I have no argument with the fact that the ozone hole is not getting any bigger (on average)--my point was that the ozone hole problem has not improved as was claimed.
Presently, ozone depleting gases have declined about 8-9% in the Antarctic stratosphere, yet 2006 was a record year and 2008 was one of the largest ozone holes in its history.
"Solar proton events" also have an integral role in depletion. To suggest we have all the science solved, even here, is overstating the situation.
The only people saying that anthropogenic climate change is no longer debatable are those who have made their and plugged their ears and refuse to believe anything that doesn't fit their hypothesis (both sides do this and it annoys me to no end).
The ozone hole was never really debated; we had something that we knew we caused. There was a direct cause-effect relationship.
We should have fixed it and we did.

The co2 models I have seen on wikipedia under "climate change" (check it yourself) show that on a long term (450 - 500 million years) the co2 level is nothing extraordinary.
Plants use CO2 for growth and produce more Breathable oxygen because of it. Nature definitely needs no help from us. The cycles are simply natural. There is nothing to fear.

As of June 1st, via real data by rss (remote sensing systems) and uah (university of alabama huntsville)...using satellites to monitor global temperatures for the last 30 years (1979-2008).
May 2008 was below the 30 year mean...which means it has cooled. Warming has not continued since 1998 (if you search and examine these graphs).
Stop believinge everything you've heard and check the data yourself.

If the history of the Earth was represented as a 40 story building, the furthest back we can go back in history would amount to a layer of paint on the roof. It's impossible to know if this is just a natural warming curve. Plus, many states are reporting record low temperatures. Not to mention the global cooling scare in the 70's which turned out to be false. So what, all this happened in just over 30 years? Use your brain.
For the record, the cooling was predicted because of our use of aerosols, which has decreased markedly in the past 30 years, thus the cooling from the 40s to the 70s stopped, however, our increased CO2 outputs has increased it. As for the increased temperatures in some states, well, not all states get as much sun as Florida (where I am from) and so the increased rain (also caused by CO2) would tend to cool them more. And the warmer temps would make more rain and less snow...sound familiar?

How about the fact that Co2 is 5x heavier then air and the only way it can ever get up into the Atmosphere,which is 85.5% dry air and 5.5% Water vapor, is to ride up on the water evaporating from the Oceans,Lakes,etc and then "rains down" to feed plants (it doesn't stay in the air) where it is reasorbed by the OCeans or sinks into the permaforst or damp soil, some recirculating back up?
You know, when I first started teaching about this last month, that was my thought, but if you check your chemistry again, you will find that both CO2 and CO are produced when fossil fuels burn. Furthermore, it will ride water vapor and go into the air, but it is lighter than water itself, so it will not necessarily fall down with rain--some may, but not all. So, your argument is as true as Chris Merchant's claim that global warming was a swindle.

um, only if the filtration system has a catalst converter does the inefficient combustion technology produce carbon dioxide,which is now accused of causing "global warming" instead of Carbon Monoxide,once accused of causing "global cooling". But since such converters contain gold and platinum it is a pricey thing and it is easier to use chemically treated paper and cloth filters to capture 95% of emmisions in the U.S. according to EPA standards that have only gotten stricter since the 70's
I'm still checking on the weight issue, as I don't recall from chemistry that CO2 is 5X heavier than air (which is made of oxygen, nitrogen, and others), however, regarding the catalytic converter--the US has required them on all cars since the 70s so we do produce CO2. I do recall that when I lived in Scotland years ago (1986-1990) that if we imported a US car we had to remove the catalytic converter, so you may be safe in that regard, but the US is not.

I've been thinking and checking into the CO2 as a refrigerant, and yes that is true, BUT that is CO2 under pressure (like in an extinguisher, which doesn't really cool but displaces O2). And I'm pretty sure free CO2 in the air is not under enough pressure to be cold, so it won't be a coolant. FYI, simple chemistry, not meteorology.

Aces, I remember some cold winters in Ohio too, and now they don't have them as often--but since they are further north than say Thailand, they don't get as much sun and still have some cold winters. But as you said, freezing rain is much more prevalent than a clean snow. Furthermore, I agree, there is no reason NOT to be ecological and it doesn't make you a "treehugger" just because you want to keep your world clean and as healthy as possible.

What really disgusts me about this whole global warming scam is that the supposed ways of stopping it are in favor of the NWO. Whats they're answer to global warming? Tax people for what they exhale and plants inhale, stop the third world from industrializing, when it's been proven the rate of birth decreases when a country industrializes and now they're proposing controlling how long we can have our AC and lights on, which in turn will give them even more control over every facet of our lives.

Minilemur-to clarify for you-ice core samples show CO2 and Temp. are related-by natural means (fluctuations in earth's orbit) and others the earth warms and cools, and warmer water holds less Co2 than colder. So no, in the past Co2 doesn't drive climate warming, but that doesn't mean that more Co2 will not change the temp. You are using half truths to make your point.

