  • I'm wondering how you blow into the PVC garden hose instrument. Do you just use air or did you have to vibrate your lips as well? And how much air. I am wondering because I am designing a project that uses the wind outside to make music.

  • I simply LOVED the Fujara!!

  • what's the psi for a C?

  • Just righteous. Fanned.

  • impressive

  • I have been trying this and have not had success. I have taken my bottles up to 120 PSI testing along the way with no results. What PSI are your bottles? Also I believe that the standard american 2 liter bottle is shaped differently, would that have an affect?

  • @profjaykay it only works with the new shape of cokeacola bottles that have the waist like a glass bottle.

  • ive got all the stuff for the coke bottles but im not getting the same resonating sound.

    should these make a difference:

    shape of the bottle?

what i use to seal it? (my silicone wouldn't work)

do you know how many psi you have in there?

  • sorry but i didnt understand what did you put on the tire valve to make the sound, in dont have a good english & i didnt got it, could tou tell me, CONGRATULATIONS for your instrument!

  • Coke bottles soundong like this!

  • HOW DO YOU MAKE THEM SOUND DIFFERENT?

  • Sounds like a flute crossed with a digeridoo.

  • that is the s8it ,love it

  • i've noticed that the 2 litre coke bottles here in america are a different shape- they dont have the hourglass figure and are more stout. do you think it'll work all the same?

  • the shape doesn't make any difference. You could likely do it with smaller bottles too, just make sure you don't put too much pressure in them:p and don't use those really flimsy/thin water bottles

  • most likely. we have the normal ones too you know. and it's about air pressure. so my af=dvice is to try it

  • woooooow

  • Marvelous! I've been looking for ways to make musical stuff you can beat the hell out of, and I've noticed how indestructible pop bottles are, and you put the two together. Thanks!

  • Thanks very much for sharing your know-how.

  • Can you tell me how yours made sound and mine didnt because mine wont make noise.;(

  • Whoa!

  • Hi, In regards to the pop bottles, about how many PSI's can I expect to pump in to that bottle? I'm at almost 40 psi's according to my bike pump and I'm feel worried that it may explode but it's not ringing like yours does.

    Some help would be appreciated!

    Thanks :)

  • ever get them working?

  • Excelent metalic sound!regards

  • the fujara is sick so are the coke bottles

  • what range of notes can the coke bottles reach?

  • I want to make a fujara now.

  • Fantastic!! I have one more I need to add to my collection. I'm a big D. Havlena fan he's

crafty. I'm a drum lover but your fujara sounds great. Can't wait to make one.

  • i am from slovakia. fujara is a great instrument. if somebody would like to ask me few qustions for fujara just write me. my skype name is jurajcief .

  • how far apart should the holes be when making a fujara?

  • I really really want to make a fujara. I have a willow flute and'd love the greater range of the fujara. Please please can you post idiot instructions for me?

  • dude that fujara is some major kickass .... I love it!

Sound just like the real one. I grow up in Slovakia and the way you play the damn pvc pipe brings me back to mine lala land ....amazing!!!

    Heheh

  • I just want to commend you on your inventivness. The simplicity of your constructions make them very accessable. I did the 2 ltr. bottles successfully and I'm going for the fujara now. This is really helpful for what I do with childrens music workshops. Keep up the good work.

    Thanks,

  • Q: About the Coke bottle instrument. How do you tune them? Does the tone depend on the size of the bottle or the amount of air pressure inside? Thanks, Rhonda

  • Hi Rhonda. It only works with 2 litre bottles. Raise the note by increasing pressure. Release pressure to lower the note. HTH Paul

  • wow

  • awesome fujara

  • what happens if you get a puncture

  • buy another bottle of coke! :)

Storage is a real pain so I just make up the caps and collect the bottles when I need them - Paul

  • GREAT!!!! I want one!!!!!!!

  • OH PLEASE... CAN YOU TEACH ME HOW TO MAKE THE SECOND ONE?? I REALLY LIKED IT VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!! thanks :D:D:D:D:D

  • Simply Amazing.

  • if anyone noticed the plastic bottle 'somehow' were resonating a metallic sound, those notes were a keyboard in the background.

    it was a joke....

  • Hey Lord Hazzard - Clearly you haven't tried it. No joke, no samples or synths, just the cool acoustic properties of a pressurised container.

  • flick a pvc softdrink bottle on the shelf of a store and it makes a sound like this.

  • wow fantastic!

  • hey man can you PLEASE explain a little more about how you made that PVC Fujara?

  • holy crap!!!! that is so awesome! can you send me the directions please because i have to make one of those, excellent job

  • this is hilarious...cool

  • ohhh!!!! that was brilliant!!!! reminds me of playing the clarinet! oh, you're ingenious! :D

  • great instrument? what kind of silicone do you buy? please reply asap! i need this for a project!

  • Great job on fujara!!. I have one myself, built in Slovakia by Smutny

I love the instrument, just gives me chills when I imagine the full breadth of what this instrument imagines (the tranquil pastures in Slovak highlands and echo of fujara).

    Cheers

  • Excellent! I lived in Slovakia for many years, and your Fujara sounds like the "real" thing, not to mention your Coke bottles!

  • DUDE, THOSE INSTRUMENTS ARE SWEET!

  • how do yo make the different pitches for the coke bottles?

  • Hey MrJarhead, if you pump more air into the bottle, the pitch goes up. let the air out and the pitch goes down. Enjoy - Paul

  • Thanks! I'm going to give it a try for a school project.

  • great ! absolutly great !

  • I love bass flutes... I am also inspired to build one out of black bamboo.. Can you give me the measurements in Inches and feet? What size pvc? Thank you for sharing...
