This group (and others like it) is likely a rag-tag mixture of genuine extreme anarchists and plain old shit-disturbers who jump at chance to do stuff like this. There obviously must be some level of coordination to get everyone together, but I doubt they meet regularly and wax anarchist philosophy or think of ways to achieve their goals.

Are you saying Oakland Police Chief Howard Jordan got dumber since 2003? He learned he shouldn't publicly admit sending infiltrators. He hasn't lied. He believes sending infiltrators to vandalize IS a way to maintain public safety giving people a way to vent frustration instead of becoming violent (injuring people). The Canadian police said the same thing in 2007 about their undercover black bloc police:

The PD were aggressive. I'd have you ask vet Scott Olsen who was aggressive but he still can't speak yet. Oakland police told people to clear the area, people came to pick up an unconscious person off the ground and carry him away and a cop threw a flash-bang in the middle of them. You think that's not aggressive? Then why is the PD under investigation?

@SciFi1701 The Olsen incident really is unfortunate, but I don't think a cop would throw a flashbang in the middle of a group trying to help an injured person if he actually knew what happened. It looks like on that evening the police may have declared an lawful assembly sooner than they should have, and yes, it looks like they over-reacted. Your anger at that certainly explains your inclination to blame the actions in this video on the police, but it does not justify it.

I'm not angry at the police. The police are only a distraction from OWS's goal of removing corruption from politics. As I said before, I wouldn't mind if the police mingled with the OWS crowd. Obviously they're paid to protect the peace, so they can't ever be expected to show support for a group who's purpose is to make changes in politics. They're just doing their job and I'm just trying to get OWS to exclude people who have proven themselves to be vandals.

@SciFi1701 as well, back in 2003 the undercovers were collecting intelligence, not inciting people to riot. And actually, I don't have a problem with sending plainclothes officers to Occupy protests to gather info. These protests are where people like the Black Bloc tend to gather, and the police need to know what they will be facing. They will want to know how protestors are planning on dealing with the police, whether to expect violence or minimal resistance.

Chief Jordan's undercover police weren't just collecting info, they led the group & planned the march which is prohibited in intelligence gathering. Police don't need to sneak around, they're welcome to attend GA's in full uniform. OWS has nothing to hide while we end corruption, whereas vandals do and must be excluded.