What happened 800 years ago is highly relevant if what you are trying to prove is a causal link between CO2 and temperature. In short, the history of the planet over many thousands of years shows no causal connection. As for the recent graphs you claim, in fact you obviously haven't even looked at them! Temperatures ris before CO2, and then fall when CO2 rises, and then coincide for about 25 years, and then fall again when CO2 rises.
Last week the forcast (for this week) in my area was for temps to be in the 40's; they were off by 10 degrees and we're heading down. If they can't accurately predict weekly weather, why should we believe what they're saying about global warming?

Likewise, the globe has not warmed for about a decade and is actually cooling at present (by all measures--satellite, surface stations, etc.)

It isn't shrinking, but it isn't getting any bigger either.
CFC's have a REALLY long life in the upper atmosphere. You're looking at 20-25 years or so.
Seeing how Montreal Protocol was signed about 20 years ago (give or take), we shouldn't expect to have seen much change (other that "it's not getting worse") before now.
Ozone Hole: Real problem, caused by humans.
Climate Change: Problem? maybe. Caused by humans? Eh, not so much.

I have no argument with the fact that the ozone hole is not getting any bigger (on average)--my point was that the ozone hole problem has not improved as was claimed.
Presently, ozone depleting gases have declined about 8-9% in the Antarctic stratosphere, yet 2006 was a record year and 2008 was one of the largest ozone holes in its history.
"Solar proton events" also have an integral role in depletion. To suggest we have all the science solved, even here, is overstating the situation.

The ozone hole was never really debated; we had something that we knew we caused. There was a direct cause-effect relationship.
We should have fixed it and we did.

1) World Governments subsidize oil to make it 10 cents a galoon otherwise it would be $6-$7 a gallon from "Big Oil" to all oil consumers
2) The Gasoline Makers is a separate industry that World Governments subsidized the wholesale price of gas at $1.10 before taxes.The price at the pump is mostly taxes($3.53 is taxes in hawaii)

As of June 1st, via real data by rss (remote sensing systems) and uah (university of alabama huntsville)...using satellites to monitor global temperatures for the last 30 years (1979-2008).
May 2008 was below the 30 year mean...which means it has cooled. Warming has not continued since 1998 (if you search and examine these graphs).
Stop believinge everything you've heard and check the data yourself.
You'll see that our hubris in belief that we are causing a crisis...isn't coming true.

If the history of the Earth was represented as a 40 story building, the furthest back we can go back in history would amount to a layer of paint on the roof. It's impossible to know if this is just a natural warming curve. Plus, many states are reporting record low temperatures. Not to mention the global cooling scare in the 70's which turned out to be false. So what, all this happened in just over 30 years? Use your brain.

For the record, the cooling was predicted because of our use of aerosols, which has decreased markedly in the past 30 years, thus the cooling from the 40s to the 70s stopped, however, our increased CO2 outputs has increased it. As for the increased temperatures in some states, well, not all states get as much sun as Florida (where I am from) and so the increased rain (also caused by CO2) would tend to cool them more. And the warmer temps would make more rain and less snow...sound familiar?

Burning fossil fuels does NOT make Co2 unless there is a Catalsyt converter in the filtration system. Since it is expensive technology, requiring platinum, most stack filters and car filters systems don't have catalyst system.

What happens when you increase temperatures near a water source? Water evaporates and becomes water vapor, which in turn causes increased humidity, which increases rain. Considering more than 2/3 of the earth is a water source and temperatures drop after rain, hmm. And if it's impossible because of weights for CO2 to be in the atmosphere trapping heat--how does a greenhouse work, even in the coldest of winters?

YOu do know that Cars make Carbon Monoxide, not Carbon Dioxide..only Animals and plants produce CO2?
How about the fact that Co2 is 5x heavier then air and the only way it can ever get up into the Atmosphere,which is 85.5% dry air and 5.5% Water vapor, is to ride up on the water evaporating from the Oceans,Lakes,etc and then "rains down" to feed plants (it doesn't stay in the air) where it is reasorbed by the OCeans or sinks into the permaforst or damp soil, some recirculating back up?

You know, when I first started teaching about this last month, that was my thought, but if you check your chemistry again, you will find that both CO2 and CO are produced when fossil fuels burn. Furthermore, it will ride water vapor and go into the air, but it is lighter than water itself, so it will not necessarily fall down with rain--some may, but not all. So, your argument is as true as Chris Merchant's claim that global warming was a swindle.

um, only if the filtration system has a catalst converter does the inefficient combustion technology produce carbon dioxide,which is now accused of causing "global warming" instead of Carbon Monoxide,once accused of causing "global cooling". But since such converters contain gold and platinum it is a pricey thing and it is easier to use chemically treated paper and cloth filters to capture 95% of emmisions in the U.S. according to EPA standards that have only gotten stricter since the 70's

I'm still checking on the weight issue, as I don't recall from chemistry that CO2 is 5X heavier than air (which is made of oxygen, nitrogen, and others), however, regarding the catalytic converter--the US has required them on all cars since the 70s so we do produce CO2. I do recall that when I lived in Scotland years ago (1986-1990) that if we imported a US car we had to remove the catalytic converter, so you may be safe in that regard, but the US is not.

