love it when he sings " addicted to luuuuurve" at the end after he has just caused that accident. so funny.cracks me every time.sometimes the liitle things are the funniest.
I definitely love the novel but the film itself is quite good as well. In no small part is that due to the fact that Christian Bale is spot on as Bateman, in my opinion. Any writing is difficult to translate to screen, and especially such a "steam of conscious" style. So some of the best parts are un-filmable. It does an admirable job trimming down some of Ellis' pretension. It's solid.
On another note: I wish someone would write a novel about Gareth Cheeseman!
I can remember Steve Coogan appearing on Top Gear a few years back. Supposedly the sales of the Probe were pretty weak before this show, but afterwards they really went south.
Even when I see Probes on the road, the first thing I think of is Cheesman.
Shit!

prototype for Partridge?

Similar characters but Partridge had been around for a few years already before Cheeseman. Coogan is best at these 'arsehole' types

@freqeist Partridge came first...and they're totally different.

Such brilliant comedy.

as a character, Gareth Cheeseman is a perfectly observed arsehole

Gotta ask cos it's so divisive, d'you like the film? Lovers of the novel have been known to hate it, but I think it's good in its own right.
