  • I loved this video back in the day! I'm originally from Montreal. I played the hell out of this song!

Haters always have something to say....

  • Man, we used to smoke weed and watch "RAP CITY" I will never remember when I first saw this shit.. I only remember, because I sort of bobbed my head..It's a classic because of the time, not the song! I remember these fools performed at the New Years Eve CityTV bash..Anyone remember? Man, that was more then 15 years ago..Where does the time go people?

  • @proudfreemason

Did you smoke weed and say, "Damn Hip Hop in 2010 will have a lot of Masonic Symbolism in their videos" (black and white checkered floor, the Masonic G Compass Logo, and the various hand signs which in itself is a language.

As a "Proud Free Mason" you have to keep it real when you see this type of symbolism being used in Hollywood/Music Videos/Video games. What is your opinion on this?

  • Hey did you that is my step uncle really im not cidding.

  • Damn! Getting flashbacks of Master T, X tendamix and oldschool Muchmusic. Good track.

The drug free competition to get a deal from Meastro where yall did back flips (from what I heard, i was back stage) was TBTBT set up to win? was it just a promotion to give u credibility? I don't give a shit now i'm to old to fuck with that shit now but let me know.

  • I remember this song, everytime we'd have a party in school on the last day before holidays. One of the kids in my class would be the DJ and play all types of dance songs and this would be the one they'd play. yep in 1993 i was in grade 5 i love the 90's! i wish i could relive in that decade

  • Fucking haters! Track brings back memories

  • I remember their performance on the show Blue Peter when they came to London (UK) do some gigs one them they performed where my sister saw them she was about 14 or 15 years of age. Just to say she was not impressed, they gave away their cd single for free but she did not play it once since that time.

  • Not surprising, no one was impressed by them. They were absolute garbage, put together by some money hungry producer trying to cash in the the Kriss Kross & "The Boys" phase. Features the blackest white guy, you'll ever see, I think he was called Stylez.

Just look at that fool bouncin at 0:08-0:09,

  • What you say about "put together by some money hungry producer trying to cash in" is true, which is why they probably didn't do what they could have. Saying that they were garbage is bullshit, these kids had talent. I used to hang with the Black guy when we were kids we used to smoke blunts in Grange Park, he came straight from Falstaff and his big brother used to cut our hair nice back in the day for $10 for us kids in the hood. They were all kewl if he could have come with some rough ryhmes...

  • Did you also hang with graphidi logik? I think they were from the Falstaff area, but i might be mistaken.

  • Nah, I was not from Falstaff. I can't remember his name now but he had a big family and they got out of the Falstaff and moved in a newer building near Grange Park. I lived near by St. Patrick Sq. in those days, this is Queen/McCaul area. He was a real sharp kid who could sing, rap and dance and he came from the hood. I hope he is doing well in these times.

  • yeah we still here!

and we doin fine. still doin muzik and mad revolutionary

  • What's up bro. I used to live in Regent Park back in the day. I was probably better known for being a twin. My Brother Shane and I went to Park school. We've been out of Toronto for over 10 years now living in the Chi. Any plans to drop a new album? Glad to hear you're doing well.

    Shaune

  • hahahhahha

  • omg....i love it

  • finally iv been waiting 4 this yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Serious old school!

  • They tried to be like ABC or 'the BOYS', yet this is such a lower scale version. Absolute garbage! The token white guy really thought he was black, spoke with a Jamaican accent, etc..

  • HE IS BLACK U IDIOT.

  • Nope, you lose, he's the token white guy. Take a closer look.

  • Robis, having a Jamaican accent doesn't have anything to do white being Black, white-mon, Chiny or Indian tbh. I never really new the members of the group with of one guy. Does it matter if he was white? Just saying.

  • with the exception of the one guy I knew*

i.e. I never met the Franky guy, I think Jeremy was the light skin Black guy I don't remember the name of the dude we hung out with occasionally (the darker skin Black guy).

  • No, doesn't matter at all that he was white, yet it just so happens he was the TOKEN white guy and happened to have somewhere along the way developed a Jamaican accent. Whether it was a put on or not, I don't know.