I've been thinking and checking into the CO2 as a refrigerant, and yes that is true, BUT that is CO2 under pressure (like in an extinguisher, which doesn't really cool but displaces O2). And I'm pretty sure free CO2 in the air is not under enough pressure to be cold, so it won't be a coolant. FYI, simple chemistry, not meteorology.

.038% Co2 by volume in "Dry Air" has a uniform IR Absorption rate of 1.3f degrees around the world.
GHG Theory is a crock and has never been provable in the lab as IR rays bouncing like microwaves and GHG vibrating and more mass of GHGs like CO2 allowing more absorption of heat breaks multiple laws of real world physics

I remember having lots of snow in winter when I was a child here in Belgium, these past 5 years there almost was no snow at all.
When I look at some fotos from that time I am amazed at how things were back then during winter.
Lots more floods and rain too now, so in my oppinion there really is something going on.
Prehaps you need a second Katrina to open your eyes, besides, even if global warming isnt true, theres no reason at all not to be ecological.

Aces, I remember some cold winters in Ohio too, and now they don't have them as often--but since they are further north than say Thailand, they don't get as much sun and still have some cold winters. But as you said, freezing rain is much more prevalent than a clean snow. Furthermore, I agree, there is no reason NOT to be ecological and it doesn't make you a "treehugger" just because you want to keep your world clean and as healthy as possible.

Minilemur-to clarify for you-ice core samples show CO2 and Temp. are related-by natural means (fluctuations in earth's orbit) and others the earth warms and cools, and warmer water holds less Co2 than colder. So no, in the past Co2 doesn't drive climate warming, but that doesn't mean that more Co2 will not change the temp. You are using half truths to make your point.

Ok here is what's going on with global warming. The sun has been very active in the last decade and has heated up the earth. We will be going into a less active period in a few short years in fact it will be off the bottom of the charts in solar inactivity: you can find this on NASA's website. I can keep going on and on but it is better you read for yourself and find the truth out for yourself, so I suggest that you Google the topic global cooling and look under news articles.

what the people below dident say to you is that green house gasses ARE directly related to global warming. There are many study's in which they have used ice coars to determine the earths green house gas level [some gas gets trapped in the ice as it freezes] and they have calculated global temperature over a long period of time [i dont really understand how they did it, it was really confusing, compiling allot of different data and junk]

wow, just got this today. what happened 800 years ago is no longer relevant. a rise 800 years ago could have been caused by many other things. however, the rise today, has been clearly graphed to show that the more greenhouse gasses there are, the higher the average temp is. even in an inconvenient truth they mention what u are talking about. its called the mediaeval warm period. the temp. rise during that period is miniscule (around .09 degrees) compared to the whole .5 degrees were up in 2000

What happened 800 years ago is highly relevant if what you are trying to prove is a causal link between CO2 and temperature. In short, the history of the planet over many thousands of years shows no causal connection. As for the recent graphs you claim, in fact you obviously haven't even looked at them! Temperatures ris before CO2, and then fall when CO2 rises, and then coincide for about 25 years, and then fall again when CO2 rises.

Last week the forcast (for this week) in my area was for temps to be in the 40's; they were off by 10 degrees and we're heading down. If they can't accurately predict weekly weather, why should we believe what they're saying about global warming?

Current global warming hysteria from idiot like Gore et al., are based on non-scientific data and are meant to scare all into change through guilt. Science shows that the earth has always had flutuations in temperatures - however that is not "sexy" enough for the huge global warming business.

I found it sooo suspicious when Al Gore got the Nobel Prize!! These guys started screwing up the environment when they were in power! Now Clinton Foundation is devoted to "fighting climate change and to end poverty!, which they didn't do when in power. BTW, it was a Rothschild who organised LiveEarth!!

The only be change we made to Earth is to build Hoover Dam. Other than that you can film from above and not see any evidence of Man on the landscape. The only thing we done to change the air is a few dozen planes flying here and there. We are a meek race.

Global warming will push us into an ice age. Warmer temperatures will cause more water vapor and that will eventually fall as more precipitation...snow. There will end up being more snow in the arctic.

Yeah, in the next 50 to 100 thousand years perhaps. I really think there are far more important issues than climate change that need our immediate attention. What is it with people and their morbidly fatalistic obsessions? I just love it how people talk about this issue as if they actually know something, when even climate scientists haven't got a real clue.

Did Al Gore or Clinton fight climate change when in power? NOOO. They started screwing up the environment, and Bush continued. There's politics involved in this, e.g. A WORLDWIDE CARBON TAX and a world-level economic entity to collect and administer this tax. Look this up!!
