If you looked up sexy in the dictionary, his face would be right there!!... I love this band!!... Come on people of the world.. spread the news of this band!! :D

  • I can't imagine my life without The Cure music. They're my cure to survive and a cure of 'music' presented by artists of nowadays which is nothing like only shit.

  • The best band of the world!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Simon wasn't there....so its crap. Lose the fuckwit bass player withe sunglasses

  • @Vypir1966 you mean the producer for pornography?

  • AWESOME!!!!

  • who is the guy in the battery??

  • @CaesaroSumabillity His name was or is, Andy Anderson, just play on this season with The Cure

  • Bands like The Cure, Bunnymen,Joy Division,Banshees....only come 'round ones in a life time..ENJOY while we can.

  • Excelente directo. Gracias por compartir el video. 5*

    Saludos

  • badass performance

  • ambition in the back of a black car

  • Fricken awesomeness!!!!!

  • "pornography" from the cure and "closer" form joy division are the darkest records of music history.

  • @WhaleRider86 100 percent truth

  • @WhaleRider86 100% truth

  • @WhaleRider86 Pornography is darker...thus...THE darkest :D

  • Really powerful live performance of THE best Cure song ever...

  • Absolutely love the older videos of Robert in the 80's. Reminds me of my punk/goth days. LOL Greatest years of my life. LOL Best music next to Indocine! Oh Yeah!

  • Sublime <333

  • xtraordinary!!!

  • This is such an absolutely awesome song!! So dark and haunting and so full of truth as well. Robert is so amazing and his voice is so mesmerizing. His voice can just take you to a different place . And he is so gorgeous as well! The Cure is a band who has truly stood the test of time. They have been rockin for 30 years now and they still sound fresh to this day. Such an awesome and amazing band! Rock on forever Cure!!

  • @darkforest121 You couldd'nt of put it better. You said" exactly how I feel about them as a whole. This is one of my very favorite Cure song's it's genius and forever lasting as the greatest band's of all fucking time, now and forever. Way longer then a hundred years ,The Cure is timeless.

  • @averixo20011 Thank you and I totally agree with you as well and all that you have said!! The Cure is a band all their own!! No one will ever touch them and yes indeed my friend, The Cure is timeless!! ☺♥

  • @darkforest121 ...Totally agree however The Bunnymen are also timeless!!

  • @NicBunnymen Awe yes, The Bunnymen!! They are timeless indeed. I love that band as well. :)) and thank you for your comment friend!! ☺♥

  • How many of you commenting here have seen the Cure live even, let alone at their zenith? Some of these comments on certain band members are ridiculously soft beyond and uneducated. Both Lol and Andy got sacked for their chemical dependencies-plain and simple. Nothing new in the music world there. First got onto them in 82 for "Pornography," began seeing them live in '87 and every tour since. They ruled FUJI ROCK in 2007 here in Japan.

But hey, musical taste is subjective. So just deal people.

  • Great line up.

andy anderson was definietely a brilliant drummer.

  • Damn I was born too late!!!!

  • i agree, this was a great drummer

but boris was just way more 'cure'

& in my opinion an even better drummer

to saythe least, although i loved Lols drumming as well, too bad those things happened he was a good member from the start on of the cure, & 2nd Simon's bass playing is idd way better, way more passion put into it, & he's deffinetly a big part of the cure with style and his own way of playing

  • Actually I really like Lol's drumming on the early albums. Sad what happened.

  • what happend to Lol

  • Totally agree. The only bass players that come close to Gallup are JPJ of Zeppelin and maybe Carlos D from Interpol.

  • same goes for the bass player.... much nearer to the orginal album versions ..hardly suprising since he was the engineer and was going for sound not stance.

  • @zazz63- The bassist you are talking about is Phil Thornalley. This is a different bassist. Going for sound and not stance? It was obviously the opposite and he failed at both!

Even Phil Thornalley comes nowhere near someone like Simon Gallup when it comes to bass playing. This is more than just my opinion. Simon's phenomenal bass playing is the most obvious feature of the group.

  • exelent drummer !!

    great perfomanc 84 !

  • best drummer that the cure ever had...minimal and to the point.. the cure never sounded better.

bass player here was great as well....great lineup.

  • @zazz63- I don't quite agree. Andy Anderson was a good drummer for The Cure but never quite fit in with the group. Boris Williams was the best drummer they had.

The bass player was playing as if he was reluctantly doing some kind of school homework. Hardly any passion is visible in his bass playing. Just compare this to how Simon Gallup or even Michael Dempsey plays.

