  • haha this was my favourite toy when i was 12. I remember building it for the 3rth time, but sadly I had to skip the crane part because all the electronics were broken. I just filled the open spaces with black blocks instead. I'm 17 years now and its still intact.

  • @vividFlibbertigibbet

the truck runs with 9 volt (6 x AA, 6X1,5V=9V)

  • What motor do u use?

  • Just finished building it. Havent tested with batteries yet though. xD

  • i have the parts in a bag... perhaps ill build it soon...xD

  • i'm sorry!

you have the building instruction for pick up truck? I've lost!!!

  • is that a small air compressor

  • yes...

  • i have this truck

  • this truck is amzing but its to expensiv for me

  • very cool

  • I modified this set back in 95ish into a low-loading big-rig tractor-unit with added trailer with detachable pneumatic 'neck' for all my other construction sets when I woz a kid, coz I thought the crane looked a little out of place on the back of that awesome working rig - woz my crowning moment in model making: over a meter long in total and fully operational... before the days of brickshelf or pick-a-brick sadly so no pics or plans and it took a year to canabalise other sets for the parts....

  • ....It, along with the others also certainly made an excellent birthday present for the kids of the thief that burgled our house when we were on holiday that year, and broke my heart into the bargain....Hmm, maybe its time I put those pieces (and bricks) back together again, eh! :-)

  • got this one myself. now rebuild into the 8868 truck. time to get back to this again! nice to be a kid again!

  • I got this set. recently rebuild it...had fun like i was a kid back in 1992.

  • It needs new batteries!

  • I just got this set off ebay. It rocks except it doesn't rotate that smoothly, it jumps a bit kind of like yours. I think it might need lubricating.

  • They all rotate like this, it's normal. Word of advice: DO NOT lubricate your pneumatics.

  • Yeah... actually I've seen some videos of them turning smoothly and I put some new cylinders on my truck and it turned a lot better. I also emailed lego and they told me to put some vasaline on the metal part of the cylinder

  • is this airtech claw rig?

  • no that one was green

  • i spent 13 years trying to track this kit down but i modded mine with a v8

  • were did you buy that

  • get a better bucket

  • That set is the 8868 "Air Tech Claw Rig" and came out in 1992. Brilliant set.

  • I love this set! You can do all sorts of things with it too- I put on a bucket and longer arm and turned it into an excavator (was pretty good at digging up snow) Taking off the crane section makes it into a good semi truck and just asks for a trailer to match :)

  • that is not a pick up truck

  • well its a truck and it can pick stuff up soooo... lol

  • well literaly yes but not rele

  • i kniow thats why i put LOL for laugh out loud or jk for just kidding ppl they take stuf so literaly lol jk

  • lmao

  • I've got this truck too, it's still built up sitting on top of my wardrobe gathering dust! it was an awesome bit of kit in it's day.

  • ive got this truk and the bulldozer 2

    really fun

  • lete the air build up a little and add an airtank to it for more use

  • sorry, that was a little boring...next time why don't u have it lift pencils, and move them around!

  • This was put on for an ebay auction if you care to read the comments

  • cool, i also had this truck, it was great!
