Animators use a thing called a model sheet. Figure out what the character looks like from all angles. Your Mary Jane changes wildly from scene to scene. I can tell what artists you are pulling for reference. At 1:45 you obviously looked at a John Romita MJ because out of the clear blue she has bangs. But in the next shot her profile completely changes and she looks like a Todd McFarlane Mary Jane with loose flowing hair.

Dude, that animation was spectacular. The cinematography was marvellous, the drawings themselves were skillfully drawn and the link between the music and the actual animation was done to an opulant degree.

The setting, the formality at the beginning, the music, and the overall film noir type of feel seems like it would suit Batman moreso than Spiderman. This video is excellent, however.

I hope to see perhaps an original series someday.

My Batman film was due to come out this year, I was writing the script and talking to my bosses about it until I got a better deal to do another movie.

Meaning the Batman film will start back up again once I finish the other film. We're gonna also see if Warner Bros will produce it to a DVD form.

It will come out, but it might be alittle bit longer than expected

I just basically did my research on Spiderman...I actually read alot of spiderman comics and saw the movies non-stop for about a month before true getting down and writing the animation. After that I started to map out the look of my own spidrman..and the rest just took off. Mostly it was the dedication that help me through it..I worked on this for like 8 months, before working on anything else. It was very stressful and very time consuming..Hope that helps.

Well done. It says a lot that the reveal of Venom here is handled extremely better than in the Spider-Man 3 film. Here he is the shadows, tensely building as Peter waits for it to emerge... in the movie? He just swings into frame with Sandman. Rubbish.

Well done, Sir. You've done a great job. My only real complaint is that the colour scheme is very dark, but otherwise it's an excellent attempt and I'm very impressed. Kudos :)

Let me start by saying, while it wasnt the best animated in terms of detail, fluidity, and things a being a little dark(still decent though), you certainly have a knack for the cinematic, as the pans, shots,& angles you used were amazing.I thought you were really on the right track with the intro,having Peter propose to MJ in the beginning,& rather than putting that random drama from SM3, you just flowed from the relationship developed in SM2.The only thing is that,you threw Venom in instantly.

However, I do realize this is a short flash, and you went straight for the point. Its a great concept though. But had I been in charge of the SM3 movie script, I would have kept the flowed relationship of peter and MJ from SM2 and had him propose like you did. Throw out Sandman all together(in the comics he was just a crook,& in the movie, they didnt make him very important or compelling, and justified it all under his daughter.),kept goblin & Venom. had the symbiote come from J.J's son's ship

In the 2nd movie, they already set it up by having J.J's son going into space, and all of a sudden in SM3, they totally blew it off, and said... oh, it came from a meteorite. Had Spiderman actually become more evil(they portrayed it better in the SM3 game (PS3/360 vers.), and not all ridiculous. ITS SUPPOSED TO BRING OUT HIS DARKEST QUALITIES!NOT TURN HIM INTO A FLAMBOYANT SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER DANCER! Also,there was about 1/4th spiderman in the entire film.Last I check this was SM3, not Peter 3.

I dig the intro but think you could have cut the film down a lot, it's a bit slow pased which caused me to loose attention after a while. I would recomend doing a 1 min short and do it really well. You have a lot to learn about animation so it's really good that you work on your own projects all the time, best way to learn is by doing and observing. Always keep a sketchbook, that way you kan draw ppl around u (anathomical studies) and write down any ideas u get. :) - Paulina

Thanks for the advice. I know I have alot to learn but I rather do my own thing. As for the length..I blame Spiderman. He bossed me around. Also the reason its so long is cause I believe that movies should not be judged great based on how well the action scenes look. I love the idea of Drama vs Suspense. It shows a side of normality mixed with complexity.

I also rather not map out anything. It gives me freedom to do whatever.

But thanks anyway and I hoped you enjoyed it.

i totally agree that action should not take over, what i meant was that if you make it shorter you can focus more on the quality of the animation rather than the quantity :)

Pre-production is also important, if you plan it all out beforehand it will look soo much better in the end.

I've studied animation for several years and am now working as a freelans animator so if you have any questions or need crit on your work i'd be glad to help :)

Hmmm..well I love stories and I don't think I can make something that short. I'm a storyteller and I just enjoy making things that have a story. long and especially long.

But yeah...that would be cool if you judged my stuff. I really don't mind. Good or bad. I just care that this film made me happy when I did it.

short stories are one of the hardest things to do since you need to get everything that is nessecary in in a very short amount of time. think about what can be cut out (not nessecary for the story) and how to cut things down using camera cuts.