  • @ajittffcure maybe on looks you may have something but i was really commenting on the sound ...get "cure live" ..it really has that minimalist feel thet they never seemd to have recaptured..the drumming in particular.

robert smith acctually wanted that half man half drum machine feel on the early stuff and anderson really pulled that off live.

  • @zazz63- It has nothing to do with looks. I wouldn't be a Cure fan if I cared only about how they looked. I was just trying to point out that Andy Anderson's attitude was at odds with that of other members of The Cure. That was the main reason, he didn't last that long with the group.

How can you be so sure that they didn't capture the half-man and half-machine feel on other live versions? Have you seen other footages, especially when Boris Williams was in the band?

  • @ajittffcure

    I agree completely.

  • One of best song ever

  • Holy Shit!! I was on THIS same gig and I seems it was one hundred years ago.

  • Why did I not have to be born until 1992? ;_; Dammit! I wish I could have been to all of these concerts

  • doesnt the bassist look a bit like Johnny Marr of The Smiths

  • haha exactly what i thought.

  • It doesn't matter if we all die

Ambition in the back of a black car

    ...SHE STRUGGLES TO GET AWAY...

  • tara j

  • I like how this song just builds up to that crazy sick solo. it`s the ultimate f**k you song.

  • chocolate pudding huh=) for cure fans this is definitely an indulgence.

  • Robert said during the making of Pornography he was in a down mood pissed off drunken haze he wasnt talking to mary that much either him and simon were in a haze with lol angry dark moods from Robert,as from what i read about this album from ROBERT SMITH Internet is the best,

  • la cura lo mejor

  • but I've to admit that when I look at the 1982 performances of Hundred Years (for example) they play it better, I dunno why, maybe here it is a bit too fast and it don't give me that hynotic feeling.

But don't get me wrong this is still an awesome performance.

As I said I own the Dark Trilogy and Disintegration and I think my ranking list goes like this:

    1. Pornography 2. Faith 3. Seventeen Seconds 4. Disintegration (its a great album, but the dark trilogy has his own charme)

  • I really love this song

When I first heard pornography it was just weird to me, hypnotic dark depressive tune which really gets you in a 'dark world'

I own the Dark Trilogy and since yesterday Disintegration, and since I have Disintegration I came back and listen to Pornography more then before.. maybe because although they tried to make Disintegration dark, which they did, but I realized that Pornography is the Masterpiece. The aggressive and depressive songs are just genius.

  • God I was 11(9 when it officially came out!), speachless everytime I hear it, and I heard it one thousand times....thousands more to follow...

  • i love this song so much!!!

its probably thier best live song ever too.

  • i love this band i love the era of this time 1984 THE TOP Era WOOOO Fucking went back to Psychedelic pop type stuff and pornography Resurrection Andy was a wicked drummer But LOL Will always be the MASTERMIND Behind The Cure mellowdramatic hypnotic Drum Beats

  • hilarious

  • MAE ME SHUT UP U WANKA

  • my favorite band also

  • not yours, mine favorite band

  • my favorite band too

  • my favorite band

  • who's the drummer ? looks like zeke manyika.. don't blame if i don't know.. i'm new into the cure music :)

  • Hi, he's Andy Andersson. He was with the band around 1983-1984, during The Top era.

  • thanks

  • ...............Andy Anderson

  • PORNOGRAPHY

  • I can't understand a word he's saying, but I love the dark sound of his voice.

  • #1.(PORNOGRAPHY!1982) #2.lol(Disintegration1989).#3(Kiss me.1987) #4.(The Top 1984) #5. (THOTD 1985) #6.(Faith 1981) #7.(Seventeen Seconds 1980) #8.(Boys Don't Cry 1980) those are my favorite Cure albums in a row the rest sucked to me really bad but there still my favorite band and Robert Smith is still my idol and always will be. p.s 1984 is the best cure era ever!

  • Thumbs up for putting "lol" after "#2" - that and good taste in music.

  • one of their darkest songs but it is neat.

  • produce dark, depressive, sweet and strange feel, another order of music... the cure, salve salve salve, the best band

  • one for my preferids songs..

  • shit.. I made a misstake.. It shoulb be: "the one WHICH overwhelmed me the most..." :S

  • This song is just amazing! Exactly one month ago I saw The Cure in Zurich, and this song was the one who overwhelmed me the most, it gave me such a goose skin... oah... I'll never forget that moment!!! NEVER EVER!!!

  • what i'd give to be in the crowd.. -sigh-
