The poster showing the tour dates is awesome. I was at the show in Augusta. I believe it was the second time they played at NY,NY, a disco that had a "New Wave Night" and bands such as REM,Pylon, and the The Drastics came through town. I was under age and Jefferson Holt, REM's manager, let me use his ID to get in. "Rockville" took some getting used to when it appeared on vinyl a few years later and had a country feel. Of course, at that time, REM was the best band in America and I loved it all.
I have a pink LP "So Much Younger Then" recorded live in 1981. I wonder if it was at the same place - it doesn't say. Has an awesome version of "Body Count" (my fave on the LP) which is abit faster than this version.
this shit is sooo wonderful to have. you can see on the flyer they play in Greensboro on the 31st. My sis took me but I was too young and couldn't get in, but could hear it all outside. it's givin me goosebumps just to hear them from back then!!
you really are a twit. as you have so proven, any moron w/ thumbs can get DLO, but this stuff is rare and shows their capabilities as a young band before tools like you started grooving on "shiny happy people." Leave the real conversations to us adults.
Actually I have many REM bootlegs like Return of the Rickenbackers on Vinyl and stopped listening to REM when Green hit. I also listen to Pylon, Method Actors, BBQ Killers, Love Tractor and many other Athens bands and have been to Athens many times in the 80's. Like I said, you have a nostalgic connection to that recording. That doesn't make it good.
This recording sounds much better before it was transferred to crappy youtube mono...i just put a link to download the show on my main channel page if anyone wants it!

The fact that Buck could hardly play guitar at the start has to be a myth judging by this. This is f**kin awesome. A sure sign of what was to come!

your ingnorance is amazing. this is hard to come by, never released live stuff. DLO had some rarities, but this shit is for real!

This recording is shit, you just have a sentimental attachement to it, DLO has a much better recording of this song.
