@tylersfs: You're right this is the last record with Kelly, but the split of 3+3 had already taken place. This album came out at the same time as IJI "Broadways Closer..." That's not Marvin on bass, but session musician Neil Stubbenhaus. Notice there are only "3" on the cover?
Yeah, this is the last album they recorded where all 6 members from "Isley 3+3" were still alive. This would be O'Kelly Isley's last album, then they would split into IJI (Isley Jasper Isley), and Ron's solo career eventually emerged after a few projects with future Mrs. Isley, Angela Wimbush, and a couple of recordings with Ernie and (from time to time Rudolph).
This takes me back to my senior year in high school. Marvin's thumpin' bass holds this tune together nicely.
@tylersfs the Isley brothers split after 1983's Between the Sheets album IJI first album was in 1984, this album came out the same year that IJI hit with the Caravan of Love Lp 1985
Yeah....This is one of those albums where Isleys was still somewhat together with O 'Kelly and the crew .....a loss...but, they did a great job changing the tempo, to fit the times....I remember playing this album .....after a hard day's work........and chillin' the most.........listening to the music....and the words........I was living Colder are my night's
I loved this song. I remember my mother broke her neck driving to a little record shop on 111th Halsted in Chicago to purchase this song on a 45. We played it everyday..lol
This album was produce by Ron Isley and Angela Winbush. It would also be the last album that Kelly Isley would perform on. Later that year after the album was released and during the tour Kelly passed away. This is one of my all time favorites by the group.
@Lordinvdious Sorry but Angela had nothing to do with this one. This one was produced by The Isley Brothers themselves. Angela Acame in on the "Smooth Sailing album!
This is a classic!!!

I may be an old fart, but the Isleys don't sound right with a drum machine.
