I went to that school a few years ago and never experience that because I always walked to school. People should just take the bus, the subway, or walk to school and work.
What a lousy infrastructure. But why bash eachother?Cyclists and car-drivers should unite and convince the authorities that seperate bicycle paths can reduce congestion. When safe bicycle paths are there, the cyclists will come. It is basic math: because cyclists take up far less space on the road and parking, there will be more room for the car-drivers that are not ready yet for the joys of cycling.
BTW: Just follow the videoresponse to see what I mean.
NY License plate BXU 3753 Any one with NYPD here is your chance to prevent global warming. It's assholes like this one driving the geo tracker that make doing the right thing almost impossible. The fuel economy of that piece of shit tracker is 21 22 not worth the trip it is shit cars like that one that burn way too much fuel causing prices to go up. If that were a geo metro he could get 37 44 big difference.
Car lane bike lane any questions. You see faster traffic I will step aside and allow them passage you never know if they really have an emergency. If you have to stop at a light leave room for cars to access parking lots hear an ambulance or fire truck get to the shoulder of the road. If I am on a 2 lane and it is safe to do so I allow room for opposing traffic to cross if they are making a left hand turn,if we all did this the roads would be far less congested and less stressful. Be courteous.
I am so embarrassed as an American to see this. You know bicycling is associated with hippies, sweating and radicalism. Being self-empowered is not very American. You need to just buy a car and support gasoline pimps, insurance companies and oil-soaked streets. One day, I would just love to see a bicycle advertised on television. This is so embarrassing.
Play the ball, not the man. If just 10% of commuters, like me who want to ride to work, rode their bike to work there would be a MASSIVE reduction in traffic congestion. You would get to work much sooner, use less gas, get a parking space and get home sooner all because I rode my bike and showered at work. To do this we need unobstructed cycleways. People who obstruct the cycleways are causing more than just bicycle delays. They're holding you up too.
Queensplazasouth, you picked an excellent screen name; you and your vocabulary belong on Queens Plaza South. I lived in LIC for years and I know what a s---hole QPS is. the last thing I need is your advice on how to raise kids.
LOL, you know what they say, you are a product of your environment. Unfortunately I've been gone from the area for about 4 years, the folks moved to Florida and I live in Brooklyn now.
do what I do (as a motorcyclist) my gloves have carbon knuckle protectors, so when car drivers piss me off I punch there mirrors off as we ride past, not so easy if you're not wearing gloves, but you could do something similar.
Why don't they build the bike path in a different level? just drawing a line over the same street, and in the middle, instead of in a side, makes it an incentive for drivers to violate the areas... Is this NYC?
oops, i accidentally hit the spam button on this comment when I meant to hit the reply button (please dont hate me). I was going to say I don't agree with driving at all if you live in a place as cramped as NYC. The subways are excellent... there is no excuse unless you have a handicapped kid.

I don't think that was confrontational AT ALL. Kudos to Ifreedman500 for teaching his kids about their rights. He TRULY is a pillar of his community.

If that kid came to me giving me the self righteous bicycle speech, he will be given a quick vocabulary lesson.

Would your self righteous vocabulary lesson include such community pillar words such as "assholes"? You are a Troll.

Your a hippie that wants everyone to arrive to work sweatin and stinkin like a hippie, instead of using subways, busses, and cars.

Hippies don't have jobs. They don't have to worry about being all stinking for work.
