  • One of the best short lived tv shows from back in 1979. It was on NYC's WPIX-TV(11 Alive) M-F at 4:30pm. RIP Soupy.

  • wowi love alice 1970 so long ago, sad thing is he is older then me

  • So. Very. Cool.

  • blaaagh! haha

  • soupy had a wide array of show biz friends

  • Mr.Cooper can do a bizzare music video of getting a tooth ache and getting his tooth pulled and yet? Here he tells Soupy don't breath on me and give me your disease?!

  • funniest chit I have ever seen!!

  • Thats the best thing I ever seen!

  • Soupey Salesthe happiest man that ever lived!

  • Greatest pie throw ever....

I never realized what a stick Alice was though ><

  • Ah old humor.

I think Alice Cooper looks better now that he's all old and sober lol.

  • @TookieLooCookies Some folks are very lucky to get away from that shit and go in reverse like that...unfortunately its not always that way ;..-(

  • this is the "unhealthy, almost ready to die Alice" and later on, he would look even worse than this in the early 80's. Good thing he stopped drinking, he went on to be a far more consistent artist once he was sober (there was some classic stuff, but his albums were hit or miss in the 70's).

  • Alice with a pie in the face! LOL Only on Soupy

  • soupy was the best!!!!!!!

  • Best pie hit ever, and Alice took it like a man.

  • Regardless of being complelty drunk, Alice still looks smoking hot lol. But why is that man jive talking..?

  • God I LOVED Soupy RIP you GREAT talent!!!!

  • DO YOU REMEMBER THE SOUPY SALES SHOW?????????

  • This shit was too funny.

  • I love this! I used to watch Soupy Sales when I was a kid back in the 60's and saw the show in the 70's but I missed seeing Alice Cooper on there! Thanks for posting this! They did the show live back in the 60's and once they brought a stripper or dancer as a surprise, but the audience couldn't see it. Soupy's reaction was hilarious! I'm going to go see if I can find it! Later!

  • Oh the days when "welcome to my nightmare" was scary!!!!

  • MURDER!!! THAT BUG WAS MURDERED ON NATIONAL TV!!!!

  • 1975....

  • 1975....

  • ALICE IS AWESOME!

  • I absolutely love Alice's sense of humor. I wanted to get a VIP pass to meet him last year, but I had to get new tires. But I will definitely meet him next time.

  • I use to watch this show everyday when I was a kid. I was like 9 years when watched this show. I also remember watching the new Howdy Doody show in the 70's.

  • Fantastic! I love seeing the guest spots of Alice Cooper! Woot, thank you for posting.

  • Did I hit my head? Am I imagining this?

  • I remember that! I loved Soupy Sales when I was a kid - thanks for posting!

  • wow , too cool!!!!

  • Never knew about this!!! Fantastic!!!

  • Classic footage .

    Thanks for sharing

  • So that was the pie incident :) Dude that was funny!!! Thank you for posting this!

  • Who is singing"Autum In New York"for the bug at the little piano?

  • Maxoom: Mothra admits guilt over watching this time and again without offering proper "thanks" to you. Well, please accept these belated thanks. SUCH the funny post. Being a bug myself, I'll never forget that little guy!

The QuickDraw McGraw stinger alone is worth the price of admission.

Thanks again, send more Soupy, and peace to you and your fans. Love, Mothra

  • this is great!

  • That arachnid wuz good!

  • vaudeville lives on!

  • Thank you for posting this. I used to watch this show a lot when I was a kid in the late 70's, and I haven't seen it since. Soupy died a few weeks ago. RIP.

  • Slapstick

  • Ahhh, WHITE FANG!!

    The BADDEST dog in Deeeetroit!

  • alice's face is so hilarious before he gets hit by the cream pie, it's like "oh damn..." he totally saw that coming hahahahahah

  • @carloslopez14 what is with the pie in the face and he nailed him hard with it?lol

  • That spider cracks me up!!! XD

  • ha ha ha !!!!!!

  • This reminds me of Conan O'Brien.

  • Not even close. Conan can't hold Soupy's socks.

  • There's little doubt that Soupy Sales had a major impact on comedy, but this clip was a little "meh".

  • Soupy, Alice, White Fang, and Spider....it's ridiculous, and what will happen to the Spider is predictable....but I laughed so hard my gut hurt....Soupy's corny genious is still unmatched!

  • RIP Soupy

  • I LOVED SOUPY

  • wtf?

