  • sick lesson man :3 are you using the same stock pickups in that guitar or did you change them? you get a pretty sick sound :D

  • @Swedernish Thanks! No, I installed a set of EMG 81/85s, great pickups

  • very well explained, i'll definitely watch the next one :)

  • great lesson man. only one thing though theres no such thing as a minor 5th because its a perfect interval in is a dim 5th, same for all perfect intervals

  • lol he says G String.lol

  • this is the most helpfull thing i have seen in a long time, i was accualy useing triads to start my sweeps on guitar and this put all the peices together. people need to watch your video to learn, if i here anything on people wanting to sweep this is the video i will make them watch.

  • dude from what i can tell awsome lesson but i dont understand it. But, thats because i dont know basics yet. but gotta ask what kindah amp do you got?

  • @MrAasshole this is an advanced lesson, so yea you'd need to know the basics first. In this video, I'm using a little digitech rp50 just going through a 15 watt esteban amp. it's good for practice

  • how did u learn gow to play guuitar? did u take lessons?

  • @ironmadienrules I started out taking lessons, then taught myself for awhile, and now I'm taking lessons again to learn jazz. I still teach myself things if I really want to learn a technique or song, but lessons help me direct my learning

  • I feel stupid... wish i could afford fucking music lessons.

  • @TeamLib3rty I wish you could as well, although not having them doesn't make you stupid. If you or anybody else has specific questions on learning any theory/technique, i'm happy to help you out or point you in the right direction

  • @fhatsk8er Well, I don't understand intervals on other strings.

  • @TeamLib3rty Do you mean playing 2 notes over 2 different strings? I'll send you a couple of interval lesson sites that might help

  • @fhatsk8er I think thats what I mean, Thanks dude your the only tutor that will respond

  • FINALLY! A lesson that actually helps!

  • @solidiquis1 i'm glad it helped you out!

  • @TheCrashman1111 this is an ibanez jetking

  • I enjoied this lesson ! Thanks !

  • DUDE I PLEAD AND BEG with all my heart to god that they dump Justin Biebers record label to get u and ur band into the real world dropping real records like u and ur band are the type of ppl that deserve a record label bro and I hate seeing stupid talentless kids sing meanwhile there are true people with real talent, nice vid by the way deff like along with all ur other vids !

  • maybe just my opinion, but shouldn't people should first learn to alternate pick these shapes? When mastered, sweeping will be faster and smoother, but blazing speed shouldn't be the ultimate goal in music. A lot of people (steve morse, al dimeola, etc) alternate pick these shapes with plenty of speed. Alternate picking arpeggios is more difficult, but will improve your overall technique....and it's easier to then learn sweeping afterward.

  • @taradead that's where I started from--just alternate picking chords, and I didn't know what sweep picking was until a bit later. And I'm with your opinion since the first picking techniques for rock are usually down and alternate picking. I suppose people could come from the other direction as well if they wanted to (starting with sweeps), although that's less conventional. In the end, it's good to know both ways well and get the best from both worlds

  • @Freezepop42 awesome, glad to hear that!

  • 'i gonna give you the keys to the lambo' was the first thing that came to mind when you pointed

  • @ltmittens I have to tell you, I got that DVD some years ago, and I'm still waiting for MAB to show up with those keys

  • oh no chuck! whats happenin to ur arms? they're gettin smaller... xD thanks for the vid man. ima start practicing right away. >=D

  • @mikester966 lol, they change sizes at random. No prob, good luck with your practice!

  • Awesome lesson man. People like you make learning rock guitar way more accessible. I'm consistently impressed, keep up the good work!

  • @sh1nk1r0 thank you!

  • wtf is that face at the end xD

  • dude you look older than before pretty cool video lesson dude i just don't know all those scales i still need practice lol but yea man i see your busy with you band and all two question how often you change your stings and do you know how to play master of puppets =) yes first to comment

  • @TheLovegun12 it depends how much I play. If I'm constantly practicing each day, I'll make a string change within 2 weeks. Otherwise I'll wait as long as a month. Yes, I know master of puppets, that was one of the very first songs I ever learned and one of my favorites

  • @fhatsk8er oh i thought your suppose to change them every three months well thats what i do cuz one time i waited for like i think 5 months and one morning i started to practice string by string started to break and thats bcuz i waited to too long to change them and thats cool i only know some of it i need to learn the solo thats all which is really hard can you post a cover of it if you can thanks =)

  • your guitar skills are improving tonssss but your muscles are slightly slipping :/

  • @toolshedmusicman uh oh! I'm gonna have to get on that lol

  • @fhatsk8er i just playing dog lol. lovin that jetking i dont know how u can make a cheap ass guitar like the jet king a fukin beast!

  • holy monkeys on drugs, you're good. too good. can i have your guitar skills? lol

  • @ReflectionMoives haha, if you practice the stuff in this video you'll acquire some of my skills :)

  • How old is that guitar? The body of it looks vintage.nice lesson man.

  • @killyourself2862 it's not too old, I think it's just a vintage-style. This was my first "good" guitar, I got it new about 5 1/2 years ago. thanks!

  • also use thick picks like dunlop tortex or dunlop ultex sweeping will cause fender picks to ware easily

  • @2346 yep! and thicker picks also add more control IMO, since they don't bend as much

  • w00t! thnx dude =D

  • Great I love it. I'm going to go practice my sweeping.

  • @someguy131415 awesome!

  • yo wat u do to get arms like dat and do they help u play?

  • @pkerlover haha just normal working out. They don't help me play, but they're useful in carrying heavy amps

  • I really like your videos and think you are excellent at sweep picking. Normally I just type in "Guitar sweep lessons" or something to that effect in the search and I just watch random videos without really knowing if they will help or not. I feel as if your lessons would actually help though because you seem to know what you're doing.

  • @saboomify thank you! I did the same thing to see what other lessons were doing, and there are good ones out there as well. Youtube searching is always a gamble though lol

  • nice katana

  • dude this was very helpful!! your videos are always great, keep up the awesoming guitaring!! also thanks for telling me what that harmonized scale was, i found the pattern for it like a week after i got my guitar 2 years ago and never knew what it was lol

  • @boboblaw I'm glad it helped!

  • I think this was a great lesson, really useful, and you can notice a bit of Batio during that sweeping :D

  • For you guys, who's don't understand completely what he meant by the chords of C major. You have to use a staff and use the 1-3-5 pattern starting from middle C and go up (make sure they're diatonic not chromatically altered) till you reach the octave C.

  • @shadowknight132 Thanks for that! That would be the main approach, to see/write it on the staff, and would be extremely helpful

  • sweet lesson chuck especially the ending lol

  • I like how when you started playing softer stuff, you were entombed in a beam of light.

  • @ZMoreland04 haha yeah the sun just happened to hit my camera at the right angle

  • love ur hair great lesson...ive been doin sweeps and ive been playin 3 months

  • @Nidaime299 thanks, only 3 months total? That's way earlier than when I started haha. keep it up

  • @fhatsk8er yeah 3 months i like sweeping:)

  • what tunning are you in? by the way this lesson helps alot cause now im gonna learn these majors and maybe add a sweeping solo into a song my band uses :)

  • @tylermech100 this is all in standard tuning. awesome, good luck with writing your solo!

  • Comment removed

  • is that a sword i see in the background?

  • @koopagabla Yep, It's a little decorative katana

  • Very awesome.

  • cool
