It could equally take multiple nuclear missile hits because in space since there is no atmosphere for the shockwave and heat to travel the effectiveness of the nuclear warhead is greatly reduced.

I actually lament this episode. The rescuing of those that failed to hold faith against and fell to oppression by the Cylon. The fulfillment of honor by those in uniform who die for those who fail to fight; sacrifice is everywhere in this episode. The destruction of the BS-62 “Pegasus” was also saddening, but it is BSG not BSG w/ Pegasus. Although, I like Commander Kain more that Admiral Cain, he had guts!

It's pretty fucking messed up that they sacrificed the Pegasus instead of the Galactica... The Pegasus was larger and more combat capable, they could've easily evacuated the Galactica before the Pegasus jumped away. *sigh*

@staruna09 I think the time is related to calculating the jump-co-ordinates - the further away the longer as there are more variables - if you already pre-plot the co-ordinates - or the distance is so short - I think that the jumps happen quite quickly. Hence in "Scar " the Cylon fighter could attack, kill and immediately jump out.

Destroying the New Pegasus was an Artistic Mistake and a StoryLine Blunder. She should have survived and made it back to the Fleet with Heavy Damage. The remaining ships of the Fleet would have been Scavengedand then Broken down for Raw Material to repair her. the Civilians would have been Transffered and Housed on Pegasus. with 10,000 less People than what they started with, the Survivors needed extra Protection. The Galactica & The Pegasus in Both Versions of Galactica are Myth and Legends.

If you see the raptors shoot off a lot of rockets, they show up as a blip on the Dreydis, but they shot off so many clustered together (as planned) to look like a battlestar on the dreydis, then later Lee couldn't sit back anymore so he disobeyed his father and came to the planet to help

@VikramRao75 the raptors launched the missles which were causing a dummy battlestar signal. Hence the cylons thought 2 battlestars were in orbit before Galactica had even jumped.

Thanks, that scene what you're talking about was really great, but i don't think that all hope was lost there, because Pegasus saved the Galactica. I left out that scene because in the end of the video the Galactica falls.

I don't get something. Why did Pegasus not jump away when Galactica got away? It didn't seem to be in that bad of shape just yet by the time Galactica's FTL got up and running. Were they covering the ground escape still?

The Pegasus covered the ground escape, it was in bad shape, because all of the remaining basestars attacked it, and i'm sure that the basestars took out the FTL drives first.