  • RIP Soupy. We ALL loved you, Pookie, White Fang and Black Tooth.

Now the big show can go on with Clyde and Frank in pie heaven

  • NOW KIDS GET THE TELE TUBBIES.

  • This is great - thanks for uploading it ! RIP Soupy , you are loved and missed ! Ron

  • God bless you Soup, when me and my friends needed a laugh. I would break out my white fang and black tooth impersonations in your honor and we would have one, RIP

  • Wow, another hero goes up the ladder.

I am WAAAAAY to young to have watched Soupy, but he is a great guy. Another man to show that a kids show can make the adults laugh. I feel so ashamed that I never could see this or hear about this.

Although I have watched Soupy's crazy antics on the Match Game before. A knockout performance.

  • this guy WAS funny! RIP Soupy Sales

  • Love Soupy, love Alice. We're going to miss Soupy, and Alice is still rocking HARD all over the world!

  • HYSTERICAL !!!

  • RIP, Soupy Sales. The world is a little less funny place without you.

  • I love White Fang he is so funny. The pies to the face sound brutal. It sounds like they would hurt.

  • LOL

  • alice is a great sport

  • I grew up with soupy sales and fang and pookie , and had many a good laugh watching the show. He was a very funny man, he will keep em laughing in heaven, watch out for the pie,,,,,,,,,,whow! 56 Carmie

  • R.I.P.

  • Man I LOVED Soupy as a kid! RIP Soupy and THANK YOU!!!!!

  • Soupy was so talented, in front of a camera or a microphone. Adios, Soupy, and thank you.

  • Great skit!! A singing bug and Alice taking a pie in the face....LOL!!

God bless you, Soupy. You're a true comedic legend, and you will be missed. Thank you so much for all the many laughs you gave us.

  • OMG I freaking love this sketch!!!

  • it's still hilarious! it's too bad people are not this kind of funny on TV these days anymore. PeeWee herman came close and Sponge Bob does not cut it!

  • Milton Supman

  • funny still

  • That was a GREAT clip! (I was literally in tears from laughing (2:2:15 onward, app.)

This is a great tape. I love Soupy Sales. He will be missed. He was one of the true greats.

  • I didn't even know this show was still on in 79.

I watched soupy earlier when I was a kid and thought his show was great. really funny and he will be missed

  • rip soupy you will be missed. the angels will have a lots of laughter ...god bless his family and closed friends....

  • Oh man. There's a hole in my heart. Gonna miss you Soupy. Thank, thank THANK YOU!, for all the yuks, guffaws, and gut wrenching laughs!

I think, I'm going to give someone a pie in the face today..........

  • RIP Soup.

You were greatly loved, and will be greatly missed,

  • RIP the great Soupy...When TV was sweet and genuinely funny!!!

  • RIP Soup

  • The bug is singing "Autumn in New York." It's a version by Jonathan and Darlene Edwards (which was a joke album, perfect for Soupy).

  • Yep...and one of the funniest albums ever! Can't believe you beat me to posting this by only 4 hours, since that's the first thing I thought about when I saw the clip...bravo!

  • Jonathan and Darlene fans are a special breed. It sounds like Soupy's tech guys sped up the turntable a bit.

  • Used to love this guy as a kid. RIP Soupy

  • he will be dearly missed'

  • Good night, funny man

  • God has to be pissing himself this year with george carlin and soupy damn that has to be hilarious

  • The would be ironic. George Carlin was an Atheist.

  • Fan since 5 years old...RIP Soupy!

  • Love ya Soupy...RIP

  • R.I.P. Soupy. This is one of my all-time favorite videos on youtube and I ABSOLUTELY love it when White Fang pounds the bug and when Alice gets the pie in his face and his hair flys up! You will be missed, Mr. Sales....

  • @POW!! sweeeet pie in the face at the end!

  • RIP, best clip on the toob

  • Rest in peace, Soupy

  • R.I.P. Many years a fan.

  • Dear PrincesBorkenTeaCup, Mr.Cooper wasn't that badly off..he really wanted "White Fang" to hit him with the pie.Which was really made of shaving cream in a real pie crust.

  • Poor Alice xD

  • wtf el kabong randomness

  • omg that was surreal and rather hilarious. madness. thank you.

  • i agree too much smarts are needed to get this..............

  • the show was too smart for some folks.

  • I had no idea Soupy came back on TV in 1979.

  • Whitefang, you're an asshole.

  • LOL

    I love this video.

I posted it on my facebook.

