Dont worry about a bit of weight creeping back, we all fluctuate a bit. We all slip up occasionally, I dont believe anyone who says they dont. The important thing is to stay with it. Well done.
You look great!! Keep going! It's hard at first, but you will lose the cravings! There are delicious substitutes for beef and chicken. Have you tried Gardein? They sell it at Stop & Shop and other places. You are doing the right thing. Your body will start changing even more, your body will THANK you. Keep going.
i really admire your courage and your honesty. i think we all make mistakes, give into whatever....hey.....do waht you want and dont get down on yourself. maybe 6 days cooked and 1 day raw.....and then after awhile....5 days cooked and two raw.....whatever...go slow....ur awesome cuz u r human. peace.
the way to manage on raw vegan is to cut out the cacao powder hype.
look up durianriders or Harley Johnstone. He'll sure be an inspiration. Don't buy into the animal protein worship like the rest of them. My friend says "adjustment is key, as the pain needs be endured" yet change is painful to endure, as they say.
You're craving meat because you NEED meat. Consider adding quality, grass-fed meats to your raw diet. A vegan diet is not a healthy diet in reality. Just a warning.
I totally disagree with you stevesurv - you do not need to eat meat - in fact - our bodies were designed to be frugavores - not omnivore or carnivore. A raw vegan diet is one of the most healthy diets on earth and the only one that mother nature intended us to eat. The meat craving is an addiction just like people who crave cigarettes and we all know how good those are for us.
Stick to the raw - you will see the benefits in better health and a longer life.
Humans designed to be frugivores? Total nonsense. Archaeological evidence points more to human meat consumption for several million years than fruit being a staple. An analysis of nutritional content of meat compared to nutritional content of fruit compared to our nutritional requirements can debunk the frugivore as well as veganism myth EASILY and has several times. Wake up.
You don't need meat to survive, idiot. A lot of leafy greens have TWICE the protein as meat does. Not only that, they're a lot healthier for you. Doctors actually recommend people to stop eating meat. They also say that if you DO eat meat, to only eat a portion the size of a deck of cards or smaller.
Any "nutrients" that can be found in meat can be found in plant-based sources.
Being a vegetarian and a vegan is an unbelievably healthy lifestyle to lead.
Don't go by the scale. Your face looks so much slimmer and if you're lifting it's probably muscle. It's all cumulative. Don't go by the scale!!! And never say you've failed. Just eat healthy, and move. You look beautiful!
your face looks REALLY thin with your hair like that. I like it :) . I have thin curly/frizzy hair too and I notice if I let it curly on top and make it poofy (which seems weird to me) my face looks thinner.
you shouldn't be so hard on yourself. Its great you have high goals, but just the fact that you can stay vegan is awesome! keep on keeping on... I know it sounds cheesy, but you really can do anything that you put your mind to.
What exactly did cattlewrangler say? Also when he apologised to you and removed the comment, how come you didn't accept his apology and remove your comment?
It is practice not perfection. Go easy on yourself. Just stick to being vegan, and you will be alright. The raw thing will happen. Try to get a little exercise in your life. You are on the path! :)
WOW have you seen yourself lately!! I look at day one and now this! good job. Don't focus on weight. focus on health and weight will follow. thank you for sharing you journey.
you probably were feeling sick because you werent getting enough protein, which is also why you were getting down on yourself. Keeping up a vegan lifestyle by itself is really reeally difficult, let alone the raw part of your diet. If i were you i would just change to vegetarian.
You are so beautiful--inside as well as out, it seems. :)
The first week or so of raw is hard because we still have cravings--just as an alcoholic or drug addict has cravings. But, as your cells clean out the old waste, the cravings lessen! When you see glowing skin, your eyesight is clearer, your nerves are calmer, your body lighter, you are encouraged! You also need a good support team. Find & befriend raw foodists in your area.

If you goal is to lose weight you do not have to go raw or 100% vegan for that matter. Most vegans don't eat the way they do because of health, they do it because of animal rights and all that B.S. If you're trying to lose weight you don't want to be eating fruit. Sure it's full of vitamins etc, however, it's full of sugar. Eat whole foods: Skinless chicken, turkey, (no deli meat) fish, fresh vegetables, healthy fats, olive oil, efa oil. Start counting your calories, it's all about calories.
