  • I was 14 when this happened and I remember it like it was yesterday.

  • @TheDzonevideo duh it won him the heisman, it was in the gam of the century tard!

  • Should've run this against OU in the Big 12 Championship last year. Martinez probably would've dropped it though.

  • this was still a great highlight

  • the play that won him the heisman was the 99 yd td against mizzou

  • This play won him the Heisman?

  • not that impressive

  • @fishoutofwater121 looks like we got a OU fan here....

  • i was at that game. whole stadium went wild when he caught that pass.

  • I'll never forget this play or this game, one of my favorites. OU tried to same play and failboated the shit out of it. GBR.

  • I love the homerism on the radio call. Vintage

  • HE'S GOT A MAN OUT THERE AT THE 40...IT IS...ERIC CROUCH!!! 15, 10, 5, TOUCHDOWN!!!!

  • the old waterboy... got em coach!

  • WVU fan here...and this was awesome..great call by the announcers too...the hesitation until they realized who caught the ball was amazing

  • Solich uses this play from time to time with Ohio U.

  • Every hair on my neck just stood up. I love that play. Still remember where I was and who I was watching this game with when it happened.

  • E-P-I-C

  • drew that play in the dirt! and executed it flawlessly!

  • go big red!

  • i would say the only dislike on this video would have to be a disgruntled oklahoma fan..but why? the rivalry is so awesome between the huskers and sooners you think mutual respect would be a natural thing or hatred i suppose..or perhaps it's one of those wanna be rivals a cu fan? either way this was a great play and when nebraska and oklahoma get together it's always a must watch even if it's a blowout on either side gonna miss it since we are going to the big 10

  • @darthhvader Ok, no, that was retarded, I hate when people say stupid shit like that "the dislike was from..." Maybe it was a person who has seen better, or a person who wanted to see the whole game...idk, you dont know.. Im a Sooner fan and i liked that play, Im an Oklahoma fan, but im also a fan of College Football, and giving NU props for a well executed play is something that doesnt bother me.

  • I recall Gooner players bitching about that play that is was pussy and we could not beat them heads up ,yet those idiots forgot they tried the exact same play in the exact same game. F OU .

  • Such a simple play call, but probably the second best in Nebraska history simply because of the emotions in the announcers' voices:

"First Down and Ten to go.

Here's a hand off to Thunder who gives to Mike Stuntz.

He's gonna throw it! He's got a man out there (YEAH!) at the 40! It is....ERIC CROUCH!!! FIFTEEN TEN FIVE TOUCHDOWN!!!! (OHH YEAAAAAAHH!!!!!)"

Of course the best is Lyell Bremser's call of Johnny Rodgers' punt return against OU in '71.

Interesting that they both came against OU.

  • 1 person is gay.

  • @MusicVideosOf2010 Or a Sooners fan. =)

  • It was difficult to beat OU. This one crisp autumn it took a Heisman winner and a trick play to seal the deal. Gutsy call considering they only had a three point lead at the time.

  • @soulfury123 yeah, must have been real difficult when our heisman winning QB went out in that game.

  • Awesome!

  • I remember seeing it live on tv great memories and im a vol fan

  • Gotta love it when the quarterback catches a pass.

  • I was a football manager from 1999-2002 at Nebraska and in 2001 we practiced this play everyday. I couldn't believe we actually ran it in a game and a game this big too boot. Great outcome though!

  • This was so bad ass, remember watching this as younger guy

  • I'm not a Husker fan, it's all about the U lol, but that's got to be one of the best trick plays I've ever seen, well done Eric Crouch.

  • @BrandonGDOG My God! I was wrong about Miami fans! Turns out they CAN respect other teams and players! Thank you Brandon, for bring my "class meter" one notch up from the bottom. You are obviously an educated and classy fan. I was at the 2001 title and that's where the meter hit rock bottom. In fact, it went NEGATIVE. You out-shine your fellow fans well. I almost can't believe I'm saying my usual youtube signature like this, but "Good luck this season. Go Canes and GO BIG RED!!!"