  • it sounded like whitefang yelled

    OHH YEAAAHHH

right before he threw the pie. freakin hilarious.

  • Alice Cooper from Detroit...Soupy Sales was BIG in Detroit TV market in the OLD days....

did a couple of shows a day....LIVE TV.

Bunnyhead...are you talking about UNCLE FLOYD ....from NJ...on VHF....with MR Spooky, Don Goombah. Loony SKIP ROONEY?

Soupy Sales on air a lot longer than UNCLE FLOYD...

Don't think UNCLE FLOYD likes TV as much as he likes doing live act.

    Maxoom...thanks for posting:)

  • I LOVED this show when I was little! One of my favorite bits was when White Fang would shout "OH YEAH?" and throw a pie in the face! LOL! And as a fan of Alice Cooper, I LOVE this bit! I MUST find this show on DVD!

  • The New Soupy Sales show is on Sunday night at 11:00PM on AMG network.

DVR the shows so my kides can watch them the next day.

I miss yesterday show. He had a fighting cat vs some mice. The cat was so scared the he ran from them.

    LOL

  • I don't think I have that station here in Long Island.

  • man my uncle met soupy lol omg poor alice i'll find u whitefang... jk

  • CLASSIC!!!

  • Not for nothing, BUT Alice SHOULD BE in the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame. He was great AND a genuine original!

  • excellent!

  • Soupy was DYING to be Uncle Floyd...Except he was cancelled

  • lol wow. one guy laughing in the back ground.

  • Alice was such a babe

  • poor alice.

  • Alice must have had a flashback to the Cincinatti Pop Fest.....Both he and Soupy were trying to make comebacks in '79. I watched Soupy's show , and saw Alice on that tour. Whitefang would have made a gret opener.

  • Dear Tazzman, No! Soupy never screened any Deputy Dawg tv cartoons

on any of his kids tv comedy shows.

  • The name of Quick Draw McGraw's sidekick is

    Babalouie..Not Bobolooie.

  • Did he also air Deputy Dawg during his show?

  • Shortly after Gary got reamed for that, I saw an episode of QDMcD and he did call him Bababooy. I think though he actually had a nickname for him and was saying Baba-boy, but, you know, he said it in his Quickdraw way off speaking.

  • Great stuff. THANKS for posting it.

  • Funniest thing I have seen on youtube.

  • 1:49 they repeat that one Alice clip of him looking up like 4x.

  • lol

  • Did anyone catch that Alice Cooper didn't flinch when the pie was thrown at him? If that was me, I would've flinched.

  • What's with the cartoon at the end?

  • Quick Draw McGraw (I think),and his little side kick Bobba Louie.

  • Oh. I still don't get why that cartoon is at the end of that.

  • I wonder if Alice Cooper's make-up got mucked up and messed up.

  • Dear EOGGasman, Yes! I wish that I was on one of Soupy's tv shows..

so that he'd hit me with a shaving cream pie

or..I'd hit him or "White Fang"with a pie.

  • Catamarans?

  • It's amazing how a pie in the face can brighten up your day

  • That was funny.

  • Well I dont know about Soupy Sales, but Cooper is'nt either a jew or a no-talent you idiot! Where'd you hear that he was jewish?! He's from a baptist family ( his father was even a minister ) and has a french surname ( Furnier )! And he's a creative genious too!

  • pookie, hippy, white fang black tooth and Soupy Sales...WOW thanks you guys...! Sparky...

  • Cooper is French, Scottish, and English...

  • Thank you so much for giving an example of the Racist/neo-nazi ("mindset?) You have shown that anybody who believes the poison you "people" represent are nothing but ignorant, stupid un-educated brain-dead idiots. GO TO HELL!!!

  • Soupy is so coked out .

  • WNEW. That was a fantastic show.

  • "Alice..Listen to me..I've got a bug!!"

"Oh,Don't breath on me!Don't Breath on me!! That's awful!!"

hahahaaha I love this!!! Alice is so funny!

  • hahahah..lmao...this is great...

  • Alice Cooper, adventurous and just-plain-real enough to take a pie in the face! How many self-centered flavor of the month "celebs" today could be so freakin' cool? Well, O.K. Brad Pitt did allow his sleeves to be ripped off his arms by thugs sent by "Larry the Cable Guy"!

  • Fuck are you kidding me--Ha! Ha!-Cklw channel 9 Windsor, Ontario 79-- i watched this in Dexter Michigan, Soupy-- he's a fuckin icon- his sons played with Iggy, tony and his brother--Woot-- great!!

