does not discard the other not so beautiful actions and words.
These are used as justification by many today for violent acts and to kill apostates sadly.
It's true a life is long and of many colours and shades but the main troubles we have are monotheitic religions.

Polygamy used to be practiced without limit,to that it was reduced to a maximum of 4. So in every aspect the Prophet had lifted the woman's status so high that he deserves the respect for it. The irony and the double standard is that men such as Abraham Lincoln have speeches with very racist words and yet he is viewed as the abolisher of slavery.

The Jews were practising the Law in a very hypocritical manner and Jesus describes them so.They abide by the little laws that are seen in appearance but they break the major laws that cannot be seen.I dont know if you're a fan of Jesus or are against him, but that man is spoken of with the highest respect in the Quran. Now regarding the women's rights in Islam,you could hold your stance of opposition to it,but you ought to respect the man who was sent with those laws. And this is why:
At the time of the Prophet, not one of the laws of the sharia was a regression in the woman's status.Baby girls used to be buried alive,women not only didnt have a right to own they were assets themselves,they were not allowed education to that the Prophet says "whoever has daughters and educates them shall enter Paradise"
