If you'd know anything about Illyrians and other peoples of ancient Illyricum than you would know that they did NOT share nor the same language nor the same material culture ... The Liburnians (and not the Librunians!) are not Illyrians! Please, do read the scholarly works written by Prof. Radoslav Katičić, Prof. Slobodan Čače and Prof. Anamarija Kurilić, if you want to learn something about that fascinating people inhabiting the Eastern Adriatic (between rivers Raša and Krka).

@TheBosnianPyramids my good sir, if bosnians were illyrians, they would be very similar to albanians. you would also speak a language that is albanian if not very close to it. bosnians however are slavic, as ethnicity is identified linguistically.

if you want to talk genetics, the balkans is so mixed and mashed that the greeks, albanians, and Romanians all large slavic influence.

There are many Albanians in Montenegro for example that have been forced to transform their last names into slavic ones: Marvukaj-Marvukic; Kurti-Kurtovic, etj. etj even though they are 100% Albanians.

I wouldn't be surprised if the same happened to ancient Illyrians in Bosnia and Croatia. Take in consideration that there was no strong national identity 1300 years ago.

in 1991 john wilks (Wilkes is the foremost LIVING authority on the Illyrians) said that bosnians are of illyrian decend. ten years after ALBANIAN accademics agreed with him: Kaplan Resuli, Fatos Lubonja, Ardian Qosi and Ardian Vebiu also other experts worlwide like: Paul, Hirt, Weigand, Tomashek, Georgiev, Pushcariu and many others. And then we got the genetic facts from Igenea, genograpic and familytreedna.

@bosna501 Yes Bosnians have some Illyrian blood and but the fact is that you aren't 100 % Illyrians due to the Barbarian invasions and Slav migration in northern Illyria ( these invasions started in 529 AD )..So what remained pure and 100% Illyrian was the south part of Illyria , Kosovo and Albania who didn't suffer from Slavic invasions..That's why your language is a dialect of Serbo-Croatian and your alphabet is cyrillic...

Due to the barbarian invasions your language is a Serbo- Croatian mix and many elements of Bosnia are represented from 3 different sectors (Serbians , Croatians & Bosnians) just like your football federation. That prooves that Bosnians are not ethnically clean but mixed with Serbs & Croatians.That is why you lost your Illyrian language.The only who still speak Illyrian are Albanians

These are 3 different ethnic groups which represent your ethnically mixed country..From a first view if I had to tell who are the Illyrians amongst the 3 different ethnic groups of Bosnia I would say Bosnians ! @MrAlbalover go read what is the genetic haplogroup for slavs? belorus,poles and russians have R1A...there is only 15% R1a in serb population and only 29-30% R1a in croat population...Does that answer your question??? In poland its like 50-60 % and the same with belorus and russia like 40-50 %. they have more R1a than THE BALKANS.... GO FIGURE.... the inhabitants just adopted the slavic language BUT DIDN'T CHANGE THEIR GENETIC phenotype..

@bosna501 at that time there was Bosnia or Croatia had only a nation that lived together and fought for the freedom of peace. Illyrians or Albanians and Kosovars now, were the best rider and archer at that time which is of course the wars their country protection, and certainly all over Europe were protected by their enemy in a while.
