Hey broke back dave, I live in a city with a dam that makes it impossible for them to lay eggs and fertilize them and what not, so we do it for them at the end of their road and hot damn only gotta go downtown for some good fishing.

Brokendave, Wild salmon in Alaska are abundant and come from well managed fisheries. The more you enlighten yourself about this amazing food resource the better you'll find it looks to you. The remarkable sustainability of Alaskan salmon is the reason all major environmental organizations recommend it as a "best environmental choice." Indeed, Alaskan wild salmon are one of the few exceptions to the legitimate problems you mention, not to mention one of the very healthiest foods you can eat.

P.S. Our entire food source is dying off along with the eco systems that support them. Meat, grain, fruit, and vegetable...

Going green won't help you. It's time to learn permiculture, and become one with the earth again instead of trying to control it... we have no control, and the collapse of our food supply is evidence of this.

@brokendave do you live under a rock? everyone in BC knows this was a massive year for sockeye salmon. just search google "biggest sockeye salmon run in 100 years"

@spatzilly Are you suggesting that because ONE river system had the largest sockeye run in almost 100 years means that there isn't a problem; as if this one riversystem will save all of the rest of the ecosystems who are being effected by the lack of salmon? At least there will be a few bears left in Canada ey? It's all good. Let's build some more dams, clearcut a few more forests, drink a coke, and say cheers to a good life!

What I give a shit about is that 100 years ago there were so many salmon thrashing up the rivers that you could reach out and grab them, and now because we've made there journey almost impossible, that is no longer the case. Fuck fisherman, I am worried about the impact of having a lack of salmon and sturgeon is having on our bear and wolf populations, and how it will impact the forest soil.
