@StevieAndCoryYUMMY i was just jokeing about a dog, but you could have been lucky and been with him , i just wish it was me, and i do love his hands. there very nice , that,s what i look at on a man.nice hand,s.lol.
Stevie Ray Vaughan got his big break the year I was born so naturally I wasn't old enough to appreciate his music while he was still alive. By the time I could appreciate his wonderful music his legacy was securely intact. Good to see other folks sharing my love for his music.
SRV & DOUBLE TROUBLE kicks my ass on every track from LIVE AT THE EL MOCAMBO. This has been happening to me for 20 something years. It never gets old, just better and better and better. Woot to all the SRV lovers. We are a beautiful gang of miscreants!
@nicklebag123 This is Stevie's FINEST recorded concert IMHO. There may be some concerts I've not yet seen (is that possible?), but he and the guys were just on fire this night and all the stars aligned perfectly. He was SUCH a towering talent. It's 20 years on and I'm STILL marveling at his work and his passion nearly every day of my life. I love being part of SRV/DT's gant of miscreants!!! Thanks for your kind words above Nicklebag123!!
@SRV4evr You know it, man! I have a bootleg from Japan circa '85 I think. It's amazing, but I think Live @ The El Macombo will always be my favorite. Peace!
@nicklebag123 amen to you brother couldnt have put it better myself, never and wont ever get old. had this on VHS (still do somewhere) and bought it on DVD the first time I ever bought a DVD player, could not believe I found this on DVD, 2.07 onwards makes my head explode man (sheeit too many scotch's tonite I think, sorry folks)
@timj41 The VHS copy this show was my first live SRV experience (sadly, I never saw the band in person.) When it came out on DVD in 5.1 Dolby Digital I nearly shit my pants. Even if our civilization regresses back to the primitive I'll find someway of watching this show . This and Band Of Gypsys!!
@nicklebag123 You could not have said it better my friend in my heart and ears he will never die and as long as my fingers let me I'll try to play like him!!!!!!!!
why would you ever say something like that about Stevie Ray, you listened to him for the heart and soul, to watch a human master the art of guitar the way he did is beautiful, you may be right about the repetitive part but he wasn't around forever, he was a blessing to all guitar players of this world. And when his blessing was done he was taken from us, he had a job to do on earth, you ungrateful prick.
people gotta stop talkn shit bout canada..i am american NYC but canada is our brother country all you dumb fucks out there i hope somebody farts in your mouth while you sleep
@rocknroll1able Not nearly as many as alcoholic drug addled Stevie! He is useless, repetitive and unimaginative. Never got anywhere near acheiving his own sound. Boring with a capital 'B'. There are so many good guitar players out there- why would anyone listen to this?
@tony9L9L Oh, grow up for crying out loud you poor and sad creature, you're boring as hell and you write like a 3 year old stuck in a wheelchair. There is so many music out there, why spend time on something you obviously do not like you psycho? Folks like you mean nothing to the society, you're just embarassing yourself, every day like a true monkey.
@Sly6035 you shouldn't validate little tony by offering a reply to him...he's been on srv videos spewing bull shit like that forever....most of us just ignore him anymore
@johnny2366 Amen to that! Tony is a troll. He's probably hurting, and I am sorry but just ignore what he says, he has no excuse for trolling. I mean, it's okay to dislike it, but if he doesnt like it, he should just leave.

That DVD's great I got it about a month ago and I've been listening to it every day since I got it. The best songs on it are: Testify, So excited, Hug you, Squeeze you, Texas flood, Lenny, Love Struck Baby, and Tell Me.
Stevie ruled his kingdom, that's for GD sure! I have never seen a better guitar player! Jesus FKN Christ!!! Impressive is all I can say. A guitar player's guitar player, for MF sure!

Let me tell you something, pendejo. You pull any of your crazy shit with us, you flash a piece out on the lanes, I'll take it away from you, stick it up your ass and pull the fucking trigger 'til it goes "click." Nobody fucks with the Jesus.
@SRV4evr Did he ever do "Livin for the City" by Stevie Wonder, by any chance? I know this is probably a lost cause, but I think it would have been so awesome. It's just... him! For some reason, it suits him. Johnny Lang sings it though.

I've read that stevie used up to 18's and later in his career his guitar tech (i think) convinced him to start using 11's, 12's, and 13's because he was ripping the callouses off his fingers. Look around online there are tons of stuff dedicated to his tones, setups, strings, etc.
I don't know why your comment has thumbs down, because it's true. He said using the 18's was, "insane" but he played "more simply" with them. Whatever more simply means for Vaughan.
