Um, is it possible to enjoy Molly and NOT know what satire is? Probably not. Her best songs are tongue and cheek, originals and covers. That's why I keep coming back. If I were really offended I wouldn't be a subscriber. Still, as much as I like Molly's rendition of this, I cringe a bit having actually met an atomic bomb survivor. Also I currently live outside of Tokyo which was mercilessly carpet bombed during WWII. Even if it's social commentary, the song is not as funny as we all think.

I like it, and I appreciate that you're not slavish in your covers (Randy Newman is probably the best Randy Newman we'll get), but I thought most of the performance was a bit rushed, and the timing too even---Newman's more deliberate pace makes his character _seem_ more reasonable, if only to himself.
