At first i thought: There is no way that is real, must have been a failure on the car" But looking again you can clearly see that he is laying skid marks all the way till he spins out. Probably just a very optimistic start on cold tires, and a badly misjudged gear change. Not very well done, especially for a rally driver, who i thought should be good at throttle control.
@XfsxnfsX Yes it has, but he can still mess up the gear change. If he has wheelspin, which he would have had because of the skidmarks and he then changes up there will be send more torque to the rear wheel. If he changes up and wheels still spins he will loose even more traction. I don't know if it is what caused the spin, but it does sound like he changed up just before he lost the rear end.
If you look up Topgears segment on the Renault F1 you'll see that piloting an F1 car isn't a fucking joke and should be taken seriously. And yes it's called piloting when it comes to a Formula 1 car for a reason.
Obviously something in the drive line let go and the right side quit pulling. I don't care where the driver is from or where he spends his holy days, that was not his fault.
@ 1:32 the left skid mark trails longer. so they either had tire or differential issues. whatever the case may have been, it was definitely an issue with the car.
my biggest questions is "how come the traction control was off? Was he intimidated by the Ford GT?"

@pattheiceman no he's just a moron and has no idea what he's doing. The car has a launch control system that allows the driver to achieve max acceleration but as soon as you take ur foot off the gas that system shuts off and you can hear him take the foot off the gas then push the pedal down again which was too much power and caused the wheels to spin...making him crash.
he had to take off his foot of the gas so he could shift..
what happened is that he was doing a burnout since he took of from the departure line (you can see the tires' marks on the floor), then high-revd the car when shifted to second, which made the tires spin.
goes the same for any other cars, really. thats how you do a burnout on a long distance, on second gear.
the driver obviously doesnt know what the fuck he was doing. fucking tool !

what corner r u talking about exactly? it was the start-finish straight that he screwed it up on. what had happened is, inspite of his impeccable collection of cars, he being a rally driver, must not have experienced an F1 car's acceleration before. cuz u can hear the car reaching its top end of 1st gear, but his mind isnt working fast enough to tell him to change gear already. result, spin out. disgrace. face-hiding moment in all of the country's 'racing history'.

Anybody can drive in a straight line by putting pedal to metal, but the difference is when you do the same thing, this time by also sensibly using what lies in between your ears. Dumb old ass, what was he thinking? Surely he now has much more appreciation for these elite and professional F1 drivers.