  • I've known quite a few white ppl that ARE Jamaicans...Born and raised.

  • Frankie Yale Does the rap Drop Check his new shit, he got a joint w Black Child,

  • these dudes won a juno award 2

  • Regaurding your post:Frankie Yale Does the rap Drop Check his new shit, he got a joint w Black Child, whats the link ? P.M me

  • thanks for posting this music video this is the shit old school

  • LOL -

  • OH HELL NO!!!! let me skool u on this group n POINT BLANK. First of all my older brother was one of the members in this group. Yeah maybe the competition was fixed, but that's what the ppl wanted back then. I was there! It was a gosh damn talent show for sakes! Second n for most, the two guys that put together POINT BLANK that r in the group are my UNCLES!!!!!! If u know ur candian hip hop u would know that POINT BLANK is one of the illest under ground groups in CANADA, PERIOD.

  • Nice, thanks for sharing. Any way you can get Get Down to It as well? :)

  • A rap competition @ tha CNE back in like 92-93. The first prize was a recording deal wit maestro fresh wes. These guys were there along wit my group 3 BAD CULTURES. At the end the judges said we won, but we found out it was fixed, and these punks won. That's why it took 10 years for Canadian hip-hop to represent. Instead of lyric they wanted back flips?! One of our members is in a group POINT BLANK. They on here.

  • thank you so much for that info.

  • @SympleOne All I will say is...BULLSHIT. I was on a basketball team with the rapper from TBTBT & he was very humble about his "flavor of the month" fame from this song. Where are your videos? Show me why you should have won that competition in 92-93??? No matter what I have respect for TBTBT. The rapper dude was down to Earth & cool as fuck.

  • @secretcloud Did you like this song? Did you like Marky Mark and tha funky bunch? Did you like new kids on the block? You obviously don't know shit about hip hop or the state of Canadian hip hop for that fact especially in 93. who had the ability to not make a video or bubble gum rap but real hip hop respected by real MC. Maestro's team should have looked at more than just stage performance But what the industry needed. I was a real B-boy. Freestyle, breakin, graffiti, hood as shit.

  • @SympleOne Actually, back in those days I was really into Digable Planets, Souls of Mischief, Maestro Fresh Wes, Gangstarr, Das EFX...was even ahead of the curve listening to shit like Freestyle Fellowhip when nobody had even heard of them. etc. etc. The list goes on & on. I knew real hip hop & still do.

It isn't hard to make your own video or record your own tracks. If you had any ambition at all you would not have simply relied on ONLY this competition to "make it".

  • @SympleOne Also, as a matter of fact I did like this track and still do. Like I said though, these guys were real cool. I knew one of them on a personal level and he was extremely humble about TBTBT. It wasn't like he was rolling around acting better than anybody. He didn't even like bringing it up & definitely wouldn't brag about it. People get breaks in the game for a reason...you have to also have a personality to go with your talent and these guys all had that. Word.

  • @SympleOne Also let me make this clear...I am not by any means saying that you or your crew didn't have talent. I just really think you shouldn't hate on TBTBT for their limited success. The guys were real cool & down to Earth even at the peak of their careers. Perhaps if you could've seen past your own defeat in this competition you might've been able to give them a chance and see how legit they were as people. I think you should have kept going after this. It's never too late man. Go for it!

  • @SympleOne I know this was posted 2 years ago however, TBTBT was or is a Regent Park creation! as is Point Blank. At the time; 1992-93 it was all about the dance with new jack swing and as far as Canadian HipHop was concerned we had Dream Warriors, Maestro and Michee Me, who was at the front of a women lead hip hop transformation... Shooot, Latifah and Monie Love opened up for Michee me. Canadian Hip Hop was represented it's just we didn't take notice. Nuff Respect due to TBTBT.

  • totally forgot about this song! did'nt know these guys were canadian.

  • man i remembr this one

shtt it took me a long azz time to find out who it was from

i couldnt find it for the longest time

i finally found it last week

i was soo happy to finally see it again

    u couldnt imagine

  • I don't remember seeing this as a child on any of the video shows, but the chorus sounds SO familiar.
