  • Looks like a Mechanical pressure gauge. Is it? I an tell by the slight fluctuation at idle.

  • @97warlock .. No.. It's an electrical gauge. The oil pump was just sucking in air and killing the oil pressure.. it was a bad oil pump pickup O-Ring for the ported oil pump. They need a larger O-Ring, from GM parts.

  • nice 45psi is solid... my 69 olds is ~ 40-42psi at idle. and up to like 58-60 @ full tilt.

i like ur setup, sounds strong(and scary for a street car)

    keep up the great work,

    OldsPowered69

  • @OldsPowered69 It's my buddy's car, but I helped build the heads and cam setup. Most of the engine tear down and build up.

  • i have a lt1 on a cold start at idle its about 42psi when its warm its about 2-8psi and sumtimes it reads 0. but on the highway it's around 30psi until i let off the accelerator. if it were really 0 im sure the motor would be locked up any ideas people?

  • @IceCold314 Check up on LS1Tech.com.. Sign in and ask away.. They have an LT1/4 section.

  • yup new oil pump o-ring every time...i learned the hard way too

  • i use heavy duty oil stabilizer in my differential 100 percent pure form i use it in my lawnmowers and everything i own i had a lawnmower billowing smoke out of it and now it doesnt use a drop of oil just a puff of smoke on start up till the lucas circulates ive used all the lucas products they all work i use all the products for a fact firm believer here

  • Thats Great My 350 Chevy Engine Has 75 Pounds Cold 50 Hot On The Highway 50 And 55 Pounds Hot It Will Move A Little nothing is perfect but a huge fluctuation would indicate a problem put you a quart of lucas heavy duty oil stabilizer in it will stabilize the pressure thats what i did b4 i put the lucas in i had 40 pouds oil pressure cold no joke now its up to 75 cold and 55 hot 2 quarts of lucas heavy duty oil stabilizer wouldnt hurt it i use 2 and a half

  • Hehe oil PSI looks great, not like my old LT1 3PSI@2500 RPMs haahaha that engine is gone now, got a new LT1 in it now :D

  • wth really man. i would have gotten nervous driving like that

  • hey i've had a problem with mine, when ever it's idling it usually at around 25, and when on the highway at around 65 it's at around 45, is this the same issue you had?

  • It's holen up strong.. We've got about 1000-1500 miles on it now w/ no problems.. (knock on wood)

I got to drive it.. It's almost useless under 4k rpm.. It doesn't have the snap mien does, but his car feel kind of heavy.

  • hows the MS4 holding up? i just put the MTI X1 in mine about a month ago and took the drive up to TSP in Lubbock. the next step is some headdddds. right now, 402hp/398tq at the wheels

  • We havent had the cam in the car long enough to realize spring problems yet. It pulls hard, but some people have been posting about eyelash problems w/ the MS4 lately.

  • I'm thinking about getting the ms4 cam, but i hered u go through springs like crazy. is this true. would u recomend this cam or should i stick to a trex cam?

  • ^ yeah.. we had to rip the oil pump and heads off to replace the lifters and the O ring for the oil pump. The engine and car only has about 35k miles on it. The O ring solved the fluctuation problem.

  • I just installed the MS4 in my car with the PRC stage 1 heads. Need to get the fine tuning down but man is it kick ass fun. Luckily everything is holding up and working fine. Well all except the stock clutch :( It's a given

  • Read the description.. It's a reference video.

  • That's a little funky

  • what the fuck is this?
