Deflections, positioning and angles are the most important things of beïng a goalie... if he can do it when he's 10, then the change is pretty huge that he will be an amazing goalie when he's older.

strength is huge as a goaltender. Leg and abdomen strength is crucial. One Abdominal strength for balance and maneuverability and two leg strength for power in slides, movement and bouncing back up. Use your head before you comment.