  • Awesome. This guy is friggin classic.

  • omg!!@3231251236513461 sooo goood

  • I like the little hidden magic trick in this one, wonder how they did it. And now my brain is forever going to be tainted with OH YEAH!! POW!!

  • Very funny, so much I think a lot of stuff was made up as they went along. You could always hear the camera men and others in the background laughing, everyone had a good time. It was so fast and loose, unlike any thing we have today.

  • hahaha "spiders and scorpions and catamarans". I also like the novelty piano playing the bug was doing. Oh, and that last ending bit... around 2:54... made me laugh the hardest I've ever laughed in my life.

  • this has got to be the coolest thing i've seen all week. yay Alice! damn the man was fine!

and i believe good ol Soupy manipulated mr. bug at the piano. you can see his hand pulling the wire in the shots.

  • I wonder if Mr.Clyde Adler manipuated the bug at the

    piano?

  • Dear Cast, The creative disputes that Soupy and Frank Nastasi

had with the management of WNEW TV Ch.5 in NYC

wasn't just about the money in the mail. All of their characters and skits were censored

and Soupy and Frank told management to leave

    them alone..but sadly..they didn't.

  • Dear Cast, The joke was Soupy telling the kids to get the

"Green Papers" from the parents and send them

to him in the mail..everyone thought that he was

encouraging the kids to steal monies for him.

  • Thanks for posting this. I too am 54 and love Soupy's comedy. Some people don't get him, which is fine, and others almost die laughing because of him and others like him.

  • Dear Cast, Soupy was not fired after the Little Green Papers

incident..he was suspended for telling the joke

but he was reinstated by his fans and he remained

on the air until 1966..when he left after a creative

    dispute.

  • I am glad to hear he was not fired over the " paper act". There was a small riot at WNEWTV in Manhattan with the crowd throwing eggs at their studio after he got in trouble for the money joke. I wonder what the joke was that caused the hastle and the creative dispute also. Soupy is/was HILAROIUS !

  • Dear Cast,

Soupy's NYC based kidult tv comedy show

was on WNEW TV Ch.5 NYC from September 7,1964

    to September,1966.

this his last attempt to do his kidult tv comedy

show"The New Soupy Sales Show"was seen on

KTLA TV Ch.5 in L.A.,Cal.and in national syndication

    briefly in 1979.

  • No ! His best show was his last on WNEW N Y when he asked kids to send in money and he got thousands of letters some with play money and some with real money. Then he was fired ! LOL !!! I think that was a tragedy though !

  • I also say that actual show where he asked the kids to send in money ! I was born & raised in N Y City ! And am 54 now ! I wish I could get his shows on DVD ! That survived !

  • I know 23 or so shows were done in KTLA TV Ch, 5 but I did know it was syndicated, Thank you for posting this information.

  • Dear Cast, Actually?

Soupy's kidult tv comedy show made it's

debut on WXYZ TV Ch.7 in Detroit,Mi in 1953

..the show later moved to KABC TV Ch.7 in

L.A.,Cal. on December 25,1960. The show moved to WNEW TV Ch.5 in NYC

    on September 7,1964.

  • Before he was on WNEW ch 5 NY City I saw him on Saturday afternoons on WABC ch 7 in N Y City. Only once a week though. He was GREAT !

  • Before he was on WNEW ch 5 NY City I saw him on Saturday afternoons on WABC ch 7 in N Y City. Only once a week though. He was GREAT !

  • ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS !!!!! I am 54 born & raised in N Y City and a Soupy Sales fan since I was about 6 years old ! Thanks so much for putting this up. I did not realize he was still on in 1979 !

  • Dear From The Sidelines, This installment of "The New Soupy Sales TV Show"

was the first episode that aired on WPIX TV Ch.11 in

NYC. Yet..The stupid station execs at Ch.11 still thought

that he was still doing a kids tv show and they

put him on at the wrong time and he got cancelled.

  • WHAT A TRATGEY !!!!!

  • rio rio reh!

  • awesome! I still laugh so hard I cry at every Soupy clip.

  • damm that was different! but I like it!!!

  • This is the outest thing I've ever seen, especially the out-of-tune, sped-up soprano and stride piano the bug provides.

  • bizarre.

  • White Fang does allot of irrational stuff you know.

  • Man was funniest thing on TV at the time!

  • Lol!.Soupy Sales was more 'shocking' than Alice Cooper on this occasion!.
