I have studied Sanskrit intensely for about 5 years. I now consider myself an advanced Student. I am presently wrapping my brain around Panini and his generative Grammar the Ashtadhyayi. Panini was concerned with form, pattern, and economy: hence, his terse, mathematical 4,000 Sutra rules. Grammatical explanations can be inferred from his work.