You are eliminating pus from dairy. Keep it up. Take some enemas. Eat Energy Soup of Dr. Wigmore's: baby greens and watermelon, 1 tbsp. flax seed soaked, figs, am: 1/4th diced avo, pm: 12 soaked/rinsed almonds. chew 30 times before swallowing. Keep it up.
You are beautiful! I think you are too hard on yourself though. I am a Vegan but its not always raw all the time. You are doing awesome, dont deprive yourself of the great prepared Vegan products, youll feel less deprived. But its your call..thats just what i do lol
anyways.,..your doing great, i am proud of you! (ur looking great too!!)
fruits and vegetables are important, and they should make up most of your diet, but you can also eat HEALTHY cooked foods like steel cut oatmeal, quinoa, black beans, wild caught fish, organic chicken and turkey, organic eggs, etc.
you should also try steaming, juicing, or blending your vegetables instead of just trying to eat them, especially when it comes to greens like kale.
stop trying to be so extreme because its obviously not working for you. you can be healthy and lose weight without being 100% raw vegan. raw vegan is not for everyone, and its definitely not the only way to be healthy. your end goal should be to be healthy and fit, not to be 100% raw vegan.
hun, you look awesome, don't beat yourself up for a little slip-up here and there. Also, noticed you were wearing a camel shirt the other day. just curious, do u smoke??
I was wearing a camel shirt. Hah. It was a hand me down from my aunt and then my Dad. I do not, nor will I EVER smoke. That's totally disgusting... it's just a really soft comfy worn shirt. =)
If you failed and didn't go raw the whole way, don't worry, no body is grading you...is only for yourself, and for the earth, and animals...but mainly for yourself. GREAT! I'm not raw...I have tried it, but I'm definitely vegan!!
you know what I would suggest? Try making friends with somebody at your local co-op. I think what you need is to have somebody to eat with. I know how lonely it can be on a vegan diet (and especially raw). The internet is great, but it's not quite the same in terms of our ability to encourage you.
I also wanted to say that cravings, for the most part, are in your head (especially after only a month on a diet - your body is not crying out for chicken. it's emotional!) It's when you're stressed and unhappy that you tend to crave foods, and you'll know that it's not your body that needs it because you'll feel crappy physically when you give in. At least that's how it works for me.
you need to stop beating yourself up, because this only makes it worse. Do things that make you happy and feel good about yourself. and don't give up, because eating well can only help you.
Don't let the numbers bog you down. Are you excerising regularly? When I went vegan I never lost any weight. I'm loosing some now because I'm hitting the gym a lot. But it fluxuates while it going down.
omg! uv come so far! wen its u thats losing weight, u dont see it but others do. n im seeing some wonderful improvement! keep at it girl as some things only get worse b4 they get better so keep at it. and i agree with 36heseria36, try a vegan book or 2 for inspiration!
Oh yeah. And take a look at yourself after only one month!! One month!!!! Even on a bad hair + breakout + feeling all messed up and I want to eat greasy disgusting crap that will make me sick and puke all over myself day.
Okay, please excuse all the typos, it's the am still, and I gave up coffee last week, so I am slightly slugish still. I meant to say, it FOCUSES on weight loss. and HAS a 4 wk menu, haha.
Sorry you are having in so rough, try reading the book skinny bitch (if you haven't already), it is an amazing book and I'm buying it for all my friend for xmas. I'm sure reading a vegan book right now might help you through this rocky patch!
It sounds like you're going through a really tough time. Since I went vegan I've never craved cheese, much less crave meat. I really hope it gets better for you, veganism is not abuout feeling miserable or deprived.

I tried going raw a few months back..and wanted to live that lifestyle so bad, for so many reasons...and I finally decided on sticking with weight watchers and continue eating lean meats and such. You have made such a great change in your body already..You are so much healthier than you were 36 days ago. Pat yourself on the back, and don't worry if your body craves something different on occassion. There is no Raw Police out there that will come and take you away..lol
Don't beat yourself up.Maybe it would be easier just to sick to the vegan thing. I've was brought up a vegetarian (we ate dairy) when I was on my own I started to eat meat and then I married vegetarian and now I'm back to being a vegetarian and have been for 3 years.I hate eggs so I don't eat those either. But what I want to say is the vegan/vegetarian lifestyle is much healthier for you.You should focus on your health and not the weight as much.Don't give up, you are doing great!