  • I remember watching this yelling, cheering and screaming... go go go

  • @CRXPhil i think i did the exact same thing. Pretty much all you could do if your a husker fan.

  • I remember after the game they showed an interview of an OU player and he said, "that's the play that won it for them". I thought, "nooooooo...NU was winning before that play."

  • "He's got a man open! It is............ERIC CROUCH!!! 15...10...5..TOUCHDOWN!!! OH YEAH!!!!" Wow what an amazing quote. Almost as Exciting as Lyle's "MAN, Woman and Child! That put him in the aisle. Johnny the JET Rodgers just tore 'em loose from their shoes!" or my second favorite "TOUCHDOWN TOMMIE FRAIZAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

  • it is.... it is.... ERIC CROUCH!!!!! 15..10..5..TOUCHDOWN!!!! Almost as exciting as hearing Lyle say "Man, Woman, and Child that put 'im in the aisle. Johnny the Jet Rodgers jus' tore them loose from their shoes!"

  • Please, OU did the same play earlier in the game, but the QB Nate Hyble tripped over his own shoelaces. Was the play executed very well? yes. Is it amazing trickery? No.

  • my highschool team did pretty much the same play last year, which won a championship for us.

  • how do you know the what the play is called?

  • Hands down the most exciting play when I was a student and the loudest I've ever heard memorial.. I was about 8 rows off the field in the student section near the end zone at that game..we will be top ten again soon..

  • man i thought this was the vid when thunder collins got DESTROYED on a reverse like this by jonathan vilma in the rose bowl, someone put that vid up plz.

  • Just one thing, Nebraska was #3 and OU was #2, not NU #1 and OU #2.

  • IN his mind he wants to think that.

  • actually it was OU #1 vs #2 NU

the year before in 2000 when they matched up it was NU #1 vs OU #2

  • No actually it was #3 NU vs #2OU; Miami was #1 in 2001.

  • ill prove u wrong in about 2 seconds

  • I was referring to the AP Poll and those were the rankings. In the BCS, however, it was #1 vs #2.

  • oh i see. didnt mean to get in a bickerment

  • It's cool. But I was like, I'm looking at the Husker Home Video tape right now and it says 3 vs 2. LOL

  • In 2001 AP OU #2 vs NU #3 but the BCS poll was OU #1 and NU #2.

  • I was there. Oklahoma ran a similar play earlier in the third quarter fortunate for nebraska their QB slipped on the play and the ball was over thrown. But when nebraska ran it the building exploded and it was as loud as I have ever heard. GAME OVER.

  • Yep, you're right. Nate Hybl slipped on the play. He was wide open too

  • i too remember watching this on tv. although i lived right by the stadium. the cheering was so loud it knocked pictures off my wall. it was AWESOME!!!! ... great game. GO BIG RED!

  • I remember watching this game.... back home in Omaha.... I tell you the truth: Everytime I watch this it's like it's live again. The goose bumps, the thrill. I almost cry everytime I watch this. The Raw emotion: Nothing cares to Nebraska!

  • black 41 flash reverse!!!!

  • thunder collins got arrested for murder

  • Truthfully anyone who watches this play whether he is a husker fan or not has to admire the trickery on the play.

  • YES!! best play ever!

    GO HUSKERS!

  • that still gives me the chills watching that play...

  • Adrian's reaction to the play makes it all the better. Yah!!!

  • Man that stadium was going nuts at that play!! I was working securtiy and it was crazy!!!

  • Actally Adrian does get paid to cheer and scream. He works for Nebraska.

  • He could at least cheer off mic, like the stadium announcer.

  • Not to mention the fact the he ends statements with "...so..." such as "The only team that's been shut out this year? Colorado, 58-0, by Missouri, so..." This is what untrained, unprofessional speakers do when they don't know how to finish a thought. You NEVER hear Kugler or Sharpe do this or even Pavelka. Heck, Rose didn't do it either. I'm sure he's a nice guy and all, but he simply does not belong in a broadcaster's booth among trained professionals.

  • i played against mike stuntz way back when, he was underrated

  • Dude, you got THAT right. I saw him play on a muddy field and I couldn't believe how he could pivot.

  • my all time favorite play
