  • @kaiwanmak I think you're missing the point. Is what he is doing morally objectionable? No Is it good for his health? Yes. Is it any more important or valuable than washing the dishes? probably not. Could it be a source of attachment or delusion? No more than any other activity. In fact meditation can be just as much of  a problem as anything else. However just because we can see that things might not be pure or that they may even be tainted does that mean we need to reject the whole thing?

  • Question for all: I've been practicing Power Yoga on and off now for ten years, more on these last 12 months. Specifically Brian Kests Power yoga; I recently ordered all of D. Swenson DVDs and started his practice. I find his practice challenging, technical and fast paced. My question is this: Although I thoroughly enjoy his instruction, the pace for me, seems to be a smidgen to fast - what has been your experience please?

  • i took a workshop from david this past march and someone asked him about the pace of his practice. he said that the full primary series should be completed in approx. 90 min. that is the requirement of the practice per Sri K. Pattabhi Jois.

  • I take a formal ashtanga class once a week, and we easily finish up the full primary series (including the full 5 sun salutations As and 5 sun salutations Bs) in under 90 minutes. The key is to keep moving. It's certainly not the only way to do yoga, but once you really get down the sequence, it's pretty awesome.

  • David Swanson is a truly amazing man. I would have been honoured to see him do this live.

  • Ashtanga is not a Demo or having the most difficult poses exposure to people eyes. Is the trip to succes...Is making people do somethisn safe and effective!!! I clap my hands to all the Gurus out there but please don't make yourself difficult to folow!!!
